Description of Work: Chaves Heating & Air Conditioning responded very promptly to my e-mail inquiry via Angie's List regarding a request for an estimate on a multi-zone ductless A/C system installation. The appointment was scheduled for about a week out and the estimator showed up as planned. He was very professional and pleasant. He had a laptop with a sophisticated estimating tool and he was able to provide us with estimates on the spot. He was knowledgeable about the applicable rebates and the company was also offering a special seasonal promotion for an additional $250 off the service. He was also able to email all the related estimates and rebate applications to us at the time of the meeting, so we would have all the information for future reference. However, the service provider was at least 25% more expensive than the least expensive service provider that we met with. Because of this fact and the fact that the service provider we chose was much more local, we did not select this contractor to do the installation project.

Description of Work: I had several AC/Heat Pumps installed. I found the people at Chavez to be very knowledgeable. The installation was flawless and they followed up to be sure I was satisfied with their work and happy with the product.

Description of Work: Were so impressed with their responsiveness, knowledge, recommendations, and overall professionalism that we asked them to give us a quote on replacing boiler and air conditioner unit -- work to start tomorrow on that project.

Description of Work: My air conditioner was leaking water. The technician figured out what the problem was, a clogged condensate drain pipe. He cleared the clog and installed a clear section of drain pipe that has openings that will allow me to clear clogs myself with the brush provided with the clear section of drain pipe. This work only took an hour to perform.

Description of Work: Installed complete gas HVAC system with humidifier. Facilitated rebates and interest free loan from Mass Save/NSTAR as well as arranging for town code inspections. Work was started on date promised and finished in 3 consecutive days. The installers were professional, friendly, arrived on time, cleaned up when the job was completed, and took away the old equipment. Mr. Chaves was available by phone to respond to any concerns, and he came to the house to check on the job. I couldn't have been happier with this experience.

Description of Work: Chaves did a routine maintenance of my gas fired furnace. The technician forgot to make sure that all of the vents were open (I close the upstairs vents during the winter and the downstairs during the summer to leverage natural convection), and was having trouble getting the efficiency up to specification, but once he asked and I made sure all of the vents were open everything went smoothly. I also had some condensate showing up at base of furnace, turned out the GFI outlet that ran the sump pump to discharge condensate from the furnace to my septic had tripped, we reset the outlet and the pump cycled correctly
