Kris was very prompt in contacting me and came to the property to assess the yard. He listened to what we were interested in (a patio, lawn, and peripheral plantings, as well as some grading. He returned with the plan about 2 weeks later. We were impressed that he listened to what we had to say and were pleased with the final plan. He also gave us 2 pricing estimates, as I told him I was unsure if we would be able to do the entire project at once. The prices for the actual work is a bit high, so we're not sure we will be going forward with everything at this point. But we were pleased with the design and thought it was a great value.

I purchased the Angie's List deal for landscape design from Weston Nurseries for $149. My husband is a "DIY" guy when it comes to the yard, but we have a big open backyard and needed ideas. The contacted me right away to set up an appointment and someone came out to look at the yard within a few days. We were told the plans would take about a week, but it turned into 2.5, but they had gotten very busy due to the Angie's List deal. The design was great, but it was late in the season so we will probably use it in the spring.

Everyone involved in the design and installation were prompt, courteous and professional. I would recommend Weston Nursery to anyone.

The landscape design was nice, and it was interesting to see the variety of plants available at Weston Nurseries, but the price to actually do the work was way out of my range.

The design was done timely and in a professional manner, We meet with the designer at our house to review areas that we wanted to have a design done. They went back and did the design. We meet with them a couple weeks later and reviewed the plans and they went over every plant, shrub and tree. Even took the time to show us each of them so we would see how they would look. We are very pleased with the outcome.

Chip was professional and easy to work with. I liked his plan and he was responsive when I asked a question and asked about adding a pergola to the plan. I don't know if I will use Weston Nurseries for the work, seek other estimates, or do it myself next Spring -- I unexpectedly had to replace my gas furnace so planned project funds are not available now. By far the most useful parts of the service were: 1. Recommendation of specific plants - I was able to find details and photos on the Weston Nursery website. 2. The drawing/plan. The drawing was done with computer software; I received a PDF file which is not very high resolution (e.g. hard to make out some of the plant names). I would have liked an easier to read drawing. Overall, I appreciated Chip and the service. I gave him fairly general parameters and he delivered a plan that I like. I am certain that if I were more specific in my requests, that they would have been incorporated into the plan. If I do choose to use Weston for the project, the purchase price of the plan will be credited to the project, which is nice.

She arrived at our scheduled time. She had many great ideas for new plants as well as moving existing plants. My disappointment was with the followup. I waited a couple of weeks to get a print out of her plans, but only received a written email of some ideas. Had i'd realized, I would have had my pen and paper out to write down her suggestions, which were great ideas. I had to request the plot plan that was promised in the ad and did receive it a week or so later. I don't remember the exact dates.

We got exactly what we expected in a timely and professional manner. Detailed plan for the entire landscape design, including quotes on labor and material costs if we were to hire them to complete the plan. Initially, the plan didn't come along with the quote... Originally we were concerned that we mis-interpreted the A.L. deal we purchased. But when we called and said there was no plan, it turned out to be an "oops" that it wasn't included and they came by our house the same afternoon to deliver the plan in person, apologizing for not including it in the original quote. We are planning to have Weston come back and implement the design in the spring.

I requested a design plan for a patio to include a solution to a drainage problem. The first plan only listed the plants they wanted to sell me. I had to request a better plan. Again there were elements presented in the 2nd plan that I specifically told him I did not want, so he needs to give me another plan. I purchased this service in August and still do not have a workable plan at the end of October. Now there is no time to put it in until Spring.

Just received the estimate last week. Awaiting Lyons to complete their work so Weston can get started...

Very professional all around from designer to landscapers. Arrived on time and finished when promised. Even used a leaf blower on my yard to make everything look perfect. Can't say enough about Chip, the designer or the landscape workers, Will and Mike.

I ordered this Big Deal on September 2, 2013. My initial contacts, on September 3, 2013, with Weston Nurseries were very impressive. My communication and inquiries (both email and telephone contacts) that were handled by the office staff were professional, friendly, and very helpful. I was highly impressed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Weston Nurseries would accommodate my work schedule and have a Landscape Designer meet with me on a Saturday. I then got a follow up call from the Landscape Designer on September 6, 2013. We made an appointment to meet in a little over a week, and we then met as scheduled. The Designer was prompt, friendly, and professional. He brought along an album of his previous work for me to see the type of landscaping plans and work he had done, which was very helpful. We reviewed photos of elements of the design that I would like to include, and I provided him ideas of some type of plants/trees that I was interested in including. We walked the property, with the emphasis on a rock garden/hill area that had incorporated into it crumbling railroad steps that needed to be replaced. I requested, and he agreed, to provide a break out of costs on two layers - 1) reworking the hardscape; and 2) the new plantings. When he left, he told me to expect the plans in a week or two. Up until this point, I had been thoroughly impressed with Weston Nurseries, and everyone I had dealt with there. When three weeks had passed, with no word from the Designer, I contacted Weston Nurseries on October 5, 2013, to ask where the plans were. The Designer indicated he was away from the office, but would contact me on Monday, October 7, 2013, to schedule a second meeting to deliver the plans. Monday October 7, 2013 came and went without any contact from him. On the Wednesday, October 9, 2013, I had to call again. I was informed that the plans were done, and I asked him to email them to me. When I asked why I did not hear from him on Monday, as he had indicated, he had no comment. I received the plan by email two days later, on Friday, October 11, 2013. And I must say I was rather disappointed. This disappointment may be due to my over-expectation. The plan struck me as bare bones. Although it did incorporate certain elements that I had requested be added, it contained almost no other elements that I would consider a contribution to the design by a Landscape Designer - so I'm not even sure why I bothered with getting a professional design. (At my prior residence, a new condo community, each condo had private courtyard, and local landscape designers provided proposals with plans and quotes free of charge which were as detailed or more detailed than the one I just paid for under this Big Deal.) The view of the rock/hill is provided from a bird's eye view only, and the plan as sketched does not appear to work with the three tiered layer of rocks/boulders that will need to be taken into account. The plan did not address one or two items that I had expressly inquired about. And finally, the plan came with no quote for costs for any element. I can only assume that this project was considered too small to garner much attention, and that so much time passed (a month) between the Designer's view of the property and his drawing up of the plans that his recall of the details suffered, and thus so did the plan. Overall, my thoughts are: I feel like I've had to chase down the Designer to get these plans, and I've yet to get the quote. If this is the level of attention I am going to get when the option of hiring Weston Nurseries to do this work,is on the table, what level of attention could be expected once they were to be awarded the contract? I am not optimistic, and thus feel I'll look elsewhere to get the work done. Update: Following the above review, I was recontacted by the Designer who tried to address all of my concerns. His efforts included a revised sketch and budget. I'm still not sure what I will do with this project; I will likely take some time to consider some options. However, I appreciated the extent that this company went to attempt to make me a happy customer.

They know their stuff. I live alone so there was no one at home when they did their work. When I came home that night they were finishing and it all looked spectacular.

They stood behind their work until all was completed to our total satisfaction! The plants were lovely and the best any money could buy. They went above and beyond our expectations. We love our new front yard!

We were very pleased with their garden design and plant suggestions and will use them when we put the plan into place. Their stock was wonderful! They had lots of varieties of plants including some unusual choices we haven't seen in other nurseries.

I got a simple design that took 2 months to do and no follow up.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it wasn't worth the money. They gave me an estimate and a sketch of some work after a long time. What they want to do is costly and I think it is overpriced. They are very nice and efficient. A man came and looked at my yard, and I think they were overbooked, so it took him long to advise where the planting would go, and a sketch to go with it. I am having someone else doing it for half the price.

Weston Nurseries contacted us right away looking to set up the at house consultation, which we did about a week after purchasing their Big Deal. They were professional during the meeting, listening to our thoughts and making suggestions based on what we told them we liked (e.g., low maintenance, bright colors, etc.). The plans were supposed to be emailed to us a couple weeks later and then we'd set up another time to review them together and determine if this was going to be a DIY project for us or if we wanted Weston Nurseries (or any other landscapers) to perform the work based on the estimate they would provide during the review. Two weeks came and went - we just heard from Weston Nurseries this past Friday (couple weeks past the date they told us). The voicemail indicated we should have already received the designs but we haven't yet. Not a big issue - we understand companies get busy, especially when they offer a Big Deal that sells out on Angie's List. We're following up with them this week to get the plans and make the appointment to review them.

They did a beautiful job! Kris Romaniak designed the two areas and they are really lovely. Josh and his crew were punctual, efficient, and pleasant. They even helped out with a few extras, transplanting some "discards" from the front yard and pulling a few really nasty invasive vines from the backyard. The only area for improvement: communication/coordination with the management....took a while to get through for scheduling and there was some mis-communication about meet ups (to see the plan at the nursery and then to schedule the final date). So that tested my patience. But in the end the work was very good and the garden looks beautiful!

I bought a "special" on Angie's List. Landscape design for $199. Sounded like a great deal - and it was! Weston Nurseries contacted me almost immediately after I hit send. We made an appointment and a landscape designer, Kris came to my house within a week. He was prompt and professional. A week later, I went out to Weston Nurseries and was able to see the design and Kris walked me around the property, showing me the plants that he would use in the design. If I didn't like something, He was quick to think of a replacement. Did I do the work? Not yet. The design was beautiful but the price for the work was more than I had expected - 50% more. I am still thinking about it. The cost includes a discount on the plants and a 1 year guarantee. Would I recommend this service? Absolutely. I couldn't be happier with the portion I paid for. Just be ready, it's quality work and the price may be steeper than you expect.

Except for re-seeding of grass, (delayed 3 days at my request), the project is virtually complete;Chip prepared and the Weston Nurseries crew implemented a good landscape design to fit my needs. Chip and all of the crew were punctual, polite, and professional . The crew cleaned up well after their work. The price was reasonable. I am excited about the new plants and how my back yard will look after the grass re-seeding is completed.

My experience went very well. The staff was friendly and professional. I was pleased with the design provided. I am looking forward to having them do the work. I would recommend this company to others.

Very well. Visited Weston Nurseries to receive the completed plan and see some of the suggested plants. I had provided a list of plants/rhododendron that I have available to include in the plant and this was done. We will be doing some tweaking of the plan to incorporate a few more of my own plants and to make adjustments for one area that is sunnier than the plan would indicate. Very professionally done and the landscape architect had already reserved a few specimens that he would like to use. I most likely will go ahead with the implementation this fall in order to give the plants a head start and take advantage of the fall sales prices.

I was really very excited about this. Having a professional landscaper offer a vision for the front yard was something I'd been considering for a while and when the big deal was offered, I jumped at it. I thought I couldn't loose--even if we did not decide to go forward with the company for installation, the plan would be there and reflect a considered opinion of how to move forward with landscaping our new home. The initial contact was great--punctual and professional. On the day of, the designer was running late, but called to let me know. Maybe my vision of how this process should have gone was really off-base but I thought the reason that we were meant to meet and look at the space together was because he wanted to collect some information on what we might be thinking about with the space--what the goals were--what plants we enjoy and how we can take care of the space. That really didn't unfold. We had a very brief conversation after which I was entirely dismissed by the designer. It felt like there had been no reason for me to be there at all, which of course since I had arranged to take the time was a little annoying. That made me apprehensive about the design, but I was game to see what he would come up with. The design arrived well after it was promised and again--maybe my expectations are the problem, but it seemed really disappointing to me. The computerized sketch is challenging to put into terms that someone not familiar with landscape design could understand --vague blobs of plant life here and there--some which had names attached, some of which did not. The full names of plants I took from the quote to look up online myself as there was absolutely no narrative description of them. Again, maybe that's an unreasonable expectation--I don't know--I just assumed that there would be some information to help us go on. Even a description of why this was a good plan for our space and what it would look like would have been helpful. I was also frustrated that none of the existing plants from our yard were kept in the design (as far as I could tell since not all plants were labeled) except for some juniper which then we were charged for in the quote. Of course, had we decided to go forward with the plan I would have pointed this out, but it seemed a little sloppy and was another disappointment. I understand that a designer wants to work with the materials they want to work with to make someone according to a vision, but I kind of fail to see how some of our existing plants couldn't have been worked in--hydrangea, rhododendron, salvia, hosta, lilac--these did not seem like unsuitable plants and some of them are specifically things I said we enjoyed. In fact, none of the plants I listed as ones we would have specifically liked to bring in were. Overall, I felt like this is really an afterthought kind of service--like they didn't really care one way or another if it moved to the next stage. I certainly don't want to feel pressured into anything saleswise, but if I'm going to spend thousands of dollars on something I would like to really understand what I'm spending it on and be sure it's all in the best interest of my space. There was nothing in this service that helped me feel that way. It really felt like a waste of money.
