About us

T. Dawson Architecture has been in business since 2004, in Hopkinton, MA, home of The Boston Marathon, and part of Boston's MetroWest Area. Hopkinton borders the Interstate 495 and Rt. 9 business cooridors, as well as being a spacious residential community of New England, and Massachusetts. Thomas A. Dawson, AIA, LEED AP, as sole-proprietor and founder of the architectural firm, specializes in responsive and site- sensitive design, in both residential and commercial applications. The firm prides itself on the ability to listen to clients' needs and aspirations, creatively blending design with appropriate and possible sustainable (green) solutions, to aid in the task of problem-solving on any architectural project. In Residential circles, Tom has a vast portfolio of both designed and built residential homes, additions, renovations, etc. Many GC-General Contractors have commented positively on TDA's knowledge of the construction process, accuracy of it's construction documents, and the principal's ability and availability to solve problems in the field, either before or during construction. TDA's start was with residential clientele, in 2004. In the Commercial arena, Tom has recently successfully completed several design projects for Parsons Commercial Group, in Framingham, MA, for both the commercial real estate brokerage firm itself, and it's tenants, potential lease-holders, etc. Last year (2010), with the completion of a large exterior mall facelift project in Bellingham, MA, much to the pleasing of the Owner, TDA has been able to gain momentum in the commercial real estate sectors, providing architectural services, code review, client-contact and consulting, etc., leading to a growing commercial client base. What can TDA do to help your company today!? Thomas A. Dawson, AIA, LEED AP is a Massachusetts state-registered architect, reg. #20327 (design professional), a member of the AIA - American Institute of Architects, and a LEED AP, or LEED 2.0 accredited professional. LEED is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a program initiated by the USGBC, or United States Green Building Council. Tom has worked for several architectural firms in Boston and surrounding towns and suburbs, since entering the profession in 1986. Tom has a B ARCH degree from The Boston Architectural Center (now College), 1993. In addition to being a crazy-avid recycler, dog lover, passive environmentalist (I don't plug factory outfalls in small boats owned by GreenPeace), outdoor enthusiast, downhill and XC mountain biker, snowboarder, and skier, Tom is an Eagle Scout, and has also been a Scout Master for one of two BSA - Boy Scouts of America troops in Hopkinton, MA. Tom and his son, Drew, also have an affinity for Ford Motor Company, and all things cars and basically anything with wheels. Tom is lucky to also have a daughter, Sydney, and a beautiful, professional, and supportive wife, Lee. Oh, and please do not forget our beloved Golden Retriever, Tucker!
