Ellen was wonderful. As a new and first time homeowner I was overwhelmed with what colors to choose for multiple rooms in our house. Ellen met with me to go over options and made suggestions that she thought would work in the rooms, she then provided me with real paint samples, where I could see what the paint actually looked like instead of just the little tiny swatch you get at the store. They were large adhesive pieces that I could hang up, move around and really decided what worked best. She also suggested the color of my daughter's nursery and it is by far my favorite room in the house. We also needed wallpaper removed in two different rooms, and this was done beautifully. During the whole process we were also moving our furniture in, which was not easy but Ellen and her team handled the craziness wonderfully. We had a living room, den, dining room, 4 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom painted, wallpaper removed in 2 rooms, 4 closets, doors, and trim all painted and the work was done in a week! I was incredibly happy with the work Ellen and her team did and will definitely hire her again when we need a few more rooms completed.

Ellen was excellent! She came out to look at the job the day after I contacted her, provided an estimate in 24 hours and scheduled the work for the following week. She was in communication with me every day about arrival times and next steps to complete the work. As a general contractor I have experience with dozens of trades people and Ellen's communication is far superior to almost all trades people that I have worked with which is so important to a good experience. This was our second time hiring Ellen and we are so glad we did. We gutted our old.basement space and finished with new dry wall. Our basement space has many nooks and crannies, a nook for a washer dryer, a heating vent on the ceiling, several supporting pillars, a full bath and a long set of stairs leading down. She and her crew did such an awesome job in the space - I am grateful every time we are enjoying the space. Besides the fact that she is an awesome painter, she is also so professional, easy to work with and reliable in all her communication. Her crew always cleans up at the end of the day and keep the space neat and tidy even during a multi day job. I shared some of the bathroom tiles with Ellen and she recommended a color that went perfectly with the space. I would highly recommend her. I am already thinking of her for all our new painting jobs over the summer.

We hired Pierce Painting & Decorating to paint the interior and exterior of our home and cannot be more elated with the results. The exterior project was first and was taken care of over the summer of 2018. We live in a 2500 sqft home in Newton and there was an extensive amount of prep work to be done. The house was thoroughly scraped, fully oil primed and painted for the winter, we left for our annual month long vacation to a warmer climate and had the interior of our home refreshed. We hadn’t painted in about 5 years and everything now looks completed updated and beautiful. We couldn’t be happier with Ellen and her team. We love working with Ellen! She and her team did a beautiful job painting several rooms in our house, as well as a ceiling and wooden frames, while simultaneously coordinating refinishing of our kitchen floor. We really appreciated how patient Ellen was throughout the planning process. We had several questions and follow ups, and scheduling considerations given we have a little one. We also had to modify the plan a bit due to budget and she was very gracious about adjustments. Finally, Ellen worked over some holidays to make the project come together which was extremely gracious and exemplary of her approach. Ellen was responsive, flexible, professional, and reliable in communication, coordination, and execution and to a level we don’t normally expect with contractors. We look forward to another project with Ellen and her team!

Ellen had provided us estimates for painting our whole house a year ago and unfortunately I did not go with her. I still regret that! However I called her a year later saying I had a smaller job in the basement and if she would be interested. I loved the fact that she was still so responsive, got us an estimate right away and was honest about her timeframe when she could do it. She was true to her word, worked 12 hour days for 2 consecutive days and finished the work over the weekend. The work was flawless. She was so professional and committed. I would definitely recommend her. We will definitely have her come back for any of our jobs in the future.

We asked Ellen to help us select colors and paint much of our downstairs as well as our master bedroom and upstairs hallway. There were several rooms involved and we selected several different colors including accent walls. Every step along the way Ellen was collaborative and patient. She sampled colors extensively on our walls and created a helpful color sheet that showed the totality of the selections so we could imagine how things worked together. It is critical that anyone who is going to be in your house for several days be trustworthy and Ellen was absolutely trustworthy. We were totally comfortable with her around our kids, valuables and pets. They could not have been more accommodating to ensure that their work was as limited an interference of our lives as possible. Ellen was not the cheapest bid that we received, nor was she the most expensive. I feel like we received value for money, the work was done with care and precision and a strong sense of craftsmanship and pride. I would absolutely hire her again. It was a very rewarding experience and the house looks great.

Fantastic work! Ellen was very responsive, communicative, and flexible throughout the entire process. Ellen, Andrew, and Nelson did flawless painting and wallpapering, and had great attention to detail. If/when I have another project, I look forward to working with Pierce Painting and Decorating again!

I am delighted with the work that Ellen and her team did. The results themselves are beautiful, however, the attentiveness and service went well beyond just the consultation on color swatches. When the project hit a potential snag (damp walls in the bathroom), Ellen not only shifted gears to be able to complete the project quickly, but also gave excellent guidance on what options I had to remedy the trickier situation. I would absolutely hire them again!

Ellen's work was amazing! We have old, plaster walls and Ellen patched the walls and made them much smoother (a miracle!). In addition to patching, we have lead paint which she is licensed to address as an RRP contractor which was important to us. Lastly, Ellen is extremely professional (timely/responsive), and aims to please. Prior to the final payment, she does a walk through and is more than willing to address touch-ups -- she truly wanted us to be happy with her work! As a result, we are very happy customers and will be asking her to do further work for us.

Great! Ellen's team did all the work in the week before we moved into the house, and our neighbors reported that they were respectful and clean. Ellen ensured that everything was done quickly and well, and the house was clean and sparkling when they finished.

We were very pleased with the work done by Pierce Painting in our apartment. Ellen was so good to work with. She is a great communicator who responded in a very timely manner to any call or email we sent her. Workers were very professional and the work done was of the best quality. Care was taken to protect floors and surfaces not being worked on. High quality materials were used and Ellen did not hesitate to replaster and repaint if a surface was not perfect. Pierce Painting carried their professionalism into their cleaning up after their work was done, assuring the space was left free of dust or dirt. I would highly recommend this company.

My wife, daughter and I give Pierce Painting and Design our highest endorsement. Having great taste is impressive, but it's even more impressive that Ellen was able to work with us to come up with colors that we each loved and all loved. We painted the exterior of the house and much of the inside, too. Ellen was on budget and on time. You won't find a crew that is nicer to be around or who does a better job than Ellen's crew. And, she did so many thoughtful things to make her work exceptional. One example was that she was willing to move her schedule to accommodate our vacation. This allowed us to have the work done in the busy sections of our house while we were away. It was amazing to return to find the work done AND all of our wall-hangings re-hung - even a wall full of photos going up our staircase. She took digital photos of the wall so she could replace each photo in its place. Ellen is exceptional and we enthusiastically recommend her.

Ellen was very professional and helpful in determining what colors to paint the inside of our new home. The job was completed timely and they did a great job! I appreciated that everything was cleaned up at the end of each day.

The bathroom had been in need of a good paint job ever since we bought the condo, 10 years ago. There was bare plaster in a few places from hasty repairs, stains inside the embedded cabinet... it looked very sad. I didn't even know what color I wanted to paint it and went over a number of samples that Ellen made for me. I had had the experience of feeling pressured to make a decision with other contractors, but not with Ellen. She'd deliver the samples and wait for me to get in touch with her. Given the orientation of the room and all the different shadows that the angles cast on the walls, she recommended to leave the samples/swatches on the walls and look at them at different times of day and move them around. I know it sounds like common sense, but nobody had ever told me that! She gave me an estimate and explained in detail the qualities of the paint and finish that she'd recommend for the project. Again, something that no one else had done. The project was done in the time frame she had estimated, her crew arrived on time and the job was done impeccably. When the job was done and it was time to do the walkthrough I realized that the color I had chosen was considerably darker in the back wall, where there is a shelf. I asked to have it painted with the white trim paint they had use, and they did it... even though that was not in the original specs for the job! Ellen later noticed a few details that I hadn't seen, but she took care of the whole thing yet again. The sense I had working with Ellen is that she puts herself in the shoes of her clients, so you don't have to chase her with phone calls/emails/whatever, because she responds quickly and effectively. It was the smoothest ride I've ever had with a contractor!

Everything was very professionally and pleasantly handled from initial visit/estimate to the day the painting crew arrived and did an incredibly neat job of smoothing out all imperfections and painting the two rooms.

Ellen & her team were fantastic from start to finish. It was always easy to get in touch with Ellen and she was extremely responsive to all of my questions. She came to do an initial estimate, then came back for a detailed color consultation throughout the entire house. She provided great advice. Once the work started, she and her team worked quickly and consistently. Ellen always kept us up-to-date on what time they would start and finish each day, along with any issues that arose along the way. They were very considerate of our living space and worked with us to decide which rooms to do at which times, to best accommodate our family and guests. I really feel like Ellen and her team went above and beyond, doing way more than I expected from our painters. They were consistently reliable and professional, and Ellen is very knowledgeable and reassuring. I wouldn't hesitate about hiring them again for any painting project.

Ellen and her team did an excellent job repainting the living room, bedroom and bathrooms of my condo. She was very responsive with meeting with me and giving me an estimate of the time it will take and the price. She was very helpful with picking colors. I had a time constraint to move in asap so she managed to squeeze me in and do the job in a timely fashion. The painting of the walls is great, professionally done! I would recommend them.
