Description of Work: Provided counter tops based on my template and I installed them. There was one small crack in a difficult spot, and the didn't polish the underside of the overhangs (most providers do). Otherwise, they did a nice job.

Description of Work: They repaired a crack in my kitchen granite countertop. The repair is virtually invisible. Great job, and a reasonable price, too.

Terrible service extremely rude and unprofessianl
Description of Work: We contacted this company's Sudbury office to help renovate our fireplace. We wanted to cover the old brick fireplace with black granite.. They told us they would be able to do the work and we purchased the granite. When the workmen arrived they told us the granite could not be placed over the bricks until they were made even to let the granite sit flush. Then they said they could not do the work and that we had to hire other contractors to do the work. After hiring another contractor they came back and put the granite on crooked. When we complained, they were very rude and unprofessional. They removed the granite and left it sitting out in the front yard for weeks. They never called or checked on the job again. We hired another company to finish the job and they did an excellent job.

The procees went OK but not great. When we met with German in the Mendon office I rasied two concerns that I had. The first was how they would handle the appliance cabinet that was sitting on my coutertop and the second was how they would handle the ceramic tile and trim that I have on the walls above the counters in some areas. I was told that granite counter tops were thinner than formica countertops and that plywood would be used to adjust the height (this is in the contract) and that while the installers would be very careful it is possible that one or two of the trim pieces could be damaged. I was Ok with these reponses. Three installers and one supervisor came to do the installation.. The supevisor started to size up the job. Something I would have expected to happen after the contract was signed not at instalation time. Upon looking at the tile trim he asked if it would be easy just to get new trim. I said no as I had been unsuccessful in finding replacements for several years. We told him to go ahead with the installation anyway because at this point there was no turning back. All the fabrication had been done and I had given them $4000 already. First there was no plywood base, so there was a gap between the countertop and the appliance cabinet and the countertop and the tile and the countertop and the wallpaper. We were told that the reason there is no plywood base was that it can be seen and was unsightly which made sense. Someone in fabrication needs to tell the sales people in the showroom about this. The installer then tried to move the trim down to meet the countertop. Most of the trim pieces broke and were not usable. The three young men who were doing the installation were very responsible, polite, and professional. As they were finishing up the instalation Rodrigo came to us with a recommendation of how we could address the trim issue. They could fabricate a 1/2 in round edge trim piece to sit on top of the countertop to meet the tile. This sounded like a real good option and we agreed to try it. They came back in a week with this trim and it worked out well. But I still have a gap under the appliance cabinet and I have to repaper all the other walls because of the gap left there. One more thing. When we signed the contract we were then shown two pieces granite that would be used for out order. We agreed that they were acceptable. One of the two pieces had more pattern in it than the other and I marked that piece for my island. When the installation was complete I noticed that the piece I wanted for the center island was on another counter top. I realize that a special effort would need to have been made during the fabrication process to make sure the island had the brightest part of the design on it but given that I had earmarked a specific piece for the island I expected that to happen. An "A" shop would have taken that extra effort. All in all the experience was OK not great.
Description of Work: They replaced the formica countertops in my kithcen and a half bath with granite. First we met with Greman the sales person in the Mendon office to explain what we wanted to accomplish. When all the detials of the dimensions and edging were complete we were given a contract and gave them a deposit of 1/2. Next one individual came to the house and laid out a template for all the sufraces. Then the team of 3 came to the house and installed the contertops. There were dates set at each milestone and everything happened on time. The whole effort was completed within a month.

OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS A GOOD ONE. THOUGH THEY DID FAIL TO COMMUNICATE A FEW MINOR ISSUES, SUCH AS FEES FOR REMOVAL OF OLD FORMICA COUNTERS, WITH US, UNTIL THE WORKERS ARRIVED WITH THE NEW COUNTERS. THEY WERE QUICK TO RECTIFY THE MISCOMMUNICATION. WHEN WE HAD A QUESTION ABOUT WHETHER A FISSURE IN THE SURFACE WAS A PROBLEM WE WERE IMPRESSED THAT THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY CAME TO OUR HOUSE AND WENT OVER ALL THE WORK AND SPENT TIME WITH US MAKING SURE WE WERE COMPLETELY SATISFIED. THE DESIGNER WAS ALSO VERY GOOD AT RECOMMENDING DIFFERENT DESIGNS THAT ACTUALLY MADE THE SURFACE OF THE COUNTERS AND ISLAND LARGER. THE COUNTERS WERE INSTALLED PERFECTLY AND WE WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
Description of Work: WE HAD SUDBURY GRANITE REMOVE OUR OLD FORMICA COUNTERS AND REPLACE THEM WITH NEW GRANITE COUNTERS AND SINK.
