I tried to meet them at the site (we're renovating an old house that we recently bought) on the same day (or the day after) I called for a quote, but it didn't work out; I think their earlier appointment went long. No big deal. I expected they'd let me know when to meet them the next time they could make it out. A day or so later, I got a call from the guy, who was at the site (he hadn't called to let me know so I could meet him there, as I'd expected). He had some questions. I thought, fine; I was getting ready to head out of town, anyway, so I was pretty busy. I was gone for ten days over Christmas and New Year's. When I got back into town, since I hadn't heard from them, I expected a price quotation to be waiting for me in my mail. There was nothing. I called and left a message. No response. I called again and left a message. No response. My best guess is that they didn't want to bid my insulation job, for whatever reason. At the very least I would expect a return call, explaining why they couldn't help me. Or at least even an inflated quote. Instead, they simply did not respond at all. Very odd. And frustrating, since it held me up for a few extra days. I wanted to include them in my decision, but, alas, I'll be choosing between two bids, rather than three.

This is a follow up since my latest review. Although it did take over a week for the company to get back to me regarding the paperwork that needed to be submitted to obtain a rebate working through the WGand E, the necessary paperwork was submitted in less than a week once the phone contact was made.

I am happy with the job that was done, however, I have contacted the company by phone 3 times this week to obtain the necessary paperwork to apply for a HELPS rebate which the gas and electric company participates in. Each time I am told that the person that must handle the necessary paperwork is not in the office and will call me back. It is now day four and still no return phone call from anyone. If this person is not going to be available for a known amount of time, I would please ask them to just inform me. I have been staying home waiting for a return phone call.

Estimate was given on 5/13 and was scheduled for 6/11. We received a call on 5/17 that their schedule had changed and would it be OK to move up the insulation to 5/18 ??The crew was here on time and it took 6 guys 5 hrs of work to complete the job. We have a 1950 Cape and were very pleased with the outcome. We have flower beds surrounding the entire house and they were very careful of the plantings and even protected the mulch with tarps so little of the blown in insulation actually landed in the beds....We had a pre and post energy audit done to qualify for a rebate and the auditor was impressed with the workmanship when he inspected the job. The estimate took almost 2 hours and was very intensive.... all of our questions were answered and it was a learning experience for us.We are very happy with the outcome and will recommend to anyone... THANKS to Mike and the whole crew !!

He charged $100 each for the gable vents and $300 for the insulation work. Work took about 21/4 hrs. The labor price seemed high, but at least he was willing to come and do this small job, which many firms are not willing to do. He also had me inspect the bays when all the insulation was out, before he replaced the insulation, which I appreciated. He did a rough "shop vacuum" after the job, but there was still a lot of vacuuming I had to do, both in the attic and the house, afterwards. Overall, they have a very solid reputation, and did a good job for us.
Description of Work: He cut out a 4X4 foot section of flooring in the crawlspace attic to remove old, wet cellulose insulation due to ice dam leaks; replaced new cellulose insulation and replaced back the floorboards. Put in two new 12X12" vinyl gable vents to ventilate the crawl space better.

I was very impressed with my dealings with this company. They were prompt, answered all my questions and cleaned up any residue from the blown in insulation. They arrived at the times they promised and when the job was finished there was no mess to clean up. Communication with the owners who are also the workmen was 100%!!!
Description of Work: My call to Pelletier was promptly answered by Patty. She had Ron call me the same day and an appointment was made for that afternoon. The brothers were prompt and quickly did a review of the house and gave me an estimate and details of the work that would be done. The work was to be completed in two days. They arrived on Wed. 7/27 and did the insulating of the walls. On 7/28 they completed the job with the insulation of the attic.

They came when they said they would and worked very efficiently for most of one day to remove the old insulation and install the new insulation. When it was done they cleaned up pretty thoroughly (although I did some additional vacuuming after they left). But by and large I was pleased with both the quality of their work and the clean-up afterwards. They explained why they were doing what they did, and convinced me that it would be a big help when the snow flies next winter. I hope it is!

I called the company on 12/23, asking if they could give me an estimate on blowing insulation into an attic space. They arrived at 7 AM the next morning, looked at the space and offered to do the job right then. Since I wanted to get the job done in 2010 for tax purposes, I said yes to their price. I have no way of knowing if the price was high or not, but it was acceptable to me. They were done in an hour. They left a small mess that took me 2 minutes to clean up.

My stepfather had some sales representative over the house trying to sell him some 'space age insulation' that would reduce his heating bills by 25% (a lie, it was radiant barrier, like tin foil, good for ~10% savings). After making him negate his contract I looked for a reputable local contractor here, and I contacted Pelletier Insulation. I did my research and determined that haveing R-49 in the attic would make a world of difference vs. the current R-19 that was up there. Patty of Pelletier made the arrangements, at a time convenient to my stepfather. They Showed up promptly at 7:00 AM, were friendly and efficient. They quickly blew in 10" of additional insulation to the attic of his single story ranch house. They then installed a rigid foam barrier to the top of the attic opening hatch door. They cleaned up were on their way. It was easy-piezy, and will save him ~30% on his heating bills. I plan on having them come to my home to insulate the exterior walls when I get the funds.

Wow, I called them on Tuesday AM and they answered the phone and were really nice. By that mid afternoon that had visited my home and were able to give an estimate by looking at just the outside. They did the job two days later, and were super fast. I had originally planned to use a handyman service to do the venting, but they did it and saved me a lot of money. I could not be happier, thanks!

They were very prompt. After seeing the house they had to raise the estimate by $200.00. They got my Ok and proceeded. When they were done, they said it had been easier than anticipated and they only charged the original price of $900. A really good experience. Thank you Angie's List.

I called 3 insulation companies from Angie's list, Pat, from Pelletier called me back immediately. Both brothers came out to the house at my convenience and were here on time. The 2 brothers are not polished salespeople but are the ones who do the work. They quickly opened up our vinyl siding, drilled a hole and showed us that there is no insulation in the walls. They looked at our attic space, breezeway and cellar and gave us a price for insulating just the house as the attic did not need it and the breezeway would not benefit from it. I could have scheduled the job right away , but of course wanted 2 other estimates. One insulation co. never returned my calls and the other took a full month to finally get me an estimate. (See related story on Cellu-spray.) I called Pelletier back about 1 month later to schedule the job. After scheduling the job for 9/25, Pat called me twice with other earlier dates to see if that would work for us. We took the second date and had the job done early on 9/09. I was told that they would come sometime after 10:00am and they did arrive at 11:00am and got to work. The 2 brothers and another have quite the system and they were finished by 2:00pm. When we questioned about the dormer walls, we were reminded that we were told that there was already fiberglass in the walls and they did not need insulation. I did not remember that although I see that I was mistaken in that I did not understand that the fiberglass they say was in the attic extended to the dormers. Even though everything was put away, without prompting both brothers immediately opened up the truck, took out the ladder and drill and went up to the dormer to pull off the vinyl siding, drill a hole to make sure that the walls were filled with fiberglass and reassure us. It was no problem for them to assure us and show us that everything was alright. They then offered me some advice on insulating pipes and doors and offered to return in the cooler weather with an infra-red camera to show us what the heat loss now looks like. He just asked that we call them when it gets colder out so they will show up when we are home. They did their job and cleaned up well and the price was right. All in all in was a good experience and we are very glad we chose Pelletier Insulation.
