The plumber we had used in the past (recommended by a co-worker) was suddenly nowhere to be found--disconnected business phone. We came straight to Angie's list and saw positive reviews of Mr. Rooter. I called and right away spoke with a real person (no answering machine!) who very pleasantly scheduled a free estimate the very next day. "3 to 5" was the window given, but at 3 pm sharp Jim showed up. He was very professional, very respectful, and carefully listened to what we wanted to do and wrote out a very clear estimate. We decided that evening to have the work done and when we called the next day, Jim was able to come out at 1 pm! The handle/spout removal, trip to a nearby town to pick up specialty parts (because of the age of the fixtures), and installation all together took only a couple of hours and the total cost was right in the middle range of the estimate. Jim even inspected the sink, washer and dryer, and water heater free-of-charge, then gave us an estimate on some work we're considering doing on an outdoor faucet. Very well worth every penny. And the work carries with it a 60-day warranty.

Set up appointment online and the company called the day before to confirm. He arrived 15 minutes early and was very professional and friendly. Went over all work thoroughly. We just decided the price was too high for the work, but he remained courteous and left a detailed estimate of services we needed.

This is assuming the office i called (1-866-686-0723) is connected to this office--I believe they are all connected on por Springfield, MA area. I had called a different plumber earlier, but he was in CT so he refered me to Mr. Rooter, as he has done work for them in the past. Mr. Rooter's man came within 30 minutes. When he told me the cost i did a double take, and i knew that the other plumber charged at least $100 less. I asked Mr. Rooter man if he'd mind if i called the other guy back to see when he could get to my house and he said yes, because he knew him. I had to leave a message with his answering service, so we waited about 20 minutes chatting to see if he would call back. He never did. So Mr. Rooter man got to work and had it done in 10 minutes. He brought up a sample of the roots--pretty big! Long-short: the service is great but the price is high. But when your basement floor is covered in sewage, you sometimes have no choice but to go with the fastest. In Mr. Rooter man's favor, he knocked 30 bucks off the price for me--I suspect they probably do that routinely when people balk, but hey, every little helps. I say "I paid too much" in the section below because i know others do this same service for much less.

Great! COnsidering that we started by snapping the handle off of our kitchen faucet yesterday evening. I called at 7 AM; answering service was polite and said I could expect a call after 8 AM. At about 8:30 I got the call, and learned that I should go out and buy a new faucet that I liked, and arranged that the serviceman would call shortly before he arrived. Got the faucet; got the call, and he arrived before I could. No fuss, one price, no labor (set price), faucet replaced. Yipee. ALso we have longstanding leak in the U-bend, which we have a gerry-rigged fix for, and the fellow kindly looked at that, and found a missing gasket, which he replaced at no charge.

Another company bailed on me and I found Mr. Rooter on Angie's List. Called and a rep showed up the same day and gave me an estimate on the spot. Price was $1,000 cheaper than two other companies in the area. Job was performed 2 days later and completed in one day. They did an excellent job (although they could have been a bit neater). Would not hesitate to use Mr. Rooter in the future.

The price was more than I thought it would be. However, I have had no issues since. They came out on a Saturday and came quickly, which I was happy with. I think there is a good chance that I would use them again in the future.

Caller a ton of people for quotes. Mr. Rooter came in with the most reasonable quote. They were patient and understanding about us having to wait for insurance money to come in. Once the date was set they were efficient in time and communication. They arrived on time and finished on time. We will use them for whatever plumbing needs we have in the future.

Water was going through the 2nd floor to the floor below. I turned off the valve to the 2nd floor toilet stopping the water flow. I couldn't tell if the water was coming from the valve that is just below the toilet or dripping down the water supply line from the toilet tank above. I called a local plumber and got a message that they MIGHT be out the next day, depending on their schedule. That means they might not be there for a few days either. I then called Mr. Rooter (yellow pages) and was told a person would be there in 1 hour and would give me a price once there. The plumber came in an unmarked white van in 1 hour. He said it was the water supply line causing the problem, not the valve in the wall. The tank flapper was also leaking. The water in the tank had disappeared overnight, yet there was no more water on the floor. He replaced both parts in 10 minutes, including going back and forth to his truck. Neat, courteous and prompt. At $200, it was very pricey considering the parts and time involved, but I couldn't do it myself.
