Description of Work: It was originally planned as a diagnostic service call on a mini split A/C system for the purpose of determining if the system needed a Freon charge. I felt the system wasn't blowing as cold as I thought it should. The tech checked out the system and determined it did not really need a charge but my issue was that the system was sized too by the original installer for the size area it was cooling. The Nicholson tech was very thorough and explained everything to me and presented various options and recommendations. And since he didn't need to perform a complete diagnostics on this relatively new system, he charged me the minimum amount for a service call rather than the original quoted price for system diagnostics. |My only complaint, and it's minor, is that when I originally called to schedule service, I was told they were scheduling 4 to 6 weeks out and that I would get a call when they could schedule me. More than six weeks passed without a call so I called them. They were able to schedule me right then for service a week and a half later. I wished I had called back sooner, but didn't because I was expecting them to call me.

Description of Work: Replaced a toilet. They did the job fine (feel I was overcharged) and persuaded me into a service contract. However, when I saw a price on Angie's list for another job, I was firmly told they don't match anything on Angie's list even though I said I was their customer through this. |Will not use them again.

Description of Work: Remove old furnace/boiler and install new energy efficient Bosch furnace and new hot water heater. Installation went well. However, I had a problem a few days later. Nicholson Plumbing and Heating responded immediately and resolved the problem.

Listened attentively to my concerns and plans for capital improvements to our home. He was able to provide quotes for most things right away but promised prompt follow up on the items that needed more research. | |Only neutral comment was they were supposed to be here between 8 - 8:30 and did not arrive until 9AM with no call.

Description of Work: Quote provided was in my view outrageously expensive. Almost $300 each to replace 2 outside faucets (cost of faucets less than $5 each) and $542 to repair a toilet leak. I fixed the toilet myself in about and hour with parts costing $25. I was required to pay them $55 for their house visit. They had told me about this charge which did not initially concern me because I could not imagine that the cost would exceed the $149 of services that I paid for.

Description of Work: This is the second time that Ryan and Jake came to my house to help. The first time was when my heat went out in January. It took a while to determine the problem but they were able to figure it out; it was a fuse problem in the indoor HVAC unit. The system is old so it will eventually need to be replaced. This time they came to replace the toilet which had been leaking. The toilet was really old and when they were here the first time they said I'd need to replace my toilet soon and they were right. Ryan and Jake are easy to talk to and know what they are doing. They are reasonable and helpful. I like that Jake is working as a high school apprentice learning the trade. It always costs more than you want for these types of things but they did a good job.

Description of Work: I tried Nicholson out using my groupon from Angie's List. I was pleasantly surprised with the level of quality, professionalism and expertise among the team. We have replaced all of our heating and HVAC systems and are very pleased. I highly recommend this business.

Description of Work: I purchased a $99 deal toward $140 in services for Nicholson Plumbing Co. I had my appointment on 12/24, and an agent from Nicholson visited my home too. But it turned out that no immediate repairs were necessary. So, all I ended up paying them the fee for the visit ($55) (I was told that the Angie's list coupon would not apply toward the initial visit). The $99 deal is unused. I am, however, pleased with Nicholson, and will consider them for services that I may need in the future.
