Service went pretty well and they were very professional, neat and clean. We were told that the A/C coolant was just a little low but not enough to notice. About 2 weeks later, our A/C quit working and was just blowing warm air. We brought in another company and they informed us that the coolant was very low. We then had to pay the other company to restore the refrigerant level.

Over the last year, Nicholson has become my go-to local contractor for plumbing/heating/air conditioning issues. The staff are prompt and very professional, scheduling is hassle-free, and I was fully informed about the nature of the issue with my central air conditioner and what work they were going to do. The technician even gave me a few tips to help maintain the unit with the new piping they installed. Their pricing is reasonable. I would use them again without hesitation.

Fantastic. Mr Nickolson himself did the service on a Saturday late afternoon and the system was fully operational within a very short time.

Overall the entire process went very well. Sharon was the initial person who took my call and scheduled the appointment. She was very polite and courteous. On the day of the appointment, Sharon called me in the morning to give me an exact time of arrival of the maintenance technician. Charlie, the maintenance technician, arrived on time for the appointment. He was polite, respectful and professional, and explained the entire maintenance process before starting to do the work. He advised me to schedule a service appointment, which I did, since my system required service work beyond regular maintenance. Approximately a week later, one of the service technicians, Mike, came to do a complete diagnostics of my system and suggested a few options, and gave me quotes right on the spot. He was also punctual, very polite and professional. I intend to do the suggested service work at the end of the summer.

He was very good and it’s been running smoothly since. They had kept in contact with me before the cleaning because they needed a specific cleaning solution for the visit. They were friendly and arrived within the window and called ahead of time. I had first had a problem with the air conditioning unit and they left a flyer in my mailbox. They were here very quickly for that problem. I‘m planning on signing up for a maintenance plan and would recommend their services to others.

They are a very courteous that also gave multiple quotes, but I found them to be extremely pushy and it made me very stressed. The work was good. The problem with them was they were just too pushy and it made me very uncomfortable. There were several things that I asked him about for a potential work we needed done. He kept pushing me to do it that day and it made me very uncomfortable.

They were great and I will have them come back again, that's for sure. I was having some issues with my heating system, it was not putting out the air that it needed to put out, they had checked it over and gave me some recommendations as to what I need to do and it's gonna cost me 1300$, I put it off to be honest because I didn't have it that time. They did change my filter. I think they were on time, I like them and I think they are doing fair; they are good as far as I can see and I think their price is reasonable.

On all measures of quality, friendliness and responsiveness, these guys were excellent.

I called to get an estimate to replace a garbage disposal. I already had a new disposal so it would simply be for labor. They would not give me a price. I was told they would send someone out to look at the job who would quote it. But, if I didn't hire them, I would have to pay a service charge for the visit. This was not a complicated job. I was replacing the old garbage disposal with the same exact model. I felt like it was an intimidation tactic.

I felt as though the two gentlemen were trying to upsell me for the entire time they were at the house. They told me that the thermostat was to blame for the cooling problems and tried to sell me on the idea of installing a thermostat for each zone of the house which would have cost $1,400. I later had another company at the house that accurately diagnosed and rectified the issue for only $350.00. Furthermore, I learned that Nicholson's recommendations would have been an unnecessary expense.

I would hands down recommend them They’re responsive to all my needs, are affordably priced and very nice guys.

i called Nicholson based on the positive feedback from angielist. one of our AC units stopped blowing air so we called Nicholson for them to inspect and repair. the earliest appt was 5 days later. it wasnt a huge issue since our second unit was still operating. the technician was extremely knowledgeable and located the problem right away, the start capacitor. the service call took 15 minutes which was great. the huge issue arose when i got the bill. they charged $312 dollars just for the start capacitor part which when i googled it costs less than $20. i have no problem with companies making a profit but charging $312 for a $20 part is disgraceful. ill never use them again.

Of course our AC died during a heat wave. It took 2 weeks to get a new system, everyone gave me the same time estimate on getting the equipment do this was not their fault. The original estimate was confussing, but Mike the owner called and explained everything, and we got it all worked out. He spent the time explaining everything and outlining all the options. It is a real pleasure working with someone who is willing to work with you in understanding all the options so you can make an informed decision. My only minor complaint was that the cleanup after the job was done was not perfect. There were two sharp sheet metal scraps (about 3" long) on the driveway, that if I did not notice before I backed the car out I would have been very unhappy.

Condenser installed by another company two years ago having issues. First problem was low coolant, which they filled for us. When the problem didn't seem fixed that week, Nicholson came back and performed extensive diagnostics trying to locate the exact issue but could not repair it (coil was freezing/icing over almost immediately). Didn't end up charging us for the tests and we had them install complete new matching Carrier system that week. Very informative through the whole process, never felt like I was being fed a story or brushed off. We are now considering having them replace our ancient water heater with a tankless system.

It was fine. The guy was professional and he seemed knowledgeable but I don't know about air conditioning so I can't about the quality of work around his expertise but he was pleasant to deal with. I can only go by what they've told me but assuming that everything they said is true, I would give them an "A."

Not a smooth experience with Nicholson Plumbing, so this should really be more like a B- or C+; but I would consider using them again if Mike Nicholson himself was doing the work. I was looking for a plumber to replace our outdoor water spigots, and possibly do other plumbing work in our house. I contacted Nicholson Plumbing through Angie's List, and was informed that to have a plumber come to our house to look at the work and give an estimate would cost $55; but that the $55 would be credited to any service we decided to hire them for after the inspection. The plumber (not Nicholson) came and inspected the spigots. He recommended replacing both with frost free models. He also recommended replacing both backup valves, which were older gate valves, with ball valves. After looking at the other work we were thinking of doing, he gave me multiple estimates for different options and told me I would have to decide on one while he was there in order to be credited the $55--even though he didn't have the time or materials to do the work and would have to schedule a return visit. This seems like high pressure sales tactics, and I didn't like it. (As I told the plumber, I was willing to pay the $55, as long as I was eventually going to be credited with the payment when I was ready to decide which service I wanted.) I ended up agreeing to one option on the understanding I could make a final decision before his return. I did so, notifying Nicholson's dispatcher. My wife (who was not home for the original inspection) was home for the scheduled service, and when the plumber came back he didn't do the work I asked; one of the spigots was loose after installation; he didn't install the ball valves; and he charged more than expected. Nor did he adjust the water pressure correctly when he left. Now for the better news: The company quickly acknowledged that the plumber had not done what we had asked, and agreed to have someone come back immediately to correct the situation at a bit of a discount. This time, Mike Nicholson, the company owner, came himself. He was very apologetic and corrected the situation. We only wish he had come the first time.

We are new to the area and never had electric heat. We were pleased with the service received. I don't know that the service cost.

The end result was we got what we needed done but without competitive quotes we are not sure how good the price was.

Good experience he seemed very knowledgable,my a/c system is very old, the technician checked things out and was not able to do very much.I was not charged for the appointment. He did give some great options/ recommondations as to what I should do in the near future. I would certainly use them if I were to replace my a/c system.

I was quite surprised at the final bill. I have three AC units. The filters I needed were not included in the deal so there was na up-charge for that. I think they were on time, followed up and had the right filters. From a service point, they were fine but the price was basically $200 an unit. I do not feel like the offer was a representative of what I had to paid.

They were great and I will continue to use them. They were very professional. courteous, and explained things in detail.

After a bit of a rocky start (over scheduling an initial appointment), I did a 180-degree turnaround in my opinion of Nicholson Plumbing. Their plumber, Steve, spent over two hours talking to us about the relative merits of repairing or replacing our five-year-old, poorly installed Toto toilets. He patiently ran the numbers on various scenarios (repair, replace all three, replace the two that were the iffiest). We decided to go with replacing two of the Totos with Kohler low-flush models. On the day of the installation, Steve arrived on time (after the company had the courtesy to call earlier to let us know that he might be a half-hour late), put drop-cloths in the hallways, and donned booties to protect our floors. The installation went smoothly and efficiently with no nasty surprises (which had been our unhappy experience with the Toto installation). He left everything clean and tidy. Nicholson will be our go-to plumbing company from now on.

Both Mike and Will worked all day without even a break for lunch to get the job done. I would recommend them highly. I have used Nicholson in the past for a plumbing job and was equally as pleased.
