They were great. The price was just fine. They did my yearly maintenance. I have a service plan with them, if anything goes wrong, I can call them up and get it taken care of.

I have an extra size tank, because I have one of those water jet tubs. I have to have a bigger tank than normal. They came right away, they were right on time, they didn't make a mess, and everything worked. I know they did the best they could on price. I haven't had any trouble since. They are a really good group. I have a service contract with my hot water.

Nicholson was able to fit me in on the same day that I called, unlike some other plumbers I called. They were prompt, called before arrival, and the technician was very friendly and professional. He also did a good job of explaining what he needed to fix and why.

Jimmy showed up early which was ok, and he was extremely professional and engaging. Can't say enough great things about him. He was thorough and considerate as well. As expected, the AC unit needed refrigerant. With the discontinuation of R-22 (Freon), the price has jumped substantially. When it came time to discuss options, Jimmy informed me that the price per pound from Nicholson would be $450. He further stated that we would need between 4-6lbs to fill the system up. I held off and made some calls to compare pricing. I found many were offering between $250-$300/lb (33% cheaper) or would not give out a price over the phone. I eventually contacted a provider that had worked on our system in the past to find out that they charge $100/lb plus labor. That tech also explained how the supplier pricing was coming in around $1000 per 30lb tank (~$33/lb). I understand marking up the product, but 15 fold? Where Nicholson quoted me ~$1800-$2700 plus labor, I ended up paying $353 to fill the system, including labor. It only took 2lbs, but that would have still been $900 plus labor if I had went with Nicholson. I will be purchasing a new system in the next year or two, but I can say without reservation that it will not be from Nicholson. They lost a customer with their pricing practice.

Wayne, the technician showed up at my house to ***** the leaks. I had shut off the mains in the house to stop the leaks. He had to turn on the mains and turn on and off a few faucets in the bathroom to see why there was a leak. he was very vague while providing any information also it seemed like he was disinterested in the work and wanted to get out of there as soon as he could. We had to suggest a few things to look over to ***** the situation. All in all a very bad service, I will never hire them again and would not recommend them at all.

Install went very well, price quoted was much more than I thought. Expensive, but needed to get done asap and tech would charge $55 for estimate anyway...

It didn't go. They are still advertising for new customers, but won't accept new customers.

It was time consuming due to the age of the house. The right hardware had to be configured because of the old pipes. It was a bit expensive.

New equipment for full replacement of heating and cooling equipment on order. Waiting for approval from MassSave to use their 0% interest loan to help fund this major expense.

It was a great experience. I called on a Wednesday and the technician came out the next day right on time. He was pleasant to work with. After giving me some options, he performed the repair quickly and it's working great. I also had an additional question about a problem with my kitchen faucet he took the time to help me with at no extra charge. We've used Nicholson before and have been pleased with their professionalism and the quality of the work.

It was the easiest job that was ever done in our home! The service was amazing and it took less time then they originally planned. Awesome work!

The technician, Rick, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, explaining thoroughly what was wrong with the furnace and what he did to repair it. When the problem resurfaced 3 weeks later, he returned and told us it would be more cost effective to replace the unit (~15 yrs. old) than to repair it. They credited the initial repair cost to the final bill and the office was very helpful with calling the manufacturer for warranty coverage refund and with obtaining new rebates. The installation team was efficient and helpful too.

The work was fine and they were good enough to come back and reinstall one toilet, after we discovered that one of the toilets had a hairline crack in the tank and was leaking. In fact, my overall experience with Nicholson has been great, as I've used them to repair and eventually replace a heating furnace (separate review). This review is for plumbing only, as the price was exorbitant for a simple toilet installation - $600 per toilet!

Appointment was made for a Tuesday and we were contacted to see if Monday would work as well. Wayne arrived on time and called an hour before to confirm the appointment. Very professional service. Diagnosis and repair was made quickly. Wayne was in and out in 25 minutes. We didn't do a price compare as Nicholson has always been reliable, great service, and often flexible with scheduling.

They were very clean wore booties while he was here. He was very friendly, personable, and told us everything he was doing while he was here.

Excellent. It was done on a very cold day in December and they stayed late to make sure I had heat before they left. Very professional.

Haven't performed the service yet. But, Nicholson and in particular, Anthony, was very good. he answered questions, was very intent on meeting my needs and followed up many times. He is the kind of representative you want to work with. He made me feel very comfortable and I appreciate that. If HE had a question, he said he wasn't sure and found out the answer instead of giving me some bogus response. I think he is a straight shooter and I like that.

The technician was very nice. He repaired the furnace but when he cleaned another part, it led to an issue in which he needed to return 2 more times to remedy. This was done at no charge since it was technician error. They responded promptly and spent a lot of time making sure my unit was working correctly.

Everything went fine as far as requesting a service call and the plumber arrived on schedule. The plumber was courteous and professional. My issue is with the way they do their pricing. There's a $55 service call, which is applied to the cost of any work done. Fine. When the plumber assessed the situation, on-site, I was quoted the cost to do the 2 repairs by phone. The costs were: $266 for removal of old toilet valve and replacement; and $629 for a new Symmons rebuild kit for the shower. I was informed of the full cost: $895. I questioned these because they seemed very high. I approved it because I felt I had to get the work done for my tenant and didn't want to delay it. I don't fault them for their performance. What I want to inform others about is their way of pricing. Several days later, after I received a copy of the bill, I called their office to get a breakdown of how much the materials cost vs. labor. They would not provide me that information. They said they charge a flat charge for the combined parts and labor depending on what the job is. They said it is so I do not pay extra for a slow plumber. Which then conversely means that I could be paying more than I should have to pay, also. It seems to me I should pay a fair price for the parts plus whatever hourly it takes to get the job done - one hour or 5 hours, whatever it takes. As it happens, for this job, the plumber was there for just under 3 hours. So be aware, if they do work for you, you could be paying "extra" for what they have established as the average time for the job, not for the time it actually takes to do the job. I want to do business with companies who employ the caliber of plumber that make me feel comfortable with the actual time spent. I'd rather pay for just what I get.

Superb! Communication was excellent and Wayne, John and AJ couldn't have been more professional and respectful of our family's needs and home. They did an incredible job and we are more than pleased with the results. It was a painless process all the way through. Mike was very impressive when we first began the process and everyone through the organization has been very responsive and helpful.
