It didn't go well. To begin, the gentleman came out to do the work at a time when I specifically asked him not to do so. Furthermore, he was very rushed, and he didn't install one of the downspouts according to the designs that he drafted. I called him to complain about this, but he stated that it would cost more money to make any changes. He was also very rude to other contractors working on my house at that time.
Description of Work: He installed downspouts on my gutters.

Description of Work: Set up an appointment with Fair Roofing. He was supposed to meet me at my house at 6:00 p.m. He called at 6:00 p.m. and said he could not make it. We agreed that we would meet the next day at the same time. I told him that I had to leave work in Boston to get back in order to meet with him. I waited and he never showed - no call, no nothing. Unbelievable. I had wanted him to check two small areas where we had small leaks from ice dams this winter and to check the integrity of our skylights. Told his secretary we were willing to pay for the inspection - she quoted around $150-200. Anyway, amazing that this guy is this unprofessional. My grade for his company is a resounding F!

He may be fine for new roofs, would caution using him for a smaller job
Description of Work: I have to say I am surprised by these positive reviews and felt compelled to set the record straight. I live in Holliston and wanted someone local to fix our leaky roof. I had another vendor replace our roof about five years ago and obviously something was not done right because we ended up with numerous leaks. We actually had no leaks prior to getting a new roof but decided it was time to replace it (being proactive). We tried dealing with the original roofer who made the mistakes to no avail. He came to try and fix it but we it never solved the problem. We didn't want the hassle of a lawsuit so we decided to move on and pay to have something fix it.. Easier said than done. Matthhew assured us, "He was the man for the job". He made several appointments for us but never showed up. His office always told me he was stuck on a bigger job. He finally came out once to the house after numerous cell phone calls and said he would go up to the roof later that week and give us a quote. He tried to charm me and give me lipservice. He never made it up to my roof and of course and he never even called to give an explanation (even after I called his personal cell phone and office several times). I would come home for days on end wondering if he had gone up on my roof but was never given any correspondence. I have to say it was a very insulting and frustrating experience. I am still wondering what went wrong and looking for someone to fix our roof! I am surprised by the gall and lack of professionalism and common sense of small business owners in this economy. They complain there is no work but then they blow off customers. I know what a lot of roofers are thinking: Why fix a roof when they can make more putting a new one down? What they feel to realize is we are planning on moving soon and guess who will not be called in the event we need a new roof ?(bad business). We are people of means and were willing to pay someone a good amount to fix our roof. So despite these positive reveiws I would be careful with this guy. I can't make any comments on how his work is because we never got to this point. Perhaps he does a great job when he puts a roof on but I was so disgusted with his lack of professinalism that I felt it was my duty to inform others. We are still looking for someone who will repair our roof!!!!!!!

I called Mathew Fair on Thursday to inquire about the cost and timing have a ridge vent installed in my garage roof. He said he was on vacation next week, and had been winding down scheduling in preparation, so he therefore had time for a small job the following day. He gave me a price over the phone, which we negotiated down to $400, and he said he'd stop by to take a look at the shingle color and style later that afternoon, which he did. He said he'd see me in the morning, and early Friday he called to say he'd be at my house around 9:30. He did show up on time, with two employees, and they immediately started work on the ridge vent. I mentioned I also had a small leak around a vent pipe and asked if he would take a look at that, too. About 2 hours later the vent was installed, everything was cleaned up spotlessly, and he had also resealed the flashing around the leak. Despite the extra I had requested, the bill was still $400. He was careful and conscientious, and made me feel that my job was important to him, even though it was tiny and I overheard his office call him while he was here regarding a $65,000 job. Great service!

Excellent experience from the moment I called for an estimate. They were meticulous, punctual and very professional. They cleaned up every day . There price was reasonable for our very large roof. They offered me a variety of shingles and put first class shingles on the roof. Outstanding experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking a new roof. A+

His prices were fair. The crew was meticulous about keeping things neat and tidy. They were very polite. They didn't smoke on our property. It was the best thing we have ever had done to our house. We still look at the roof, and think about what a great job they did!
Description of Work: I used MDF Contracting to put a new roof on our home.

I had an excellent experience with this company. Their bid was one that fell mid-range. They were respectful of my house and my neighbors. They were there to work and not blast loud music. They did a good job cleaning up. We have not had any problems or leaks.
Description of Work: I had this company put a new roof on our house. They had to replace one small part of the sub roofing.
