Massachusetts Awning

Prior to the May 4th installation date, I received a message from Cal that my awning would be arriving soon and scheduled my installation for May 12th. I called him back and asked what happened to May 4th? According to Cal, there was most likely a mix up in the scheduling on his dad's behalf. Fine, May 12th it is. Today, May 12th, I called to confirm the installation and surprise I was not on the schedule AT ALL! Cal indicates he'll follow up w/his dad and will call me back. A couple of hours later, Cal returns my call and lets me know that after some digging, it turns out that my awning was NEVER ordered and that their company no longer services my area. My choices were to have him order the awning and it would take 3 weeks or a refund. Now I'm not feeling very confident with the company at this point and opt for a refund. I hope I don't now have to chase anyone down for it.

His name is Don Mitchell. It was under warranty so it was replaced at no cost. We've been using them for at least 5 years. They are prompt. They did a good job servicing and installing. We should have gotten the Sunsetter awning years ago.

I was so happy with them. The whole experience was positive. They were quick, helpful, professional, and for the price; the quality was unbeatable.

We ordered the awning from this company even though the awning is provided by Sunbrella. Don came to the house, went through all the details and took measurements. No sales pressure, explained all details. Awning delivered by a truck from the factory. Don's son does the installation. We had made an appointment based on delivery date. Installers showed up right on time, installed the awning with very little fuss. Made sure all worked well and we understood all the details. Very easy and very satisfied with product and installation.

Excellent work overall. I will definitely use his services in the future.

They showed up on the day they said they would, removed the old doors and put in some very nice new doors that work so much better than the old ones. They cleaned up the site and were very professional throughout the entire project.

They arrived on time and worked continually until the job was done. They thoroughly explained the operation of the unit. They cleaned everything up and left. The job was done in less than 2 hours. The installation team was lead by the owners son who my wife described as a very pleasant young man. We used the awning constantly for the remainder of the summer and got rid of that umbrella ! We were particularly pleased with the motion sensor that automatically closed the awning when the wind reached a pre-set level.

When I purchased my house this past summer, the garage door on my single car garage door was absolute junk. I found Massachusetts Awning through AL and reached out. Don quoted me a great price for installation of a quality door and we scheduled the day for it to happen. Don and his team were prompt on the day they did the work. It took a little while, but it was quality work done which gives me peace of mind. Don also made good on a mistake he had made with the original installation during that same week. I trust him and his team completely and would highly recommend to ANYONE. If you need new garage doors, look no further than these guys!

The spring had to be ordered, but once it arrived, The work was done promptly. Will use the services again. Very professional.

This is the second time I have hired this vendor because my experience with him previously for a much larger project was excellent. He (Don Mitchell) is very reliable and responsive, he installs quality products competently and his prices are quite reasonable. I recommend him without reservations.

Don was great to work with from start to finish. We set up a time to do the estimate and he showed up on time. We went over the options for doors and openers and he left me with an estimate. Once I picked him to do the job we settled on a date and he showed up on time that morning. Don did the installation himself and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The new doors look great and the openers are smooth and quiet.

I requested that Mitchell Garage Door and Awning give me an estimate to replace our garage doors. The owner was very quick to reply back to make an appointment, showed up on time, and was very professional. We thought our garage doors were broken when in fact, it was just a sensitivity switch on the motor that wasn't in the correct position. He fixed it for us and said that we wouldn't need a new motor system. We discussed replacing our garage doors and he took measurements and left me with a brochure. I told him that I would get back to him with which doors we would want and then he would give us a quote. I emailed him back a couple of days later and asked for quotes on 3 specific doors. To this day, I have not heard back from him so we went with somebody else. The initial experience was great but then no follow through so I can't rate this company with anything higher than a C.

I contacted Don Mitchell from Mitchell Garage Door and Awning for an estimate and he immediately answered his phone the first time. We agreed on a time to meet, and he showed up on time, calling ahead to confirm his arrival. After receiving two proposals, I engaged Mr. Mitchell for the work. We agreed on a date the following week. On that day, he again called ahead to confirm his arrival and completed the job, as promised. I also contacted Mr. Mitchell one day later regarding a minor issue with one of the doors, and he came out that same day, analyzed and corrected the issue. From beginning to end, I found Mitchell to be extremely reliable, informative (i.e., he gave me materials and a website link so I could research further the brand of panels he recommended), professional and competent. He was also reasonable and fair on price. I would use the services of his company again and recommend him very highly.

.I called Don Mitchell on a saturday and got his voicemail, left a message and he called within a couple hours and scheduled to come to look at the opener on monday.He came at the scheduled time and gave us a prompt quote,which we agreed to and he came over to perform the work the same week on friday.The opener was better than expected and he came at the scheduled time and was very professional as a businessman and in his workmanship.Overall we are very satisfied with our choice of using Don mitchell.

Don responded within a few hours of my call and worked with my schedule to come over for an estimate. very professional and courteous. arrived at the job on time and called me to let me know that he had started - really liked the fact that Don did the work himself as promised. this is important to me personally. clean installation and came back to add some weather stripping promptly with no reminders from me. highly recommend his work and commitment to providing a hassle free experience.

Mr. Mitchell did the work himself and did a great job. He was punctual and got the pulley system replaced very quickly. In addition, he was very informative and quite personable. I would highly recommend him for any future garage door work and would certainly give him a call if I choose to install awnings over my deck.

Came within one day of calling and was able to give me estimate and have it fixed within an hour. Would definitely use again!!!

Don answered my call the same day even though he was out of town. He scheduled my repair for the day he returned. He came within 15 minutes of our agreed upon time and completed the job (broken spring and wheel on the garage door) in well under an hour. This was an easy, pleasant and professional experience. My only disappointment was that he came straight from the conference he was attending to do this work and was out of business cards and did not have his receipt paperwork. I will use him again for any garage door problems.

I called Don on the weekend, and was not expecting a call until Monday. However, he called right away to set up a time to come to inspect the door. He was very accommodating with our schedule, and was on time for both visits. He even went out of his way to show us how to give maintenance to the door, and reprogram the access code.

Don was professional, provided safety recommendations and completed the job in time for me to get to my appointment.

Overall the experience was good in the end. The doors were hard to install because they required some modifications due to the fact it was a low clearance. There was more to the job in some ways because of that. In the end, the problem is that the doors cannot be opened manually if there is a power loss. That was never resolved. I think part of it was that the installation of the doors did not include installation of the motors. Given the kind of attachment they made, it just doesn’t work. I had them back out to see if there was some way we could work around it and we just couldn’t figure it out. The only thing I figured out is that I can operate it with a battery in case of a power loss. None of us knew that ahead of time and I don’t know that anyone would have known. Our garage door openers were operating under a system that was built I don’t know how many years ago; we kept them because they were still working. They were compatible with the new door but there was an issue with the linkage. It wasn’t a problem with him; it was a problem with the manufacturer and that we were matching the new doors with an old system.
