Chris is very professional. His crew did excellent work. I greatly appreciated the fact that when Chris noticed he had accidentally overcharged us for the patio, he adjusted the bill. We never would have known if he hadn’t owned up to it. We would hire him again.

Chris was very responsive after I contacted him, and got in touch with me within two days, coming to the home to check out the project. He came over, listened to what we wanted, made recommendations, and was available to answer any questions/concerns throughout the process. Because of weather and equipment problems, the job began after the anticipated start date, but we could not be more pleased with the results. His team was extremely competent, friendly, and had a smile on their faces the entire time. I would not hesitate to hire Ideal Landscaping in the future, and have recommended him to several friends. The work they did was spectacular, and has greatly improved our enjoyment of our yard.

The service provided was exactly how it was described by Chris, the owner. He personally did the quote and walked our backyard taking into consideration all of our wants/needs and provided a quote that was within reason for the amount of work needed. They started the project on-time given the weather constraints and completed it perfectly on-time even with a few last minute adjustments to design that we wanted to add. They were professional throughout the process and gave us updates on progress along the way. In total the project took roughly two weeks including removing all of the yard that needed to be removed, disposing our our old wooden garden boxes, installing the patio, raised garden beds, and pad for our trash cans. They were very conscientious of our existing lawn and were very neat in the work. All areas were cleaned and reseeded at the end of the project. We couldn't be more happy with the result and would highly recommend Chris and his workers at Ideal Landscape for any hardscaping needs. I've already recommended them to my friends. I will definitely use them in the future for any hardscaping needs.

The workers were very prompt and professional. They were very precise in their installation and finished the project ahead of schedule. I never did receive a quote from this gentleman. Although he did say I would have to hire police detail for two full weeks for he and his crew to get done a job that took 9 hours and one day of police detail for the company I actually hired.

Chris returned my call immediately and showed up on time to look over the project. As you can see from the list above I had quite a laundry list of things to be done. He listened carefully to what I needed, made suggestions and within a few days came back with an itemized proposal that included everything I needed done. The day the work was to begin he and his crew arrived on time with all the necessary equipment, and after introductions they got right to work. And what impressive work it was. Perfectly defined flowerbeds ready for spring bulbs and future plants, and the area under the deck is now beautifully graded and covered with good looking brown stone. He even reminded me to print out my coupon from Angie's list for a pretty decent discount - something I was unaware of. I consider this to be pretty impressive honesty. We had some issue with the electrician we hired to run the conduit after Chris and his team did the work, ( miscommunication where the electrician did not want to do any digging...) Chris came BACK, opened the trench back up and adjusted the conduit so the electrician did not have to dig anything at all. After the electrician was finished his team then returned right away to cover the trench back over. Totally above and beyond what he had to do. While he was there he took more time out of his day to bounce around some ideas for spring plantings with me. My garden needs a lot of work, so I feel lucky to have found such a true professional ....I am looking forward to spring!

Approximately 5 workers (including a foreman) showed up on time to start working (Spring cleaning done on our large yard). They were very professional and courteous and hard working. We were impressed with the work they did. Only problem was that this was a special discounted price of $1,495 which I thought was a good deal. However the regular price would have cost us about $3,000. At that price I would not have had the work done.

The owner was extremely rude when I asked if they would plow the driveway only when there was over 6" of snow. We had used them before, but will not use them again.

We could not be more pleased with our backyard. Chris's team did an outstanding job -- paying careful attention to the necessary preparation, proper draining and proper installation of pavers. Each team member worked conscientiously and carefully to ensure the pavers were installed correctly - the right leveling, the right design, a solid foundation, appropriate materials, etc. They completed the walkway within two days and re-seeded areas of grass that were disturbed. The back patio took roughly three weeks. The ground was full of rocks that had to be removed in order to create the patio foundation. Additionally, the backyard was overgrown with eight-foot tall weeds. The team never complained about the various obstacles they encountered. We requested that Chris incorporate two very large granite stepping stones that were original to the property into his design. Even though the stones were uneven, Chris was able to create level steps out of both stones and frame these stones with the pavers so that the steps look deliberate and intentional to the design. Either Chris or his foreman, Joe, or both, were onsite the entire time overseeing the project. They communicated with me frequently and asked for my opinion when decisions needed to be made. The one delay to the project occurred with nursery. Although Chris had reserved the plantings, the nursery did not have a specific tree in-stock that was requested. Chris kept me informed and we decided to wait until the tree was available. Ultimately the trees were planted -- although later in the season. Chris selected all of the plant material and designed the beds to give visual interest throughout the year. He also selected plantings that are easy to maintain and can stand-up to strong weather conditions. His experience paid off -- we were able to achieve the look and feel that we hoped for within the budget constraints. Several of our neighbors and other building professionals have commented on the thorough job that Chris and his team completed. We feel very lucky to have found him and will definitely hire Ideal Landscaping in the future.

Chris and his team are terrific. We had him do two major projects at our lake cottage. One was the rebuild of a completely destroyed rock wall that lines the shoreline of the lake we are on. The other was to build a large patio in front of the lake cottage. Both projects came out great. Chris and his guys worked hard, were very professional, and completed the jobs on schedule and on budget. Chris has a desire to "do things right" and we were very impressed with the quality of the work. The patio has been in for 5 years now and is holding up very well. I have seen many contractors who don't do the installations correctly and the patio doesn't stay in place or last. Chris' work is impeccable and I believe it will last for many years to come. Ideal may not be the cheapest guys out there but the do it right and build it to last. To me, that's worth a few extra dollars.

It went very well. The pavers are perfect and are the base for the external fan unit for central air conditioning for the house. They look great. The crew was professional and did a fantastic job.

The crew was very professional and hard working, constantly checking to assure proper slope of the pavers away from the house. They left the work area very neat each day, and totally restored and re-seeded any lawn area that was disturbed. The weather delayed the start, being very rainy, and then they had some very hot days to work, but completed the job in the promised time frame.

Chris from Ideal was easy to contact, he came out when he said he would and looked over a couple projects I wanted estimates on. He explained his products and services knowledgeably and professionally and answered all of my questions. He took his measurements of the patio project, gave me a quote which was about middle of the road from the others I had gotten and some time to talk it over and think about it. Once I made the decision to use him I sent him a 50% deposit and the work was scheduled which was about 90 days out. On the project start date Chris and his crew arrived at the start time he had indicated and began to work immediately. The crew was professional and obviously knew what they were doing. The patio was completed in 4 days and came out exactly as I expected. Will be using Ideal for some additional projects come spring. My first time hiring a contractor to do a job that would take more than a day and I was very pleased with the whole experience.

They installed the walkway exactly as we had discussed. My wife was able to make some on the spot changes with no problems. She is delighted and that makes us all happy. Very professional job and cleaned up and repaired the lawn around the job site. I would recommend them and will use them in the future. It was a very pleasant experience doing business with them.

Company owner was responsive. Provided fast and comprehensive quote with options and estimated timeline. Timeline for work was accurate. Work was completed on time with great results and lots of follow up appointments in order to advise on the care and maintenance of new installation.

We contacted several companies including Ideal Landscape in April 2011 to get an on site visit to discuss front yard project to install steps, walkway, and plantings. Ideal Landscape was one of few that responded immediately and showed up on time. Chris (the owner or manager) was one of few who did not ask what our budget was and instead focused on why we'd do the project, what we would like to do, and options for how to do it. He was ready in the first visit with evidence of his interlocking concrete certification as well as photos of previous work he completed. He was clear on what his area of focus is and tried not to add work that his company did not specialize in (for example we asked about fencing along the steps). We asked for an estimate after that visit and received a very detailed estimate showing all material to be used, quantities, planting description and where each would be planted (we ended up not doing any plantings to limit our expenses). After deciding to go on with the project 3 months later (July), Chris provided an appointment for late Sept which seemed at the time too much to wait for 2 months until the project starts. But he did not try to take an earlier one to reserve our business and not meet the commitment. He was honest with when they can start the work. A week before the appointment we were contacted and were given heads up that the project would be delayed a few days until rain stops. As soon as the first 3 sunny days came, Ideal Landscape started the work and completed the steps. They covered the work to protect from another round of rain then started later when we got 2 clear days. The project was overall done within 2 weeks. When we noticed some pavers were misaligned and made a request to fix them, Chris was back the next Monday and reworked them to our satisfaction. Every step along the way Chris responded to our questions and concerns immediately and with great attention. The project itself required more than average skill. Ideal Landscape had to work with the elevation, rework the corner of an existing retaining wall, along side a driveway, and with irregular shape pavers. They finished the work not just with perfect final touches but also with art (curved steps and walkway). If you're near central MA make sure to include Ideal Landscape in your set of companies for hard landscaping. We will be 2nd time customers for sure.

They talk a good game. They did a great job on the walk way. They did a very marginal job on the stairs. The treads on the stairs became loose within a few months, with rocks falling out of the stair structure and the treads that you stand on became wobbly. They did a poor job matching the top of the stairs to the hous. The issues with the stairs keep me from putting on the railings, VERY frustrating. I have no interest in calling them back based on his attitude.

I am pleased with their rates. They are pretty realistic with their cost. I had some special projects that cost us a little more but the quality is very good. They always came ready to work and stayed on the job until completion. The workers also did our snow plowing and the prices vary depending how much snow they had to clear off the streets. We are very pleased with their service and will use them again.
