PARIS HOME REMODELING

We recently purchased a 2-family house in Pittsfield. Within the 1st month, during a heavy downpour, the roof started leaking, water coming in through the hall ceiling. We checked Angie's List to find a roofer; we got NO RESPONSES from several on the list, except John Paris. When he arrived, we told him we thought it was the dormer valley, but would he check? He agreed it was the valley flashing being improperly installed (was it or he just agreed?) and he applied a stop mastic to all the dormers. Paid him what I thought seemed considerable for the time spent, but then again, it seems prices on everything here are high (We retired and relocated here from another part of the country) Next heavy rain, in comes the rain again. Same place, just as bad. Called. He'd come to fix that same day. Never showed. It's raining again (does it ever stop in the Berkshires)

I contacted 5 contractors for a quote. Due to earlier experiences with the company my preference going in was to use Paris Home Remodeling but I wanted to see how their prices compared to others in the area. Paris's quote met the lowest price, making my decision easy. John Paris is a personable trusted professional. He spent quite a bit of time on my roof and found a couple of minor areas other than replacing the roofing, such as repairing a chimney crack and some loose vinyl siding, which he agreed to fix as part of the job. His work crew is first-rate, not only in doing what appears to be a perfect roof but being careful to protect the plants and bushes and cleaning up each day. With lots of rain in the forecast they were careful to do only as much each day that could be completed, so that I didn't have tarps on the roof (and I did have bad water leaking experience when that was done previously, with another contractor 20 years ago). So when the rain did come, the living areas stayed nice and dry. And as soon as the weather broke they were back, working long hours to complete the job. This was my 3rd significant project done by Paris. They continue to be my first choice for home reodeling projects.
