HVAC work was done as a replacement to gas-fired steam radiator system. Over-sizing was requested to accommodate a planned future addition. As someone who's worked in construction myself, I have to say that this was the shoddiest installation I've seen anywhere. They sent a two-man crew, one of whom was a 20-something who complained about his back as an excuse not to enter a crawlspace to do some of the duct work. I ended up doing that section myself. They did not comply with the manufacturers specs on anything related to do the duct work, resulting in "spare" parts everywhere, and numerous audible leaks at junctions and flow constrictions. In spite of being told that it would be a sound issue, they placed one of the two blowers on the floor of the attic above the master bedroom, I was ignored until the unit was activated and the sound issue was apparent even to the supervisor. Repeated complaints to the owner (Kris Johnson) about the work quality were met with condescending responses about potential for coil frosting, etc... Eventually, he decided that we were just too much trouble and offered to stop the work and forgo the last 33% payment. I sent photos of the various installation glitches to the Unico distributor, and they were so appalled that they offered to send me parts at cost to finish the work properly myself, which I did. I literally had to redo every inch of duct work in the house, re-hang the blower unit properly in the attic with vibration damping, and have the condensers properly charged. I feel dread for homeowners who have no clue, and hire this clown.
