My husband and I closed on our house on July 26th. We knew we wanted to have the floors refinished as quickly as possible, so that we could move in our furniture by mid-August. Ken was extremely responsive to my request for an estimate and was at our house the very evening we closed. He asked us questions about staining the wood, the number of people in the home, whether we had pets, etc. All of his questions were designed to assist him in determining the best solution for us and our floors. He meticulously measured our rooms and pointed out imperfections. If there were areas he thought wouldn't respond as well as others, he was very up front about that as well. Overall, he gave us the sense that he knew exactly what he was doing and took pride in his craft. We saw several other contractors the next morning, and while two had better pricing, we knew that the job would be be best done by Ken. When we booked the job with him, we were delighted to learn that he was able to start two days ahead of his original quoted start date. He began the job on Wednesday and when I inquired on Thursday to check on anything he might need, he informed me that he stayed late on Wednesday so he was able to finish the job for us on Thursday. This would give us plenty of time to let the floors cure before we moved in our furniture. To say that the finished floors are beautiful would be an understatement. I can't believe that the floors we have now are the same as the ones we had last week. Compared to the finished product, it is easy to see that the floors were in even rougher shape than we thought, and were trapped under years of dirt, grime and neglect. Now, they shine to perfection. We are so pleased with the work Ken did and would call him again without hesitation. I highly recommend Ken. His level of professionalism and attention to customer service is impeccable. And our floors look amazing, to boot!

It is a 90 year old floor and looks like a new.They came out quickly. I did get 2 bids and they were lower. They did an excellent job. Couldn't have done any better.

Every individual I dealt with at Dan's Custom Hardwood Floors was helpful, courteous, and friendly. As a new homeowner, I had many questions, and they were very patient with me. They presented me with multiple options, and helped me make decisions along the way. They were beyond accommodating and completed the job wonderfully within my tight time constraints. This was not an easy feat, as the hardwood floor started off badly damaged and not level at all. I could not be more thrilled with the end result. Who knew that beautiful floor had been hiding under that damage all along? What a difference! Would I use them again? In a heartbeat.

It went well. We had no issues with them having complete access while we went away for the week. There was one badly damaged spot they did a great job on, but if I were there I would have asked them to replace the wood in that spot so there would be no evidence of it at all. They did a great job covering the kitchen cabinets so I did not have to remove the contents and no dust got inside. There was very little dust anywhere else in the house. It may have even been pollen as the windows were opened to ventilate the strong smell. We chose a satin finish and it really did breath new life into the entire house. I did come home to 4 large trash bags of debris to dispose of. We have one barrell so I am not sure how I will handle that. It might be worth paying a little extra and asking them to take it with them. Overall they did a great job. I would definitely have them back again.

We were building a new house and had hardwood floors with a dark stain throughout the house. The floor was installed by a different company and they did a terrible job with the staining as they mixed the stain and polyurethane together. This resulted in the floors being splotchy and with the stain literally flaking off. I was desperate to find a floor refinisher who could correct this problem and was so thrilled to have found Dan's Custom Hardwood. They were recommended to me by someone who had had a similar experience with their floors and had great results with Dan's. When they came out to assess the job, they immediately diagnosed the problem with the floors and were confident that they could sand the floors down to the wood and refinish them properly. And they did just that! They did an amazing job and the floors look great. They did a very careful and thorough job and even spent the time to tell me how to properly care for the floors to keep them looking so nice. I would highly recommend them!

They came on time and worked very hard. We were very pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend Dan's.

We have used them twice over the last two years. They are very thorough and do the job right. They are very neat and clean, excellent service!! They do work better via e-mail versus calling.

The experience was good. They gave an estimate right away and came out right away. It took about 3 days to do the work. They left early one day and said they would be back later, but they didn't show up. They apologized and finished the work right away. The communication was a little off, but they were very professional.

He was very prompt, very professional and very reasonable.

Dan's flooring did a great job! The floors looked perfect...like new. They were very clean and did the work I had contracted them for within the time frame they said they would.
