I highly recommend Brickology! They are a wife and husband team. They called us back within twenty-four hours. Can't remember the exact price but they did a great job at repointing bricks on one side of the house. Professional, quick, and friendly. And they helped us to save money by showing us something we could do ourselves in the basement. So, even though the total price was on the higher end, it was worth it because the work was of high quality. We would definitely use them again in the future. Their website is great, as well.

I bought my twenty year old house three years ago. The engineering inspection identified the chimney as needing replacing. Since then, I have had the frustration of trying to find a competent mason to complete the job. Some named an exorbitant price, some never returned calls, some showed up and promised a quote then never called back and never returned calls, one said it just needed to be sprayed with deck waterseal. One actually went up and looked at the chimney. Some were on Angie's List and I had high hopes. Some had retired years ago. Finally, in the third year of search, through a super carpentry contractor my real estate agent previously recommended (and who repaired extensive insect damage not found in the engineering inspection--ugh!) I was referred to Brickology. With lowered expectations I called them. A person actually answered the phone, they set a date for inspecting the chimney, actually came and climbed and examined the chimney, provided a quote when promised, offered a reasonable price for a quality job, came and performed the work when they said they would, did a superb master craftsman job, on schedule and at the quoted price even though they found major deficiencies in the out-of-sight brickwork under the roofline. This was a large chimney with three flues and they built scaffolding among landscaped shrubbery without damaging a leaf, leaving no TRACE that such a substantial demolition and rebuild had occurred. Rich Cooper and his staff were delightful to work with and all were highly professional. My highest recommendation of Brickology is that: 1. I will have them back for sidewalk and patio masonry, and 2. that I would take the time to bring them to the attention of Angie's List so that others in the area might find a great masonry contractor in less time than I did!
