Mike's Powerhouse Crew

Everything was fine with the big deal from Mike's Powerhouse Crew. There were no additional charges, it was just the 99 dollars for the big deal.

The first time Jeff came I was hoping to have him install 2 storm doors, not realizing how difficult and time consuming they can be. I had explained what I was hoping to have done when I booked the appointment, yet I did not learn that that would not be considered a "handyman" job until he arrived. Anyway, he was happy to leave and return another day when I had a plan for how to use his services. A week later Jeff came and I had him dig a post hole and then tear shingles off an entire side of our cottage...so my husband can begin the chore of re-shingling that wall. Jeff worked hard and effectively and got all of the work finished in the 4 hours.

It went very well. The employee (I think his name was Jeff) was friendly, professional, and a hard worker. I didn't realize how physically demanding the work was until I did it myself after he left. He worked for the full time allotted for the deal I purchased, then stayed on as long as he could to finish as much of the deck as he could prior to his next commitment. He had to put in extra effort to remove some stains on the wood, which he successful fixed. Thanks so much, Mike's Powerhouse Crew!

Patrick arrived right on time and immediately went to work. Everything was going well until he got to the last section and discovered carpenter ants had done a major number on the interior wood. He went over the options with me before proceeding and when he was through the section was good as new. Thank you.

Awful! We were unhappy with 3 of 4 jobs. The fence post was not the correct post, but it was in the ground before we knew it. The mailbox fell off so I had to have them return. It is barely on, and looks terrible. Michael refuses to return to fix this. The back stairs/railing is good The side stairs and railing are unsafe, with the boards coming up. They were not secured to the cement! This despite clear instructions that the boards had to be screwed to the cement stairs so my elderly mother would be safe. I have emailed and called Michael to return to fix these, and there has been no reply. Pictures available of these terrible jobs.

Mike was very prompt getting over to us for an estimate and scheduling the work.? Mike's carpenter, Gerry, was awesome -- a true gentleman and craftsman on the finish work. Showed up on the day and time agreed to. Absolutely delightful.? Mike, on the other hand tried to overcharge us based on his estimate including time and materials not needed or used.? At the finish of the job, he said if the job cost less, we had to pay his full estimate, regardless.? However, if the job cost more, we had to pay the extra.? Hmmmm.? He was very rude to my husband on the phone about the discrepancy.? I could hear him yelling at my husband through the phone from across the room.? Mike ended up "compromising" by subtracting $40 from the total bill.? We settled for that but will not use him again.? Very unprofessional behavior.

the whole project went well and there were no problems.

Very well! Jeff came in and before he even came to the door, he fixed a planter that was hanging off of the fence due to the winter weather! He did a great job with all of the above items! He was efficient and knew what he was doing!

Arrived on time, got everything done and could have done more. Plan to have him come back and do outside work when snow melts.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out well because they went to blew it right off. It was a local contractor. They did an excellent job on refinishing the window. They did the replacement of the chimney cap October of 2013. When I got down there in February of 2014, it had blown right off the chimney. The chimney is not too well. It was blown off. They said that they would replace it. The last time I checked, it had not been replaced. It’s a small amount. I wasn’t going to waste too much time on it. I would use them again for a certain work.

Do to snow plow drivers over numerous years and the storm we had the week end of 11/2 my mailbox bit the dust. The installer arrived on time and was very well acquainted with mailbox installation. Very efficient and professional. Cyndi (not sure if spelling correct) was also helpful in checking with other employees to find an alternative to using Quick Crete and came up with solution of using a mailbox post metal holder, which worked out very well.

It took all day to instal the microwave. He did a good job but was very slow. Mikes responded quickly to my request.

The man that Mike sent was very experienced and he completed the job of removing the old door and replacing it with the new in 5 hours. Note that there a lot of carpentry involved to insure the doors close properly. I will not know the final results until a big rain storm hits but I am confident that there will be no leakage. Besides, Mike gives a year guarantee on his work. I heartily recommend the Powerhouse Crew for any handyman job.

A very good experience overall. Mike came out to assess the scope of work within 2 days of the initial request & provided a detailed written estimate that same day. He & his office assistant, Cyndi, were very responsive to both emails & phone calls, which resulted in clear communications & understanding of the project, timing, and cost. The project came in on target with the estimate. One additional unanticipated repair was made - replacement of some rotted shingles that could not have been foreseen at the time of the estimate. The cost of this repair was minor, however, and otherwise there were no surprises. The guys who worked on the project were professional, pleasant, attentive to quality, and responsive to requests. Mike provided daily status updates, both in person & by phone. I appreciated his clear communication, as well as his flexibility in suspending work during days when I had company. Based on this recent experience, I expect to contact Mike's Powerhouse Crew for future work needed on my home.

We have been waiting since May for an estimate on a bathroom remodel.

I bought special on Angie's List and they hassled me about scheduling the work. I wasn't ready. Then I contacted them again to add on to the project. I got a rude voicemail complaining that I did not pick them to do my hardwood floors and he had given me hourly rates for painting. Just an annoyance and unprofessional. I suggest you refund my money or make a donation to charity. Maybe you should pay for a class to work with your business personality disorder

Mike subbed out the work. Pressure washed my roof, the back of the house and small deck (walkway) for the money I think I was taken advantage ...but worse yet, they left a mess for me to clean...filth in my BRAND NEW vinyl outdoor shower...leaves, debris, all over the walls and floor....leaves and dirt all over my new patio...I am still picking up cigarette butts in the yard...and even left the patio table and chairs for me to move back into place by myself! On a good note, the roof, deck(walkway) and back of house look good.

The first technician they sent wouldn't listen to what I wanted. I called the company and they sent a master carpenter out to take care of the job right away. He did exactly what I wanted and did a great job. I was happy that the company made things right as soon as I had an issue. I have no complaints with them at all and I would hire them again.

The coupon offering $199.00 for 6 hrs of carpentry does not include my purchasing and delivering all materials needed for the project. The true overall costs are still not well defined by the provider.

They did half of it and then I had to keep following up with the company to complete the service. The company did not seem very organized but they did complete the service.

He was very courteous,polite and followed instructions carefully.

From the first point of contact, I was impressed with Mike's Powerhouse Crew. Cyndi, who manages the office is a delightful, pleasant person. It was always a pleasure speaking with her and she was fully informed about everything, knew what questions to ask and what needed to be answered. Mike estimated the job in person, we signed a contract for the work and scheduled a date. The carpenter, Rich, was a hard worker, and made sure we were all on the same page throughout the process. The floor looks really great and we couldn't be happier with the results and service we received from Mike's Crew.

My job was scheduled as an emergency because the company recognized that my dogs could not go out into the yard with no fencing to restrain them. They sent someone the same day. The workman discussed with me options on the type of work I wanted - repair or reconstruction. I chose repair, and he reset the existing panels in place and secured them front and back. His demeanor was friendly and professional, and I felt confidence in his expertise. If there were a higher rating than A, I would give it.

bathroom ceiling done very professionally with time taken to do the job right. the same was done for all other jobs and while the crew member was a bit on the chatty side he was thorough and professional I feel I got my money's worth.

Repairman was pleasant, professional and accomplished all tasks requested.
