Description of Work: Very quick to take my money in November. At one point stated that it could be an additional six months before he would do the work. He had a subcontractor work as a general contractor and do the work. The work was started in February and finished in March. I was originally told that it would take seven to ten working days but it took over seven weeks. Work was done satisfactorily but ... Redman came out to collect his money as each step was completed and kept telling me I was lucky to get it done.

Description of Work: Jim from Redman construction came to look at damage from an ice dam. He was very knowledgeable and told me how to address the problems myself as he said it looked like a small job. He was very honest, pleasant, and professional. We definitely intend to use the company's services in the future.

Description of Work: Jim gave us a whole house remodel estimate. Was a little pricey and not exactly what we were looking for but we would consider him for future projects. Overall experience was pleasant and professional.

Description of Work: We had 2 stoops removed and rebuilt for our front and side doors. After choosing Redman Construction to do the work, we found out they may not be out for 4-6 weeks. Because we were having a big family function here in July, we were concerned that we might have to call someone else. However, they were very understanding and were able to get out here within 2 weeks. The work they did was exceptional and they even took care of our front door because it was not closing properly due to another company's poor installation. My husband and I were very happy with the crew that was here and the next time we need work like this done, we will call them first!

It has now been roughly 6 months and everything still looks great and stable! | |Redman Construction was one of 5 general contractors I contacted, and ended up getting the job solely on reputation. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive, but they gave a reasonable quote based on the proposed work plan. The project itself: a complete kitchen redo, including gutting to the studs. We painted ourselves and had an independent contractor do the floors. | |I would consider myself to be a tough client, because I pay a lot of attention to detail so if something is off slightly I would notice. My mom, who is more meticulous, will cry foul if something is not done to perfection. Overall, the experience was pretty good and Redman Construction (Jim and the rest of his crew) were patience with your design changes, but the whole construction process did not go off without a hitch. | |Pros: |- Construction workers are always on time to do the work |- Workers were professional in demeanor |- Try to keep dust, etc to a minimal |- Quality of work is decently high |- Were patience with design changes |- Explained the process in great detail when requested |- Helped break down the initial contract costs per my request |- Will always get approval before moving forward with a design change |- During demolition, subcontractor damaged our cooktop but Redman Construction replaced it (this made a lasting impact for me, shows that this company is honorable and stand behind its brand) |- Fixed everything we noticed they missed during construction (i.e. a crack in floor, a hole in the wall, the repositioning of the island because it was not straight, etc.) |- Completely understanding when I spoke about the deadline of the project (we needed to host Christmas) |- Creative: there was a incorrect cabinet order under the cooktop that was supposed to be a faux drawer, but the crew customized the drawer and it is now usable for oven mitts and such. I was very impressed. |- His electrician David McGillicuddy's work is perfection. One of the best electricians I have seen; he is very knowlegeable and intelligent, pleasant to work with, and an extremely hard worker. | |Cons: |- Felt rushed on payment, as I would not pay unless all work was completely done to my satisfaction; otherwise, there is no guarantee the work would get fixed. As a finance person, I needed enough time to review the contract to makes sure all amendments were accurate and that the resulting design changes were reflected in the amended contracts. If I did not, I would have paid $600 more for lights that were later cut out of the proposed project plan. |- Subcontractors left our doors unlocked on three occasions (all different subcontractors), but Redman is responsible for its subcontracts. |- The overall quality was pretty good, but the detailed work we felt we needed to review everything. If we did not, I do not think we would have been happy with the job. But on the positive, they did fix what we asked to fix. |- During the plumbing process, our dryer was damaged with a big dent likely from the plumbers (Redman's subcontractor). This was never fixed but we would have definitely made a bigger fuss had it been a new dryer. It was definitely not broken before but no party admitted fault though I definitely heard a loud "oh no" from down stairs where the dryer is located prior to my discovery. These plumbers were not very friendly and I though did a sloppy job. I would not recommend them. | | |In conclusion, I would do business with Redman Construction again and would recommend him to a friend. Although, the overall experience was good, sometimes it is the negatives that can overshadow the whole experience and most readily remembered - I hope Redman takes this into consideration in the future. The group is in fact a professional bunch and one of the better general contractors out there. We love our kitchen though and despite everything if it weren't for Redman the project would have never been completed.

Description of Work: They repaired a leak in my bathroom. This included removing wallboard, fixing the plumbing and replacing the wallboard, painting the walls, repairing the tile floor, etc.

Description of Work: Redman Assoc. performed complete renovations of two bathrooms at our home in Duxbury. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From the beginning we dealt with Jim Runkles who was always very professional in his dealings with us. He always responded to phone calls and emails. He was generous with his time, explaining every step of the process and made helpful and cost saving suggestions in the choice of materials and fixtures. The renovation project was interrupted by two strong winter storms but Redman Associates did not abandon us or delay in resuming the work when weather and flooding conditions permitted. The bathrooms are now finished and look beautiful. We thank Redman Associates and would certainly use them again for any construction work. Max Bermann

Description of Work: They gave me an estimate and I just signed a contract with them for a second floor remodel and addition.

Description of Work: Total interior renovation of 2900 foot condo. Remodeled kitchen, installed floors throughout unit, re-did plumbing and electricity, created more light in unit by expanding door opening and installing pocket doors in room with western exposure (afternoon sun), and came up with several creative and functional design ideas. He built bookshelves in the living room that look like they've always been there; built and installed window seats with ample storage in living room and guest room. Divided a large laundry room into two separate areas, building storage clost and cedar closet in laundry room part, and a workshop for my husband in the other part. Expanded interior closet to provide shelving for pantry with easy access to vases, serving items, etc.

Description of Work: We completely gutted a bathroom, updated electrical, installed all new plumbing and lighting fixtures, sink and toilet; tiled with marble the floor, half-wall and a shower enclosure with glass partition.

Description of Work: He put in a new kitchen that is functional, replaced the bathroom, put in a floating floor, replaced the title in the hall and kitchen, put cabinets in the kitchen, and when his sub contractor was doing electrical work, they found a problem and had to tear out some walls, put in a new closet, and added a lot of storage space in the unit.

Description of Work: He put in 2 kitchens in 2 different places, 2 bathrooms and he does all of the repairs at my beach house. He also put in front stairs on my beach house.
