Gary was able to schedule me for both an estimate visit and the actual work very quickly! He and his team did a great job, and I could not have been happier to come home to a finished project with my house in order. I will be hiring him to paint my other rooms as well.

Very professional people, Did a great job stripping off wallpaper, painting ceiling, wall in 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, alcove, bathroom. The painters were great and very flexible to changes, etc. The schedule was flexible and they fit us in and added us to schedule in a timely manner. Would definitely hire them again for any work we need done.

I contacted several painting companies but Gary was the ony one that called me back promptly. He came out to view the job and put together a written estimate. His prices are very fair for the work that they do. The crew came on time on the day promised. Gary took care of all the paint, all we had to do was give him the colors. My husband and I both work from home and the crew were so respectful of our home and very quiet. In our past experience with contractors we have been very disappointed with having to "babysit" every move but not this crew. They knew EXACTLY what to do and even more importantly what not to do by virtue of their expertise and good old fashioned "common sense". They cleaned up everything so well that you could not tell they had even been there. They were both efficient and professional. They completed what would have taken us multiple weekends in 1 1/2 days! We plan on having them back later this summer for more indoor painting and then next year for the whole upstairs. Gary is an honest and reputable professional who truely cares about his customers. I can recommend him without reservation. No one better in our opinion!

Gary Knowlton Inc. aims to please and is definitely focused on customer satisfaction. This is a contractor who is honest, professional and very talented painters. After the work was completed, I found a couple of very minor things that were not perfect and Gary returned the next day and fulfilled all of my requests to my utmost satisfaction at no additional cost. I not only would hire this contractor again but I actually am planning on it and asked Gary to give me an estimate for some exterior work. This contractor is a real gem and definitely has integrity. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great painting contractor. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent. This is at least the fifth time I've used Gary and his crew. It has gone very well each time. They do a great job, and they are very pleasant to deal with.

Gary contacted me within a day or so of sending him an inquiry email. He came out within a couple of days to give me a quote. He was very courteous and I noticed that he took off his shoes immediately upon entering, which I appreciated. The quote was sent within a day even, which he said he'd do. It was exactly what I expected based on the research I'd done. Gary and I communicated by email to schedule the job and on the day of they showed up exactly when they said they would. Even better was that they finished the entire job in one day! Part of me feels that patching and two coats of paint in a day is way too fast, but it looks great. I was prepared to spend the amount Gary quoted and considering how effortless the entire process was, how fantastic it looks, and knowing that doing the job myself would have taken months made it all worth it and I'm very tempted to hire them again to paint our basement which is taking close to 3 years to finish...

They were prompt, efficient, very clean, and accommodating.The paint job was excellent. Gary also helped with paint suggestion selections. The trim work and cut in were superb. Best we have seen. I would hire them again.

Gary was very prompt in coming out to my condo to see the work that I wanted done and provided a competitive quote quickly. He was able to schedule the work for when I was already available. His team arrived on time and worked each day to get the job done. They repaired imperfections in the walls, filled in nail holes from pictures and kept their work areas clean and neat. They moved furniture away from the walls and then put it back after the paint was dry and they were done. Several of the rooms they painted were a dark color that required 3 coats of paint to cover to a more neutral color. I'd highly recommend Gary and his team and wouldn't hesitate to employ him again for another painting job.

I recently moved to the area and found Gary on Angie's List. He was very friendly and prompt when he came for a quote. I liked him right away. I had 3 other painters come for quotes but decided to go with Gary because of his high rating on Angie's List and his pricing. I was not disappointed! His team came and got started when I asked. They were all very friendly. He had one guy doing all the edge work in the entire house. He has the steadiest hand - I have never seen such straight paint lines against the ceiling and trim before! I picked a very dark color in one room and I have had many people give favorable compliments on the paint job with edging. They were very courteous, clean and friendly bunch. I will definitely call Gary Knowlton again when i have any painting to be done.

Gary painted two houses for me. This review primarily applies to my home, a garrison colonial style house. It was the second one that he did for me within about a month. The first one was my daughters home. On my house, two people did the initial preparation and one very industrious and skillful person painted the house in one day. Not one drop of paint went anywhere it wasn't supposed to go. The painter didn't miss any detail and we are extremely satisfied with the end result. All of the fixtures were put back where they belonged and the entire work site was left as clean as they found it. I think that it's difficult to find people who work as hard and as well as Gary's team. They showed up early each day and stayed until they completed each major step in the process. The work on both houses was equally well done.

They were simply excellent. . The prep work was thorough - places only I knew were in poor shape, they found, scraped, sanded, primed and painted. If they were rotted out, they replaced them - and always consulted with me on my options. Everything was done well - the crew was very professional. polite and hard-working. My neighbors watched the work and lined up to ask Gary for quotes on their homes. There are 7 homes on the block - he has painted 2 - will paint another - and probably the other 4 as they need it!

Very well. The preparation work was excellent. Any and all areas were sanded, pitted wood was cleaned up and/or removed. Windows were sealed - quality primer and then finish coats applied. All shutters removed, porches sanded and refinished. All window boxes removed, sanded, painted and replaced - home left in perfect condition. Crew was friendly, efficient and hardworking - can not recommend highly enough!

This is the second time we have used Gary Knowlton to paint our house. The first time was two years ago when he painted the whole exterior. We were so pleased with his work back then, we invited him back for another round. This time he painted our master bedroom and two bathrooms plus his people inspected the outside and made any repairs and touch ups needed after this particularly brutal winter. The main emphasis on the outside was the outer trim on the garage entrance where the wood wasn't the best to begin with and some peeling had occurred. They patched it up and made it look good as new. As far as the inside, my wife and I couldn't be happier. We are in the process of preparing our house for sale, and Gary recommended some colors that would enhance the appearance of the rooms and not turn off a prospective buyer. The end result was fantastic. As the commercial goes, "no runs, no drips, no errors." The walls never looked better and they even did some caulking on the edges of our bathroom sinks. The place looks great. As far as the crew, they were very friendly and neat as a pin. They laid down tarps from the entrance to the work areas to avoid soiling our carpets, and when they were done they cleaned up so well you would never know there had been four men slapping paint all over the place for four hours. Gary himself is very personable, professional, and accomodating. If you hire him you will also find that he knows his craft. He is the only painter we will hire when the need arises..

Repaired water damaged ceilings , walls and woodwork. Removed old wallpaper and painted living , dining ,and bathrooms. Also helped facilitate the repair of some smaller jobs that came up during this period. This included shingles that blew off the roof with the high winds and a leaky pipe. Curtains were rehung and furniture returned to original place. Have had a lot of workers in my house over the past 35 years and no one can compare to the quality of service provided by this company.

They did an excellent job and finished the entire condo in 4 days. Gary's crew is hardworking and very professional. They left the place cleaner than when they arrived (vacuumed and mopped floors). They offered to help me shovel. The condo walls and ceilings look great now.

The three painters did an excellent job. They took 3 days to perform the painting and arrived each day on time. They made suggestions to paint areas we had forgotten such as the front door. They repaired the seam cracks in the bedroom ceiling and they plastered all of the open holes in the wall. They sanded areas that needed sanding and removed wall paper borders that we had requested. They masked and cleaned up everything. The carpeting was cut along the wall so it could be painted because the new carpeting we had installed had a lower pile height than the old carpeting. The extra paint was left with us. In total, they did an excellent job and they enjoyed the work. We highly recommend their services.
