Description of Work: Hired them for some perimeter soil re-grading and stone drainage work. I also hired them to move some existing plants and landscape the backyard. They did a great job. I have hired them again for more work on our home.

Description of Work: This was a yard that hadn't had real proper attention for a few years.Lots of heavy shrub pruning and cutting back as well as a couple smallish trees and several limbs were taken down, as well as raking / 'fall clean-up'chores. So I think fairly priced for amount of work / number of workers and amount of equipment.Kyle and another guy (can't recall name) are both great guys very knowledgeable and nice to deal with. The entire crew seemed friendly and respectful. Many of my neighbors use Snows for all their lawncare and they come well recommend ed.

Description of Work: We used Snow and Sons for several years in the past for spring clean up and mulching annually, irrigation service, and more recently pool opening. Initially, their landscape service (mowing lawn, mulching) was excellent; however, during the past two years (2011 and 2012), the quality of their service declined and went significantly up in price. I attribute the downhill trend and increase in price to the company growing very large, very fast in that there is now a large array of new trucks, new equipment, new services offered (pool service) etc., etc.. The new trucks and equipment has the Snow and Sons logo on them. The mulching job during the last two occasions was very poor compared to the past services (before 2011). For one, my perennials were pulled out of the garden and the layer of mulch was minimal. The following year, I marked the perennials with chop sticks; however, the weeds that were plucked from the gardens were left int he garden, covered with soil and mulch. In a few days following the mulching, the weeds were growing out of the soil. On both occasions, I called Snow and Sons and they came to fix the situation. | |The last straw was when Snow and Sons started offering pool opening service for the first time. We decided to go with their new service; however, the man who opened the pool drizzled chemical around the periphery and the chemical sat on the inground pool liner, discolored the liner where the chemical sat, and then the liner started to leak as it became porous. We spoke with the owner of the company and went back and forth, but after a long ordeal and fiasco that lasted 6-8 months, the matter was dropped. Snow and Sons lost our business as a result. | |For a family run company, I think the leadership has fallen behind and the growth and management of the company has compromised quality and customer service. | |The irrigation service that they offer and provided by Kurt provided is good and I recommend it. | |We enjoyed and liked doing business with Snow and Sons in the past, but over the past few years their costs have gone way up and the quality control has declined.

In the fall they do fall clean up, spring clean up, fertilization, irrigation and anytime we have anything to do with yards, flowers, garden or anything we have them do it. They also did lawn, trimming, clean up in the driveway and that kind of stuff, they blew the decks off and cleaned them up for me.

Description of Work: I work for a company that has its lawns mowed by Snow & Sons. One of my co-workers called me after her lunch time walk around the building to tell me that the driver's side window of my car was broken--as she phrased it, "It looks like somebody punched a hole in your window! There's glass all over the inside of your car and on the ground. The lawn service was just here--I'll bet a rock was kicked up when the lawn was mowed." I found out from HR that Snow & Son mows the lawns. I called and spoke to Ed Sr. He told me that not 10 minutes before I called he had received a call from his employee that he had broken the window of a car. Mr. Snow told me that he was in the process of calling my company to let them know about the window. Apologizing, Mr. Snow told me Snow & Sons would do whatever I wanted to make things right. I told Mr. Snow that the matter could ride for the next few days as I was leaving town for a mini vacation over Memorial Day; fortunately, I didn't need to use my car for the trip. I told Mr. Snow that I'd get the window replaced the following week and send him the bill. I patched up the window, drove the car home, put the car in the garage, went on my vaca, came home, and got the window replaced. I paid the bill with a credit card. I scanned the receipt and emailed it to Mr. Snow. A few days later a check for the cost of replacing my window arrived. Throughout the entire incident Mr. Snow was professional and courteous. He expressed regret. He called me once at work to see that things were OK. He answered my emails in a timely manner. He did what he said he'd do. And the fact that his employee promptly called Mr. Snow to let him know about the fact he broke a window speaks well about Mr. Snow's high standards. While my experience with Snow & Sons Tree & Landscaping has nothing to do with the actual service the company provides, my encounter with the company is relevant as it reflects qualitative aspects of the company.

Description of Work: Snow & Sons Landscaping is a full service landscaping company. They do snow removal, mowing, landscaping, yard work, maintenance, planting, patios and cut trees. We had our front yard landscaped. They dug up everything, used the appropriate plants, designed the whole thing, came, prepared everything, put the plants in and came back to make sure everything was growing. They came back during the whole growing season. They also cut down some trees in our yard. The tree removal was &700, they removed 5 trees down.
