+ -1 moreAt the recommendation of our home inspector we needed to bring in a specialist in chimneys before proceeding with the home purchase. I needed to get someone in fairly quickly due to the dates of the P&S we needed to adhere to. Being early fall many chimney sweeps were unavailable. George and his wife Rose were extremely helpful and found a time in their schedule to fit in my inspection. He inspected all 3 chimneys and made recommendations. There were areas he thought were best to talk to a mason about and he gave us a recommendation for that as well. WOuld use him again.

+ -1 moreOriginally came out in September for chimney inspection/cleaning. Was polite, explained everything, didn't mind questions. Shortly after had issues with damper. Came out that evening. Thoroughly inspected and reviewed options. New damper installed within a week.

Description of Work: Called on a Monday to set up an appointment, George came Tuesday. He worked about 21/2 hours cleaning the fireplace chimney and the wood stove chimney. He was neat and professional. Asked if he could wash up before he used the kitchen sink. Very friendly and thorough. I would hire him again.

+ -1 moreMr. Rose arrived and inspected the chimney cap that had fallen off and determined that the weld was broken and it had to be replaced. He set up his ladders and replaced the cap, inspected the chimney and completed his work in about 30 minutes. He told me the chimney did not need cleaning. He cheerfully answered all my questions. He even filled out the warranty card for the new chimney cap. All I had to do was put on a stamp and mail it! He charged me a grand total of $125. Had he needed to clean the chimney it would have cost an additional $125. I would definitely recommend him.
Description of Work: My chimney cap fell off during a storm and I hired George Rose to put it back on or replace it if necessary. I also asked him to inspect the chimney and clean it if necessary.

+ -1 moreOverall, he did a very good job. He worked very neatly. He was very pleasant and arrived on time, very fairly priced for worked that was done. I would highly recommend Georgetown Chimney Sweep.
Description of Work: My home has three fireplaces and two furnace chimneys. George inspected all chimneys and told me only one of the fireplace chimneys needed cleaning, all others were fine. He did a very good job cleaning the chimney. He was very informative and knowledgeable. Some outside chimney sealing is needed and he will be coming back to complete that work soon.

+ -1 moreMr. Rose did a excellent job. He was on-time. Got right to work. Described exactly what he was doing and the results of his inspection. Made a few very good recommendations. Also described that my chimney flashing needed replacement. He however, no longer does that particular task. Overall an excellent tradesman! We will use him again.
Description of Work: Chimney needed sweeping. Wood stove fired, mostly green wood used. He accessed chimney for the actual brush work through top of chimney.
