It went very well. He did a great job, no problem. There was an extra charge for the furnace chimney. I thought it was a little pricey but honestly this was the first time I've had that done, so I really had nothing to compare it to. They were here on time. They guy came and did the job. answered all my questions, was very open about pricing and everything, he didn't try to twist my arm to get the furnace chimney done, I wanted to do that, because it's my first year in the house and I wanted to make sure, just get a clean start, I just thought he was really fine, no problem at all.

Great! Service was exceptional-professional, quick and explained everything as it was being done and why. I had asked to be put on a cancellation list and got a call a week prior to scheduled service and got it done! The service provider informed me of a crack in the liner but did not push getting it fixed at that moment-gave me options to think over for the future. Excellent!

The technician arrived right on time, completed the work and was very nice.

Although the whole procedure seemed expensive to me, it was in line with other estimates we received. The customer service was outstanding, work done in a timely manner, and it was a pleasure to work with this company.

I cannot recommend Derek more highly. He is extremely organized (his summary sheet from the visit explained what had been done and scheduled the follow-up visit without having me call in). He was extremely neat and very thorough. The gas fireplace had not been working prior to his visit and we now enjoy a fire every night. Both Derek and his assistant are friendly and kind and were terrific to my daughter and pets - who also became big fans. We would use him again without hesitation.

The Horizon installation team showed up at 9:30 as planned, and did a fantastic job of installing my new fireplace insert. They were friendly, knowledgeable, considerate, were able and willing to answer my questions -- that's in addition to obviously knowing exactly what they were doing. Very professional with no attitude. The office support staff was also very pleasant and helpful. The only thing I didn't anticipate was having to obtain the contractor's signature on several forms in order to obtain the building permit. This involved mailing Derek the forms and having him mail them back seeing how his business is in Franklin and I live in Waltham. No biggie.

I have been using the company for 2 years. The staff is very professional and do a good job. I trust their judgement and they are very honest. We really like using their service. They make scheduling very easy. They did show up a little late but called to let me know.

Both Dereks were very professional. They actually arrived early (after confirming that it would be ok to be early). After a quick inspection, they gave me prices for recommended services on the chimney and showed pictures of my chimney and why they had the particular recommendations. After telling them that we are considering the removal of the chimney in the next few years, they removed some of their recommendations from the list, stating that they wouldn't be necessary in the short term. They completed the work quickly, and were friendly throughout the appointment. They provided excellent service and I highly recommend them. I'm happy to pay a little bit more for quality work and professional workers.

Derek from Horizon Chimney services made an initial inspection and took all the measurements of the cover. He ordered a stainless steel chase cover which arrived in few days and made another appointment to install. Service provided was highly professional with good quality. All the appointments were confirmed by telephone via his office one day earlier. Derek and his assistant Derek arrived on time. I would defnitely refer to my friends and neighbors for any chimney related work in near future.

Horizon was able to come out the day after I called. They showed up on time and were diligent when preparing for the chimney sweeping of our wood fireplace and oil burner vent / flue so we wouldn't get any soot inside our home. Upon completion they cleaned up as if they never were there. We also needed to get a deteriorating crown addressed and new cap installed. We have a large chimney opening with flue for both the fireplace and oil burner. Repaired the crown and installed a new stainless steel cap to cover both flues. Great customer service, prompt work, and solid final product. Will call them again when I need my flues swept.

Went well. The chimney sweeps were done the same day. We are working on getting a much bigger job scheduled. We are going to have him replace the downstairs wood stove, and the piping for both stoves that is very old and damaged. We have quotes and are just finalizing details and a date for the job. He has taken the time to make recommendations of quality stoves for us to use, which I greatly appreciate. I used Derek years ago also, and on both occasions he was friendly, professional, and did a great job. I'm looking forward to having the additional work done hopefully next month.

Steve arrived early and took the time to walk me through everything he was doing. Price of this visit will be applied as credit towards any work they are hired for. Would have preferred a free estimate. We chose to have Horizon come out because their estimates for cleaning and caps (what we initially wanted) were lower than the competition's. Now we're pricing out liners. If Horizon's price comes down to be competitive, we'll go with them for the liner replacement.

Steve provided us with comprehensive evaluation and excellent service. He never failed to answer a question and helped focus our future decisions to be based on SAFTEY FIRST, and function, and all with no pressure (no-up sell) He left us with a fair and reasonable detailed proposal with breakdowns for future work, if we decide to move forward. Competent, expert, meticulous, pro-active, patient and a sweetheart. He exhibits the ART of HIS TRADE. I would like to include the office manager,Shannon. She contacted us promptly, explained how Horizon does business and was knowledgeable about all the necessary codes and procedures. Thank to Shannon, Steve, and Horizon.

Brad and Steve came to my house promptly for the appointment. They started work by removing the ceramic tiles and replacing it with the stainless steel liner in the oil flue. They tried to fix the crack at the top of the chimney and they put on the new stainless steel cap. Brad and Steve were both very polite and professional. I would highly recommend this team to anyone, they were wonderful people and did a very nice job for me. They took the time to explain to me what they had done and answered any questions that I might have had. Just taking the time to listen means a lot to me. They were not able to fix the crack in my chimney, so they put adhesive on the piece that was moving around....they did not charge me for this because they did not put the new mortar like the quote had stated. So, at the end of the job the payment for completion was lower than what the quote had stated....this was a nice surprise.

My husband and I were getting oil fumes in our house (living room) every time the oil burner would come on to heat up the water. I had the oil company come out and do maintenance on the furnace, because we thought that this is what was causing the issue. We were still getting the smell, so we contacted Horizon Chimney to come out and inspect both flues and to do a cleaning on both. Brad was very professional and was not a pushy sales person. Everything Brad told me, he showed me and/or took pictures to show me as well. He told me by looking at the fireplace the flue did not need to be cleaned, do not use the fireplace much. If we started to use the fireplace more than it would definitely need to be cleaned for now ok. He told me that the oil flue definitely needed a cleaning. Brad did his cleaning/inspection came in and gave me the bad news. He said that I needed a new liner because the ceramic tiles were crumbling in the oil flue. He took me downstairs and showed me the crumbled tiles from the flue. He did not guarantee that the cleaning or the new liner will fix the smell that I was getting. The cleaning helped but we are still getting the smell, so I hope that the new liner will help. He gave me an estimate to come back and put in a stainless steel liner, fix the crack at the top of the chimney, and put a cap (quote for one cap or two separate caps). I spoke to my husband and gave Derek a call to set up a time to have the work completed. I was very impressed with the professionalism and kindness of Derek's team. I would definitely recommend his team to anyone that is looking for excellent service and not be sold into something that is not needed. Horizon Chimney Services will charge you for what you really need and will not charge you for extra stuff that they did not perform for you. I will write a separate review for the quote/work.

They responded to our email inquiry very quickly, and they set up an appointment right away. They even confirmed the appointment the day before, and the technician showed up on time. He was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions, and we made an appointment for him to come back next year. Great experience, and we will always work with Horizon for our chimney sweeping. Cost was totally fair for the work performed.

The folks from Horizon were very personable and efficient. We obtained several quotes for the work we needed to have done, and Horizon came out on top both from the point of view of the price and the clarity of the description of the work. I was particularly impressed with their work removing some wood that was left behind during the chimney construction and that was now badly charring. The work ended up being more difficult than they had anticipated, but they stuck to their original estimate. They kept us informed all the way through the work and took time to show us how it was going and to point out things that they'd found in the process. We're going to have them back to do some outside work now that it's warmed up, and I'd definitely use them again in the future.

Derek and his crew were great. Always on time and do an amazing job. I use them exclusively.

We are in the process of selling our home and a home inspector indicated that our chimney needed to be repointed. Horizon Chimney Services sent Brad to look it over, and he certified there was no need for repointing. He did, however, discover a crack in the chimney which needed repair, and also found some damage to the flashing. He examined the chimney thoroughly, repaired everything in one visit, and provided all the documentation we needed for the buyer. Brad was very friendly and courteous, explained everything to our satisfaction, and we were happy with the price. I'd definitely recommend this company and would use them again if needed.

The workers were great. They showed up on time and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

I was charged less than expected because one flue needed to be replaced, not cleaned.
