We do not install or repair vinyl siding.
They set aside 3 days to get the work done, but actually only took them two. They were extremely punctual, professional, and knowledgeable in their responses to our questions. We were thrown for a loop when one of the workers informed us that MASS SAVE estimated incorrectly how much insulation was needed and that the work would cost us an additional $500; however, after the worker called the owner (his boss), he was informed not to charge us the extra as it was a mistake on MASS SAVEs part. I was extremely impressed with his response and with the final product. The workers were great about cleaning up after themselves (which is always a big plus in my book) as well. Only downfall was the amount of time we had to wait between setting up the appoinment and when they could fit us in (we called for an appointment in May and they did the work in November), although it wasn't really a time sensitive project, so this was a small factor in the end. We would definitely use these guys again!
Description of Work: We had a MASS SAVE inspection done to see where we could save on our energy costs and they recommended having insulation added to a crawlspace that abuts our master bath as well as adding more insulation to our attic. Our HVAC guys recommended Rogers Insulation, so we went with them.

We didn't do the work yet, but would go with this contractor if we do.
Description of Work: Owner came and looked over the job, gave us some excellent information, was knowledgeable and pleasant. She gave us a very honest assessment of the benefits we might or might not see if we completed the job. The estimate was sent by email promptly. If we decide to go ahead and insulate the ceiling of the garage, we will use this company.

Called and made an appointment for an estimate for adding insulation in my attic. I was told that they were really busy and that they would not be able to come for over a week to do the estimate. They called me the night before they were suppose to come and told me that I really lived to far for them to come so they were cancelling. I did not move from the time I first spoke to them so I felt that I should have been told upfront. Because of this I was I lost over two weeks and it was harder to get anyone to come and do the job. I thought that they were very unprofessional.

Rick first came to our home to evaluate our needs. Very professional and knowledgeable. Once we'd done our MassSave home audit with CSG, and NOT an external auditor that would want to do the insulation themselves, CSG approved Roger's for the insulation installation. We made an appt and received a reminder email the week before agreed upon time that indicated what we needed to do to prepare for the installers arrival. Larry, David and Jason did a marvelous job. They arrived when anticipated. They were extremely professional to each other and their customers. It was clear this team knew how to do their job AND enjoyed doing it. I got a new appreciation for what it takes to insulate a home. Our home is an extended Cape. They spent a good SIX hrs of hard work accomplishing the services described above. And this was for only the Cape portion of the house! We split this into two jobs for financial purposes and we will definitely call them for the other half next year. MassSave/CSG will be coming back to audit their Roger's efforts. I will be surprised if the audit does not go well.

Rick came to my place right after the hurricane to give me an estimate on a roof insulation. He gave me great satisfaction : 1) he provided me an explanation of both kind of insulation we could use along with the prices in a very courteous manner. Even if I am a french man with a strong accent. 2) because I want to act as a self contractor to finish our attic. He helped me a lot to know what I needed, provided me names and referred people I am going to contact. 3) The price seems very fair, since our attic is pretty big. I will update my review when the job is done.

The job went well. Everyone showed up when they were meant to, and the job was finished in a timely manner. Working in the city where space is at a premium can often present unique situations. Everyone went out of their way to make this an easy experience for both me and my neighbors.
Description of Work: A high quality siding was put on one side of the house. This is an older house, and the idea was to put the siding on the large plain side of the house that gets all the weather exposure. The plan is to paint the front of the house to keep the detail, and to have the side and the front of the house look seamless.

I have nothing but good things to say about the company. Their timeliness and response was great because I actually spoke to one of the owners themselves, which was really nice. They were absolutely awesome. They came out and gave a quote and were extremely timely and very detailed even after I told them that I could not use them because my builder was doing the additional work. They still worked through some of the questions I had about how to do certain things in the house. They knew their stuff. I would highly recommend them. Although we didn’t get any work done it was overall a great experience. I would absolutely use them in the future if the need arises.

I am remodeling my 3rd floor / attic into livable space. The cost was prohibitive to have a contractor oversee the project, so I am functioning as my own general contractor. As this is the first home I have owned, I am a novice and had lots of questions, particularly regarding the best way to insulate an attic space (ventilation, vapor barriers, etc.) The space had been gutted, framed and rough plumbing and electric complete. The scope of the work included insulating the entire attic space, including gable-end walls, slant ceilings and knee walls. Frank from Rogers Insulation was quite patient with me and answered a lot of questions while he was there, as well as follow-up phone calls and e-mails as I debated my options. He also pointed out a few things none of the other contractors did. One of these was the slant ceiling that was above the stairs, which also needed insulation, but had not been gutted. Had this been overlooked all of the moisture would have collected there and caused issues with the roof in the future (not to mention loss of heat!) I did some additional research and called the help line for the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (sprayfoam.org) to get an outside opinion. In the end I opted to go with a combination of open and closed cell spray foam depending on the depth of each cavity. I had quotes from two other contractors, one of which refused to mix the two to keep cost down, and another who I hired for a different job but proved to do shoddy work. Rogers was the cheapest of the three (by $700 - $1700), and the most professional. They knew the building code, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. Can?t wait to start putting up the walls!

Rogers was great. We could never get the upstairs warmer than 68degress and the heat would run non stop. With the new insulation, it is very warm upstairs and we are saving a lot of money on heat. We filled up our oil tank about every 6 weeks once we had the insulation compared to every 3 weeks before.

We were very happy with Rogers. This job was done through the mass saves program. There were alot of paperwork hang-ups and delays due to mass saves, and Rogers was really great in helping out to make sure the paperwork went through. We were a bit indecisive about what kind of insulation we wanted, and Rick spent a lot of time walking us through our options (actually he did it twice--once with me and once with my husband). The workers were neat and courteous and efficient. They scheduled for three days but were done in 2. The only downside is that Rogers is so busy that once we finished the mass saves paperwork Rogers was scheduling about 4 months ahead. It didn't really matter to us, but it's something to be aware of if you're in a super-rush. Other than that, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

We did not contract with this vendor.
Description of Work: We got a quote from Rogers for closed cell insulation but decided against using them because their quoted price for the work was nearly $10K more than the other quotes they got. We did give them a chance to revise their numbers or at least explain why there was such a differential. They seemed disinclined to do more than restate FUD about the other vendors. We had the insulation done for $15K and it's great.

The work failed the initial inspection by a HERS rater, who noted large obvious gaps in the insulation. The insulation crew returned to fill those gaps. When I asked the crew's supervisor if there might be other gaps elsewhere he assured me that that was the only spot where they would be, because he personally had supervised the work everywhere else. The workers left scratches in the new hardwood floor and on the window frame through which they brought their hose. Later, the followup inspection found smaller gaps in two other areas, so the job failed again. The insulation crew returned and filled the remaining gaps, and this time they left numerous smudges and scrapes in the paint on the ceiling, walls, and door trim. The company was very responsive to my complaints. Each time the owner of the company apologized profusely. The damage to the floor, walls, and ceilings has all been repaired free of charge.

We liked the sales representative, who came to our home and provided us with examples of the windows, explanations, etc. We purchased their Seeway windows, which seemed like a really good energy efficiency window, with many great features, at a lesser price than the more well known brands. These features included things like: the energy efficiency ratings of glass and housing; the style (not bulky, nice to look at); the function of opening closing, locking, etc., We did a bunch of comparing online and at big-box stores. Our sales rep was also very attentive and responding to emails, calls, etc. very quickly. He kept us very up to date regarding the order, when installation would happen, etc. Perhaps what we appreciated most was that, at one point during the installation, it became clear that there had been prior leaking in a portion of a wall, which had resulted in carpenter ants and rot of the studs in the wall. Our installer was able to repair all that - including securing the services of an electrician, obtaining all the lumber and supplies - within a day or two, and the additional cost felt very reasonable. Plus, he was a very nice guy. Overall, we have been extremely pleased with the windows. Their performance is a huge improvement over what we had before (really old double pane windows). We could the difference immediately in (1) keeping the house much warmer and getting rid of the draftiness, (2) they look beautiful (we got the optional grids), (3) and they work wonderfully, in terms of opening and closing, locking, etc. Also, the color is perfect, as they are a nice off white which blends perfectly with the trim, as opposed to the very bleach white ones. It has resulted in a huge amount of satisfaction in the enjoyment of our home. I would very highly recommend these windows and this vendor. That being said, I would suggest that you include a few things in your initial conversations: - First, clarify any potential addition additional costs. In our case, it was thin slats of wood on each window that needed to be added because some aspect of the way the prior windows were installed. The overall cost additional wasn't huge, but still, we wondered at the end whether that could have been forseen. - Second, clarify whether you will have to do any additional work, such as painting when it's all done. For us, this, this basically means having to paint those little pieces of wood. Again, not a big deal, but given that this is for 20 windows, it's not an insignificant project. Again, we're not saying that anything was done wrong in terms of this, but it just would have been good to clarify up front. Overall, though, we've really pleased, and we love the windows. They look lovely and have been a huge improvement to our home.
Description of Work: Purchase, replalcement, installation of roughly 20 replacement, double pane, very energy efficient windows. This was almost all the windows for our home.

In 2011 they blew insulation into our attic. Job was professionally done and clean. We utilized the National Grid rebate program. We noticed a marked difference in our AC and heating needs. A year later, we had them back to blow insulation into the walls. The job was done from the outside, took about 1 day. The carefully removed the clapboards, and blew in the insulation. The guys were nice, professional and courteous. The did a great job cleaning up. This was a day when it was over 100 degrees and they still were professional and finished the job. Would highly recommend them!
