+ -1 moreThe experience was a great one. The scheduler was really nice and knew that we really wanted to get the work done in 2012 if possible. Despite the fact that they were booking 3 months ahead she fit us in when they had a cancellation. The 2 workers who came to the house were both really nice and super professional. Even though the weather was terrible they made an effort to be as neat as possible and to not track mud throughout the house. They also did a good job of covering surfaces while doing the insulation work (knowing that we have small children in the house). They were also very friendly and nice and a pleasure to interact with. When Mass Save came back to do the inspection they found that everything was done really well. We would definitely hire Rogers again!
Description of Work: After we did the Mass Save Energy Audit, Rogers Insulation performed the recommended work. I think the total cost was around $2500 but Mass Save covered a portion of it.

I very much appreciate the fact that John suggested that Rogers *not* do any work if I plan on converting the attic space into something that is liveable (something I told him I want to do in the next year or two). Because of that open disclosure, I trust that Rogers will do the right thing when I comes to actually putting in the insulation. Really great experience with them so far.

We interviewed several companies and they seemed the most professional and knowledgeable. also their price was reasonable. it took them more time than they originally said to complete the job, but given that the job was complicated I think this is reasonable. The house is still not perfectly insulated (some cold spots) but so much better than before. We're very happy.

They finished the job and cleaned up pretty nicely. They were very good. The house is nice and healthy right now. Their responsiveness was very good. I didn't have any problem with their punctuality. Their professionalism was great.

It was not expensive and they were very diligent and conscientious in how they approached their work. We thought their price was competitive because there was some additional work we had done.

Description of Work: Unfortunately Rogers Insulation could not perform the work I need done, but Mr. Taglienti answered my email promptly and told me the name of the type of window I need repaired (which is a lot more useful than my haphazard description!). I very much appreciate the time he took to help me and wish I could use Rogers Insulation for my work.

The woman who I spoke with on the phone to make the appointment was very helpful and worked with me to find a convenient time for an appointment. When Rick came to the house (on time), he was very professional and took a tour of the basement, living space, and the attic. He was very thorough and answered all of the questions that I had. We have the potential for moisture in our house and so it was suggested that we wait this season out and do some research. I was given some (what I thought) good advice and steps to prepare our home before insulating. Rick got back to me on a quote within a day and followed up with names of items that he had suggested in our visit. We have not hired them for the project, but we have a few steps to complete before we hire insulators.

Based on my interview with John, I chose Roger's Insulation to do the work on my home. The team arrived on the days scheduled and were here for two days. The team members were courteous, conscientious, and thorough. I would easily hire the company again.

Description of Work: Added insulation to the attic and seal air gaps in the attic and basement with insulating foam. At the time of the work, there was a rebate on insulating homes so the total estimate was about $1700 of which we only paid $400.

I found them via Angies List for a MassSave funded insulation upgrade. the crew arrived on time and worked fast with an eye towards overall quality. crappy weather day (was rainy and cold) but the crew kept their spirits up. cleaned up well after themselves with cellulose insulation you could have a mess but they did well.

(There was a delay of several months due to their backlog, but they encouraged me to call if desired to advance with a cancellation.) They were very polite and placed a dropcloth over the path they needed to do the work. Skipped lunch and worked straight through to completion (10 hours). Completely vacuumed work areas. At end of job, Brett briefed me on what was done and tested with air leak meter. Blower door test showed 15% improvement. This work was largely financed by the electric utility through MassSave. I chose Rogers Insulation among many choices authorized because of their "A" rating. They lived up to their billing.

+ -1 moreEverything went as schedule. The crew was professional, polite and clean. Most of all the work was designed, supervised and checked in person by Rick Taglienti. When Rick found upland minor fixes during the job he addressed them with no additional charges. With that he won me over. I would recommend working with Rick to anyone as he proved once more that honesty is the best policy. And I did rehired Rogers insulation the following year for additional work I wanted. The long time perspective allows me to say the gas bills were reduced by 15- 20%, the basement pipe that froze in the past didn?t froze during last week?s single digit temperatures and no ice dams so far.
Description of Work: Total Price $3,500.00 Less state incentive ($2,000.00) my cost was $1,500.00. Install 2 – 4” X 16” soffit vents in the main house (1 in the front, 1 in the rear), Remove existing insulation, blocking soffits, Install Propavent insulation baffles in all eaves where soffit vents are installed, Install 6” dense pack insulation in the front and rear sloped ceiling areas in both attics, Install catwalk from the attic access, hatch to the whole house fan, Install minimum 9” R-30 fiberglass damming around both attic access hatches, the catwalk and the whole house fan cover, Install minimum R-30 Class 1 cellulose insulation on top of the existing blown-in fiberglass in both attic areas to bring entire attic to R-49, Install 2 roof vents in the rear of the main roof. Remove existing cardboard and insulation in the kneewall roof rafters in the kneewall eave space located in bedroom Install 2” thick foam insulation board and dense pack cellulose insulation in the roof rafters Clean work area Install roof vent for access into office attic, Install additional cellulose, insulation to bring total R-Value to 49 Insulate the garage ceiling with blown-in cellulose to the full depth of the ceiling joists, Holes will be made in the garage ceiling, material blown-in and foam plugs installed over the holes Clean work area I reheard the topic as much as I could and got proposals from three contractors. Rick Taglienti provided me with what I perceived as the most honest and cost effective proposal.

We contacted John from Rogers Insulation and he was very helpful coming to our house and advising us that the best solution would be to create a hot roof by applying spray foam to the underside of the roof sheeting. He even was so kind to write us a letter to the Builder stating that the existing attic insulation was not done properly, so that we had something for discussions with the Builder. As the Builder refused to do anything about the attic insulation, we hired Rogers Insulation and John's people did an excellent job performing the spray foam and left the attic quite clean. We certainly would hire them again and would recommend them highly to others.
Description of Work: Our attic needed better insulation to prevent ice damming. John from Rogers Insulation recommended spray foam to create a hot roof. He was very professional and his people did an excellent job performing the spray foam insulation.

John came to my house originally to give me a quote on insulation and provided me great information on an efficiency program the state was running (Masssaves) that would save me about two-thirds of the cost of my project. With that said, it was no guarantee he would get the work if I went through this program. Really appreciated John's honesty. When It came time to look for new windows I reached out to John to see what his capabilities were. Terry Holness was running the windows side of the business and was also very honest, reliable and responsive. Terry went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the new windows. I was hesitant to buy the Seaway windows versus the local Harvey brand but I am glad that I did. They really look great. Updated 12/21/2012: I was worried about the performance of the windows initially; however, after 2 full winters and 3 summers the windows have performed wonderfully and I have had no issue. Between the insulation and windows we have seen a dramatic drop in our oil purchases as compared to prior years.

+ -1 moreI had my home insulated through the Mass Save (Conservation Services Group) program so the total cost of the service was approx $3000 but my portion was about $900. The people on the phone were incredibly nice and helpful. The workers themselves were also very nice. However, they seemed to spend a great deal of outdoor time talking vs. working steadily so the job took considerably longer than anticipated. In addition, it was far messier than anticipated and they used my vacuum cleaner to do a bit of tidying vs. bringing their own. When Conservation Services Group came to inspect the job a few months later, they found several things that Rogers Insulation was supposed to have done (e.g. # of actual inches of insulation was less than what was contracted) and they had also missed blowing in insulation in a number of places. Rogers had to come back to do the work. Again, the people were very nice, but a little late arriving and again, it took considerably longer than it should have due to a good amount of "chat" time. In addition, they left without telling me that they were leaving and left my basement door ajar. I didn't realize that the door was open until the next day so my house was basically unprotected for about 36 hours. Overall, I would still recommend them, but I was a little disappointed given the high rating they had at the time that I selected them.

+ -1 moreThey showed up on time and at the time they said they would. Beforehand, they sent me an email explaining what they were going to be doing and when they were doing it. They stuck to the time frame and were very polite when they were at my house. I asked one of the workers to help me with a favor and he was glad to help. It took them 5-6 hours to finish the job. I am not an expert on the insulation that they did in the attic, and MassSave is going to come back and inspect it, but I trust that they did a quality job and I would recommend them to other.
Description of Work: They installed attic insulation and insulation for two exterior doors. I used the Massachusetts State agency, MassSave, to help me with the cost. They paid for 75% of the work, and I paid for the last 25%. The program to help me save money was introduced by Rogers Insulation.
