Bob Phalan is an exceptionally experienced and talented craftsman. He is very astute in his analysis and project planning with a very strong work ethic. Bob explained in detail what he needed to do to rebuild our front door awning and posts while maintaining the integrity of the original awning and masonry in place. Bob stayed in communication every step of the way and worked very hard to create a beautiful and strong front door awning and support posts for our home. We are very happy with the finished product and will most definitely call Phalan Construction and Handyman to work on our future home projects. We highly recommend, without hesitation, Phalan Construction and Handyman. We rate it 10 out of 10!!!

Working with Bob was very easy. He arrived on time and prepared with all of the tools and materials required. As we discussed the project in more detail, Bob was open and accepting of my requests and provided valuable feedback to improve the result; he is clearly knowledgeable. He left a clean worksite at the end of the project. His fee estimate was very accurate and reasonable.

Mr. Phalan came on a *Sunday*, in response to my email, inspected the damage (20 feet up), fixed it, painted, all under 1.25 hours. Great service, great job. I have used his services for years, from carpentry to ice dams. He's been great!

Bob is an excellent handyman. We've used him on many different occasions. He even finished our basement several years ago, and did really high level work. While his rates are competitive, you might pay a bit more to work with Bob, but he always does a thorough, high-quality job and leaves your home spotless when he's done.

We had a roof sag and needed a carpenter to help reframe and shore it up. We also had some other smaller siding needing to be replaced on side of house. Bob was extremely professional and had a very quick response time. Explained in clear terms how he could help and what the work involved would be. Would definitely hire again!

Bob did a great job adjusting a new door that would not close properly. Very easy to communicate with and he clearly takes pride in his work. Highly recommended.

Bob removed some existing damaged drywall and torn commercial-grade carpet in my basement as well as some unfinished framing. He also reframed ceiling soffits. Then he framed a new utility closet and wall for a future bathroom, put in wall insulation, installed three doors (one of which was a double door), framed and installed a picture window, and installed Pergo waterproof laminate flooring. He painted the ceiling and walls, installed kitchen cabinets, repaired a window sash, and installed and painted trim, including around some lolly poles to make them look like columns. He also installed matching antique bronze door hardware, insulated a cold water pipe that dripped condensation that would have ruined the new drywall ceiling, and made a nice shelf on a half wall as well as some custom plywood doors for a storage space under my stairs. He also installed wallpaper in the upstairs half bathroom. He is meticulous, thorough, and conscientious, and the quality of his craftmanship is very high. My new basement is absolutely beautiful. Since I didn't bid this entire job out, and because the total ran over the estimate that Bob provided upfront (for example, painting wasn't originally estimated, but it made sense to have him do it as part of the job when the time came), I rated him a 'B' in price. I assume that I'm grading the work based on what I think that the job should have cost, but I honestly don't know how to do that. He charges by the hour rather than the job, and all I have to go on to compare is the estimate that Home Depot gave for installing the cabinets, which was roughly the same as his estimate to install the cabinets. However, as I said, I am really happy with the end result and think that he does excellent work and has helpful ideas for saving money in terms of design, materials, and construction. He also cares about details that make a room look finished and complete.

Bob was able to repair the 3 doors in my home that were not closing correctly. Additionally he had time after the initial repair and was able to fix a few other doors that were also giving me some problems. You can tell by the quality of his work that he is very skilled and experienced.

Bob is terrific. He was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. The work was completed in one day and he went beyond my expectations. He not only installed the vent but putting in a thermal break so we the hood doesn't get cold. That is something I wouldn't have known to ask for. He did a thorough job cleaning up after the work was completed. I will work with Bob again.

Bob is thoughtful, and typically thinks about more than one way to address a problem, and then discusses options, which I appreciate. He's a hard worker, and stays in touch about jobs, which is a contrast to the "ghosting" we've experienced with some other contractors. His work is careful, and his expertise is broad.

Bob was responsive and did a great job fixing my sliding closet doors. Removed old, worn hardware and installed a new, high quality track. Planning to hire him again for other odd jobs.

Bob was able to marry in a line of original 35+ y.o. tiles into the new walls; place shelving and grab bars exactly where we wanted them. The new plumbing included shut-offs and a better thru-closet wall access all well thought out. Thorough daily clean-up and at end of job included.
