Bob knows his stuff! He went about protecting the range top immediately below the microwave, removed the current microwave, made sure the mounting screws for the new unit were centered on the studs and did his thing. In roughly 2 hours, the old unit was removed and the new one installed. He even adjusted (centered) the new unit to my liking - not an easy task in a kitchen in which NOTHING is square. He also used a HEPA-filtered vacuum to clean up. What more could you ask? I highly recommend Bob. He's professional, knowledgeable, and experienced.

Bob was very professional and took great pride in his work. My wife and I appreciated his attention to detail and his friendly demeanor. The work was spread out over several weeks but amounted to about 8 days in total. Everything was done with great care, as if it was his own home. We are very pleased with Bob's work and would definitely use him again.

Everything went very well. Bob turned up when he said. He re-shingled the shed roof and replaced some rotted boards and trim on the shed. Bob's work was done very neatly and completed in one day. Bob cleaned up thoroughly, no mess left behind. I will likely hire Bob again for future projects.

Bob and I communicated via email and he gave an estimate to perform the services outlined. He contacted me to let me know he was on the way, and arrived when he said he would. He got straight to work. He did an excellent job, worked efficiently, and cleaned up after himself. We spoke about several other potential jobs that we may need done in the future. I would highly recommend Bob Phalan for anyone who requires the skills of a handyman, we'll definitely be using him again.

We hired Bob to remove and install a set of drop down attic stairs. He responded to my first email inquiry and came out to provide an estimate. He was clear that he charged for the estimate, and if hired, a portion of the estimate would be taken off the bill. He provided input on the brand of stairs that we purchase based on his previous experience. We purchased the stairs from Home Depot and once we had picked them up, let Bob know we were ready to schedule an installation date. We was able to fit us in quickly. The installation went smoothly and was within the range of the estimate he had provided. He cleaned up the area, leaving it cleaner than we he had arrived. We will use him again for future projects.

Mr. Phalan arrived on time, did the work as agreed, cleaned up immaculately and generally acted with high professionalism. We have employed him for years off and on in a variety of capacities. He is my "go to guy" for any woodwork or exterior repairs. He's even pitched in in unexpected emergencies like ice dams and foundation leaks with incredible responsiveness.

Bob did a fantastic job venting the microwave. I messaged him on his website, along with pictures of the microwave and how I wanted to connect to an existing vent and he said he could do what I wanted and could start in approximately two weeks. A few days before he could start, he emailed me to let me know that he'll be able start in a couple of days. He arrived on time and we went over what needed to be done and he got to work. He ran into a hiccup because of return HVAC vent behind the wall but he provided a couple of solutions to it and it turned out great. He finished quicker than he originally estimated and everything was left in pristine condition afterwards.

We've worked with many contractors over the past twenty years and Bob Phalan is one of the best. His attention to detail and careful, meticulous work speak to a job well done. He is courteous, professional, and always kept us informed about his progress and any issues he confronted. I would definitely use him again for any future projects or repairs.

We really enjoyed working with Bob. We are mostly DYI people with little experience hiring out work and found him professional, reliable, and hard working. He was an excellent guide as to our choices along the way, presenting a variety of options and prices. He kept us informed to the cost, and in any work requiring more than expected we had clear explanations. He is prompt and responds quickly to texts or calls. His work is solid with attention to detail, and he has a wide array of skills. He's worked hard to build his business and it shows.

Bob was great. He was very clear in his communication. He kept us informed during the project. He turned up exactly when he said he would. He worked a really long day to make sure that we could get our fence prepped and painted in a day. His work was done to a high standard. Bob is a great person to know if you don't want a full construction company but have lots of items that need doing of varying complexity.

Quick response, did job quickly and great work.

There is damage to the underlining hardwood floor and there is extra layer of flooring under the surface layer. Bob removed down to the subfloor and replaced with tiles. Job was very well done. We also installed new toilet and sink. Everything is very nicely done and attention to details. Will update if anything changes. But we will def hire again, possibly for another bigger job. This one took him about 3 days (25 hours) and He charged by the hour

Bob was a pleasure to work with. Communication was great via email and text. He showed up on time each day, explained what he was doing and went above and beyond what was requested of him. Bob installed two bathroom vanities which required extensive assembly, hung a medicine cabinet with attached lighting, and completed a few other small odd jobs around our house. For three days of work the cost was fair for the amount of work completed.

Job went very well. Bob showed up on time to replace a total of 8 shutters, fix 3 pieces of a pipe in a garage that had broken due to freezing, fixed the drywall damaged from pipe water and fixed a corner of my house where exterior molding cracked. The shutters required some extra time due my old ones not in alignment with the new ones I purchased. He worked diligently the entire time, explained what he was doing and sought input along the way. Pleasant to work with and easy going. Cleaned up after each job (a plus), took away any old materials or garbage. He charges by the hour versus the job, which I totally get as each job a little different, but he is very mindful of the time and work and keeps moving along - he is not on the phone, not smoking in some truck, or out driving around, but working full time onsite. Overall a very positive experience and I would use him again. Note: Price below is mostly for labor and some supplies (I supplied the shutters).

Bob is a thorough, detailed and professional handyman. His main project for us was installing new doors (the slabs, not pre-hung ones) in our upper-level split. The doors were solid wood doors from Home Depot, so not the greatest of quality. He basically made average/below average looking doors look like a million bucks. The doors are fitted perfectly (he really had to work to get the doors fitted appropriately because of the relative unevenness of the house), and didn't leave any detail uncovered. He was really invested in the quality of the work he did, and it showed. Bob is incredibly systematic with his approach; he really invests the time into looking at the project and mapping out, in his mind, how he's going to tackle the work. If you give him the time and leeway, he's going to turn your project into fantastic quality work. Two things I might suggest for anyone hiring Bob. Bob is not cheap. I would make sure you are pretty clear on your budget and ask that that you work with him on being communicative with how long different parts of the project will take. Bob took a lot of time to set-up to do the work he needed to do in our home, and also clean everything up at the end, all parts of the project that were built into the overall project costs. I wasn't quite clear why certain parts were taking so long, so I think being mindful of your budget and clear on why certain things are taking a while are useful in helping you understand the overall project costs.

Bob responded to my initial email within the same day with an estimate, and came over for an on-site estimate 2 days later. We agreed on the specifics of the job and Bob started working early the next week, after I had come back from a short trip. He let me know in advance what time he’d arrive at my house, worked over 9 hours the first day and finished up halfway thru the second day. Bob was very pleasant to deal with, worked with me on all my requests, was very conscientious, tidy, and careful inside the house. He may not be the cheapest quote you’ll find, but because of the quality of his work, his professionalism, honesty, and dedication to doing the job right, he’s definitely worth it. I will not hesitate to use Bob again for other upcoming projects around my house.

terrible. I hired Bob to install a pre-hung entry door to my mudroom where a storm door had been. He charged by the hour and said it took him 12+ hours to complete. He wasn't even at my house 8 hours that day and the job was left unfinished.
