+ -1 moreI brought the laptop in. They had the part in stock for my laptop. They explained everything they were going to do and why. My laptop was fixed in less than a half hour. The new location is very easy to get to and leave from.
Description of Work: I had dropped something on my laptop and it cracked the screen.

+ -1 moreI brought in the laptop to have it serviced, because it was running rather slow. After speaking with the tech for a little bit about what was wrong, I was told it might take up to a full day to complete, based on how fast it could get done. I was called the next morning at around 10am, and was told it was all set to come pick up! The only 'complaint' I would have would be that their price is a tiny bit higher than one other shop in the area, but for the quality and professionalism displayed by the technicians, it's worth the extra money! When I picked up the laptop, the technician was able to tell me just what was wrong with it and how many viruses they found! 10/10 would use them again!

+ -1 moreThey stonewalled. They insisted they were right, that I didn't know what I was talking about, and couldn't have been more indifferent or apathetic.
Description of Work: I had a maintenance contract with PC Healthstop on my PC. I also bought virus protections from them. The computer got infected, as computers do, and I brought it to them 3 weeks before my contract ran out. They said they wouldn't be able to fix it unless I got a new operating system. I said that I would research it as it may still be under warranty. I was moving at the time and didn't get back to them right away. Three days after my contract expired they somehow managed to fix the computer, and said, sure, they'd give it back, but I had to buy another contract. I said just give me my computer back, so they did--restored to its unusable state, viruses and all. Their technician was haughty and dismissive and said "I'm not going to argue with you about this." When I went to pick up my computer the owner was rude to me and wanted to talk about the bad review I put on yelp. "You're not going to discuss this?" I said, "You said you weren't going to argue with me. I'm not about to start now."

+ -1 moreWhen I brought it home and tried to turn it on, something zapped the motherboard and the PC would not turn on. When they replaced the power supply, the ON button green LED (indicating that the PC is on) was burned out. I brought it back to them to check out the problem, it was working OK at the shop. They claimed that the "electricity" in my house was bad and I needed to switch outlets and buy a new strip and extension cord. After spending an extra $35 for these items, I discovered that this was not needed but in resetting the motherboard they disabled the speaker drivers. They claimed they didn't do this and were not very helpful over the phone, nor did they try to help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone. A mediocre job and for $85/hr labor they were not very helpful or knowledgeable and didn't go above the call of duty. They could not even be bothered to blow out the dust that was inside my PC when they took it apart.

+ -1 moreI dropped it off and within 20 minutes, I received a phone call looking for a little more information regarding the issues I was having. About 25 minutes later, I got a call saying that the issue was resolved. Wow!

PC Healthstop offers the following services: Our business has grown immensely since 1990. We specialize in virus and spyware removal, memory and hard drive upgrades, CD-RW, DVD-RW and other internal enhancements along with full maintenance and repair service on desktop computers, laptops, many industry standard printers.
We do not offer any services on Mac/Apple products, nor Linux computers and devices. Additionally, we do not work on phones, tablets, or other mobile devices. The ONLY exception to this, is helping a customer set up sync software, such as iTunes, on their computer for their phone; this type of work is not covered by our service contracts, and does have a fee to perform this work.
