It went really well. Sean came round a couple of times to make sure the planning was as thorough as possible. We added on an extra bookcase at quite late notice and Sean accommodated the plans quickly and had a new quote to us in a couple of days. the project involved advising us on novel ideas to maximise the room's heating as we needed to remove the baseboard covers along the wall with the built-ins. The solution works great and looks very aesthetically pleasing too. The built-ins all have white wooden units with beautiful oak tops. Sean catered to my crazy vision of wanting the back panels of the shelving units to have graduated colors of pink, and we're all delighted with the end result. The work was all fitted when we were away for a trip, and it worked out perfectly. One adjustment needed to be made to the top of the window seat in order to fit a bed snugly against the wall, but Sean came round immediately and fixed the issue in a couple of days so we couldn't even tell there was a difference. We all love the end result, and everyone compliments the work when they see it! Professional, practical advice and great value beautiful additions to our home. We will definitely use Sean's company again.

Needham Woodworking did an excellent job in our living room. They built cabinetry under our fireplace and the TV. The TV is on a remote-controlled lift inside a cabinet. Shaun sourced the lift system, designed the details of the cabinet that would house the lift, and installed the whole unit flawlessly. We wanted a wood veneer finish and Shaun worked with me very patiently to find the right veneer and stain it to our satisfaction. Our interior is modern and we went with the horizontal direction of the grain. The grain is beautifully matched across all the doors. Shaun also worked with our general contractor on the location of the HVAC vent that ended up underneath the cabinetry. Shaun and Tim made an opening for the vent in the side of the cabinet, which works very well. This is a professional team, very pleasant to work with, great outcome. I would highly recommend them.

Needham Woodworking came highly recommended from our neighbors and exceeded expectations. Shaun Ritter was extremely helpful and creative in helping us think through and design our projects offering thoughtful ideas and suggestions, with consideration to budget, that were much better than we originally had come up with. He used design technology to help us visualize the entertainment center as well as the mudroom and worked with us to refine the specifications to best meet our needs. Shaun and Tim's execution on the design was flawless and we couldn't be more satisfied with the look, quality and finish. They are in high demand so need to schedule in advance but well worth the wait to get a great team, design and quality product. We highly recommend them.

I called Shaun Ritter after recommendations from two neighbors in our Natick MA area neighborhood. We already had an Idea of what we wanted so I send him a picture of a prior wall unit we had previously built and together we optimized and finished the new design. Shaun then developed a series of 3d drawings, sent them to me by e-mail and we further optimized the wall unit: size, shelf layout, trim, and balance between drawers and doors for the lower storage areas. Shaun and his team then built and painted the unit in his Needham MA shop; deliverd to our home, took the old wall unit pieces down to the lower level for reuse and then installed and touched up the new unit so it was perfect. My wife and I are perfectionists especially on custom built items. He and his team worked very cleanly, are very punctual and deliver when they promise to deliver. They also installed some electronics for the TV as well as the HD TV. Project on a scale of 1(poor) to 10 (best) was a 15

Our overall experience was excellent and the cabinets are great. We were very impressed with quality, strength, and paint finish on the cabinets. Additionally, the finish work and all trim align perfectly (despite many angles). Shaun and his team were very professional and easy to work with. We had custom built-ins made for our livingroom and Shaun did a great job designing the layout. We absolutely LOVE them. Shaun and Tim were also really great and created two beautiful floating shelves for our kitchen despite being a tiny project- they took the time and effort to get it done for us and the shelves turned out great! Great! Architectural renderings were created on the spot to show me the design and layout of each built-in. The team prepared all of the components off site and then did a 2 day install. Install included 2 shelving/dresser units, window seat and shelves and cubbies in the large closet. They mounted my flatscreen and installed all of the DVD, Router, Cable components in the concealed drawer. I'm very pleased with the result! They accidentally made a small white scuff on the baseboard of the bed frame, but that is the only issue. Highly recommend!

I wish we would have called Shaun at Needham Woodworking first for our kitchen project and left out everyone else! Shaun came to our home to give us a quote for built-in bookshelves around our fireplace. He took measurements and asked us questions about our style and what we wanted, and then click-click-click right there on his laptop he had a 3D design all worked up for us! He noticed that we had people coming in and out of the house to give us quotes on our kitchen remodel. He offered to give us a quote if we wanted, so we said sure, why not. He really listened to our needs and came up with a design that none of the other remodelers had suggested. It was perfect. Then the same thing: click-click-click 3D design right there in our home! When we got the quote for the job, we were stunned. It was very reasonable for a job that was entirely handcrafted, and he would rip out our old cabinets too. Now the finished product looks too good to be true. We have the soft-close cabinets, glass cabinets, cookbook shelving, and lazy Susans all over our once-disfunctional kitchen. We are remodeling our basement next and asked Shaun to help us with the book shelves, but unfortunately he is booked up for a very long time. It's no wonder because he is a true craftsman who is not charging enough for his services.

Trying to find what I wanted, at the level of quality I needed was impossible. I looked online, and thru every furniture shop I could find in New England. I was going to give up hope until a friend of mine referred me to Shaun and Needham Woodworking! After seeing his previous projects I knew he had the quality I was looking for. I needed something very solid and durable, made they way they used to make furniture. After only a short but concise meeting with Shaun he drew out exactly what I had envisioned. My built in Mahogany desk and two book cases are beautiful and built to last a lifetime! In fact, the bookcases are the only ones I have ever had that don't start bending and leaning with the sheer amount of books and heavy marble bookends I put on them. Shaun was on time throughout the process, and always asked me how I felt throughout the build. I would highly recommend Shaun and his team to anyone looking for quality that's built to last and built from someone they can trust who will do what's expected, when its expected! (He also never left a mess or damaged anything, as I always seem to run into this when I have people working on or in my home!)

He is an excellent communicator who responded promptly to our communications. He solved problems and provided ideas. He thoroughly answered all of our questions about our project and gave us his personal opinions, which was tremendously helpful to us. Shaun was creative, hardworking, and respectful of our property. He listened and gave us exactly what we asked for. He used a CAD/CAM system, during our first meeting, so that we knew precisely what he was building and what we were going to receive. Shaun was probably the best contractor I have ever worked with. He was responsive, punctual and communicative throughout the entire process. When he first came to the house to check out the space, he brought his laptop, and within minutes was able to generate a basic structure of what the units would look like. Within a few days, I had detailed renderings of the units, plus an estimate. The only downside to working with Shaun is that he is so in-demand that we had to wait 2 months for the units to be done. The finished product turned out to be so above and beyond what I expected. Every surface of the piece is executed flawlessly. There is an endless amount of work and detail that went into every corner, shelf edge, molding and side panel. Shaun and his team came to install the units Thanksgiving week, and because of the detail, the install time went over. Instead of rushing to finish at the end of the day, they came back the next day to make sure everything was flawless. They also made sure the house was cleaned and reconnected all of the cables to the tv that had to be disconnected for the install. The built-ins look like they were always a part of the house, which is exactly what I wanted. Shaun was a pleasure to work with and completely professional at all times. I look forward to working with him again on my kitchen cabinets, a dining breakfront and other pieces.

During the process of designing the unit, Shaun, the owner, could not have been more helpful and responsive. He always responded to emails right away, and was more than punctual when arriving at our home. When he projected a completion date at the onset of the project, he was accurate, and the wall unit was installed on exactly the day he said it would be. This kind of service is rare (from my experience) in this industry, and he gets "big points" in my book for this. In addition, he and his co- workers reinstalled our computer systems, printers, etc and they are extremely knowledgeable in this discipline as well. In short, I would highly recommend Shaun and and team ot Needham Woodowrking for any kind of fine cabinet, woodworking, furniture project you might have.

Shaun showed up on time, listened to my ideas and made some suggestions. He brought a computer, took some measurements and within MINUTES showed me on the computer what it would look like. I had some issues with timing (these projects don't always go as planned). However, Shaun was very patient throughout the process. I am very particular and went to his shop several times to look at different types of wood and stains until I was satisfied; again, Shaun was very patient and explained everything thouroughly. I am EXTREMEMLY happy with the finished products and would highly recommend and defintiely hire them again for future projects.

It was great experience. Shaun and his team arrived exactly when they said they would and stayed until the job was done. Everyone was professional, easy to work with and seem to really care about what they were doing. Shaun designed and built a large wall of shelves in an office, shelves in a study and a shelving unit to store stereo equipment. All three projects look like they have always been there which is no small feat in a my 100 + year old house where nothing is level. Shaun is a true craftsmen with great ideas, the most patient demeanor and a clear desire to get the job done right. I have already recommend Needham Woodworking to 3 friends who have seen the recently installed shelves. I would work with Shaun and his team again any time. I love my shelves!

In a word, outstanding. Shaun is professional, prompt and a skilled, master craftsman. He designed and built cabinets for tight spaces in a bathroom, an enormous wall unit for books and electronics, a bed fram with tons of storage, and beautifully cabinetry in two bedrooms. His work is of the highest quality and his attention to detail is the best part. Shaun finishes his work perfectly. He doesn't rush and he takes care of the final 2% of touch ups. He runs a great business.

Shaun was a pleasure to work with. He and he crew did an outstanding job. The build-ins look amazing in the space. The whole process was super easy and pleasant. Shaun came over with wood samples and to took measurements, we figured out the design, he proposed some great ideas how to accomplish what we wanted. They are pretty busy, so it took a while to get the cabinets, but it was worth the wait. We are very happy with the results. I am recommending Shaun and his crew without any reservations.

They turned out excellent. They were one of the best contractors we have ever worked with. We used exsisting shelves and had them converted into build ins. He was so creative and so flexible. He really helped us get what we wanted, at our budget. He was so good.

I had a bookcase/desk designed for my den, and looked on Angie's List for cabinet makers. Shaun was one of a few that I reached out to, and he responded with a 3d rendering of the design I sent him. Based on my initial interactions with him over email, I asked him to come out to give an estimate. He came out with samples of the wood that would be used, pictures of similar projects, and he made some suggestions as to the height and a few other details based on other projects I had seen. He was very professional, courteous, and very easy to work with, so when he sent the estimate and it was within my budget, I was excited to move forward. Shaun was very easy to work with through the process - I had some wallpaper delivered to him to install on the back of the bookcase which he happily did. On the day it was installed, Shaun and his colleague were fantastic. They covered up all of my furniture in the room, when they it a snag, realizing that my old house is uneven and on one side the book case would be too tall, they suggested cutting the whole thing down a few inches so that the height difference on either side of my ceiling wouldn't be as noticeable. They cleaned up after themselves entirely and were great throughout the process. Shaun also made sure that I knew he is always in the area, so if there are any modifications I want once I figure out how I am using my new bookcase/desk, I can call him and he will come over to help. My piece is beautiful, exactly what I wanted! And, the process was easy and painless. I highly recommend Needham Woodworking!

Overall, the experience was fantastic. I was recommended by Shaun through another friend that used to work for him in his previous business. Shaun came to the house and was very courteous and professional in our initial visit. He came prepared with numerous photos and ideas on his previous projects and did not give me a "sales pitch". We bounced around ideas and he ended up giving me a 3-D layout of what he was proposing and his cost. He ended up staying at the house for about 1 1/2 hours, which was fine since i asked for recommendations on three built ins. I ended up getting two estimates and a week later i put in a deposit - 50% up front and 50% at the end during project completion. The quality and detail of his work is was impressive, the cost was on the high side but i would pay more for higher quality and workmanship. He is very busy and it takes about 5 months to get the unit after your deposit based on his workload. The installation was clean and professional and only took about a half day to complete since they were completed at his business. He also took the time to do touch up painting on areas that were affected during the installation, which may not seem like a big deal but shows me that he cares about the customer and the final product. I highly recommend his work for anyone wanting quality custom built in, remember it won't be cheap, but it is a fair price.

Of all of the contractors we spoke with, Shaun was the easiest to talk to. We had a somewhat non-traditional idea for the wall unit and Shaun was able to immediately envision what we were trying to describe and come up with suggestions on the spot. He even put together a 3D model of it on his laptop while we sat together. It was incredibly helpful to see a version of what we wanted then and there. He was attentive to our budget and had ideas for how we could save money. We ended up going in a different direction with the entertainment center, but if we can gone with custom built, we would have definitely used Shaun at Needham Woodworking. We were beyond impressed with him and would recommend him to anyone.

Shaun Ritter and his team at Needham Woodworking were very professional and friendly to work with. After getting a couple of estimates (one from a contractor and a 2nd from California Closets), I contact Needham Woodworking. They stopped by and worked with me on the design and quickly provided a very competitive quote. They also included a much higher quality of material and were flexible to work with us on minor changes. The overall experience was just terrific. Communication back and forth was very efficient and friendly. We able to view the in-progress work at his shop to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. The installation was quick and professional. Including laying down tarps to protect the carpet and a complete clean-up afterwards. The look and quality of the finish product is exceptional. We very happy with the end result and we would definitely work with Shaun and Needham Woodworking again.

My whole experience working with Shaun was excellent. After a kitchen remodel, I was looking for a hutch style cabinet with a large enough opening for a flat screen TV. When I finally realized that in order to get what I wanted, I would have to have it custom built, I contacted Needham Woodworking with a rough drawing of what I was looking for. Shaun responded promptly with his ideas and a preliminary estimate. We then scheduled a time for him to come to the house and take measurements and complete a CAD design. This was all done within a 2 week time frame and when I decided to go ahead with the project, I was told it would take 6 - 8 weeks to be built (in his shop). I was hoping to have it before Thanksgiving and despite the hurricane, Shaun was true to his word. He and his crew delivered it and finished installation November 21st. I am very pleased with the work. Special details such as the ball feet, the arched panels on doors and the inside lighting really make it stand out. The finish is beautiful and it complements the other woodwork in the room. I highly recommend Shaun and his company. I specifically wanted a free standing hutch, but would definitely choose him again for built-in cabinets and other furniture pieces. Pricing was fair for the quality of work and custom design. Total cost: $3,845.00

I was in the market for a built-in cabinet in my master bedroom. Our home is only a year and a half old and our bedroom needed a built - in. I had called 3 people to come and give me a price. Shaun at Needham Woodworking was by far the most prompt and had the most competitive price. We set up a time and he was extremely timely. He was able to work up a price right there on the spot in my home. After a few design changes, in which he was readily able to accommodate and pleasant to work with, we set a date for the install. He was very accommodating with my work schedule and arrived promptly at 7:00 am. He and his partner worked all day on the install and it looks beautiful!!!! I am someone who has difficulty with making choices. Shaun was very patient. I could not decide on knobs for my cabinetry and he came out after the job was done to install the knobs~he came out the day after I informed him that the knobs had arrived!! What service! I could not be happier with my cabinetry! I will definitely use Needham Woodworking again in the future!!!
