Great! Had very good experience with fiancé landscaping service last year and will use again come spring. Polite, complete and good quality work.

Marcelo Madrona is one of the best people we have worked with.  He is professional and attentive.  He helped us with a HUGE hardscaping project, and even though we were newbies, he handled our requests and "attention to detail" with the utmost professionalism.  His crew is on time and does amazing work (shaping each stone with a chisel).  2 years in, it looks as amazing as on day 1.  Marcello came in on budget, and always kept us involved at the right level- never bothering us with minutia but guiding us through the design and construction process.  He met us at the stone yard and spent probably 2 hours looking at every option with us and helping us design it.  At one point, the bluestone cap on the retaining wall was slightly imperfect, and he had the crew rip it out and reinstall a new one on his own dime.  One the day the lighting was to be installed, our landscaping electrician flaked out.  It meant potentially several days of lost time.  Marcelo called in a contact of his, and in a matter of hours the project was back on track.  He is as much a perfectionist as we are, and his results are truly a work of art!  He transformed our backyard from a pit to our little slice of paradise.

They were very professional, courteous and prompt. They completed the work as described within the proposal, and all within a couple of weeks.

Madrona Brothers took down a large, rotting retaining wall and replaced it with a new retaining wall using interlock blocks.  There was a fence on top of the old wall, as well as landscaping that had to be taken out and put back.  I cannot tell you what an amazing job they did.  Vincent's attention to detail is impeccable, his team works hard and they do fantastic work.  The new wall is so solid, it will last for years and years.  I feel safe with my kids playing in the back yard again!  Excellent quality work.  Not the least or most expensive quote, on the high end, but you get what you pay for.  I highly recommend Madrona Brothers.

During the offer process, he was up front and extremely knowledgeable about his offered services.  And while he wasn't the most affordable of the estimates we received (out of 4, he was the 2nd most affordable), we still went with him because we trusted him.  He was the kind of professional that didn't act overwhelmed by the job-at-hand, or treat you like an idiot (its amazing how so many other companies are like this!!!).
During the work phase, we set dates and they arrived on-time, took care of the jobs, and provided guidance on how to grow the new grass (both verbal and written / emailed).  
They also came out afterwards and fertilized the yard w/o us asking for this service.
We are very happy with our new yard.  And we are the envy of all of our neighbors (so many have stopped by asking how we got such a lush growth in such a short amount of time!).

Competitive pricing for lawn care and cutting. Landscaping pricing on the upper end of the scale.

Great experience.  I emailed to set up a time to get an estimate and Vincent got back to me within a day.  We set up a time and he showed up on time and was extremely professional and knowledgeable.  Within two days he had emailed me a quote for three different services (aeration and overseeding, as well as some bush removal and possibly building a stone patio).  I opted only for the aeration/overseeding right now, but will consider using them for the other services come spring.  We set up a time for them to aerate and overseed and they arrived when scheduled.  They spent a lot of time doing it...my mother who was visiting and watched them do the work said that it was the most thorough aeration job she had ever seen.   A few weeks later I'm seeing the results of their work with new grass emerging...much thicker...and I am really looking forward to the full results in the fall.
Two things in particular that I really appreciated.  One, I pointed out to Vincent the different areas of my yard that got more/less shade.  He suggested using two different types of grass seed depending on the amount of shade the lawn got in that area.  I think this has really helped the new grass come in in the more shady areas.  Second, a few days after the work I realized I didn't know what type of grass seed they put down in the shady areas...just because I wanted to know for the future, I sent him an email, which he responded to promptly with the specific seed mix they used.
All in all, it was a good experience and I will definitely consider using them again in the future.

Outstanding.  Very punctual, great work, punctual, very clean, outstanding work crew and greart landscaping ides/suggestions by Vincent.  Can not say enough positive things about Madrona.  I have worked with apx. a half dozen landscaping companies and none come close to Madrona Bros. in terms of quality and responsiveness.  Their bid was competitive and their work was amazing.  Will use them again and again.   Their prior Angie's list reviews are outstanding and I now know why.   Cannot think of anyone doing better work.  Did everyhting they said they would on time, slightly below estimated costs and with phenomenal customer service.  THE BEST.

They were prompt and gave a competitive estimate. They adhered to the estimate. The workmanship was excellent and done within a week. Everyone was friendly and they cleaned up before leaving each day. We were very pleased and would use them again.

Madrona Brothers is exceptionally professional and thorough in their work. While flexible in their scheduling, they are also punctual and respectful of your property. They are also willing to work with your plans and what you envision.

We were really pleased with the work that Madrona Brothers did for us. Vincent came out as soon as we called to give us an estimate. We received that estimate within 24 hours via email. Our only difficulty was calling them back because of a phone problem but that was quickly resolved as they kindly gave us their cell phone number.
The crew was always on time, very pleasant, efficient hard workers. We had a few days of heavy rain but they worked when they could even in the rain but always cleaned up at the end of the day no matter what.
As they neared the end of the project, they asked if we would like them to mulch the landscaped garden. We decided to have them do it and added a bit more of mulching to the list. They were very agreeable to do this and they did a fabulous job. They don't just dump the mulch - they cleaned out the areas and edged the gardens then mulched! Very professional.
The price came in right on target even though we added the extra work at the end. They honored a special 10% discount we had seen  on Angies list that they had been offering so that helped pay for the extra amount of work!
I would highly recommend this company to friends and family and would use them again!

Everything went well, they were responsive in getting things priced, scheduled and completed. They did accidentally break one of my basement window well covers, but I'm sure this was an accident and unrealized at the time. Quality work and good clean up.
Small but important detail: Marcelo stopped by to show us the exact type of mulch they would be putting down. This was important to my wife and they did this w/o being asked.

The job was performed above expectations.  Very professional communication and service.  An appointment for an estimate was arranged promptly and estimate was delivered by email the same day.  We were contacted with the option of an earlier start date which suited us very well.  Work was performed in by a pleasant, professional crew.  They were in and out in less than two days, very little disruption.  Communication is excellent, and clear instruction was given on how to care for our new lawn.

Madrona Bros. was professional, friendly, and very easy to deal with.  Our lead contact was Vincent.  Quotes were provided promptly and in writing, using email, after site visits to understand the jobs.  Work was begun as promised.  We ran into some problems while the masonry repairs were underway, as we encountered some rotten wood on some of the adjacent sills.  Vincent stopped work after cleaning up the site, so that we could have carpentry repairs done.  He resumed work promptly after the carpentry repairs had been completed.  Vincent showed up on site each day to explain the tasks to his team of workers, and he would stop back to check in during the day.  His guys, Maurizio and Heronimo, the master mason, were knowledgeable, pleasant and easy to work with.  The final result of the masonry work is excellent and we are very pleased.
Finally, as to pricing, Vincent's quote of $1870.00 for the stoop repair was very competitive.  He graciously then extended us his advertised 10% Angie's List discount on this work upon request.  This was an excellent price in our estimation!
 In summary, we are very pleased with our interactions with Madrona Bros., and the quality of their work.  We would recommend them completely, and do plan to use them again in the future.

The work was completed as promised and on time. Marcelo himself came out with a bobcat to remove the concrete paving which was not easy. He also supervised and was on site to inspect the work done by his team. I was very impressed with the professional and quality approach by this company and highly recommend it.

They were great. It was a couple of guys and it was done within 2 days. They were really fast and really good. We would definitely use them again.

We were very, very happy with the work designed and done by this crew.  
Their quote was within ~10% of three other companies that gave us estimates. We chose Madrona because we really liked that their quote was detailed enough to give us confidence in what they planned to do, and because the owner seemed knowledgeable and took pride in his work.
Their website talked about all work being guaranteed and that they won't stop until you're left with a smile.  I assumed this was just a cute overstatement, but it was reality.  The team is dedicated to doing quality work.  The owner, Marcelo, noticed if anything was amiss as the project proceeded and made sure his team corrected, and if we pointed anything out he was happy to adjust things as well (and we are extremely picky).  
The final product is beautiful, with the lawn repaired well around the work site.  100% satisfied.

Overall the project went great.  The quote was a definitely not a bargain basement price, but was reasonably in line with other quotes I received, and I was very comfortable with Vincent so I decided to go with Madrona Brothers.  I was very happy with the quality of the work.  I arranged to be home on the day they were coming simply because I'm a little bit of a micro manager when it comes to home projects.  Vincent and his crew were great about checking with me when they had questions, and giving me the opportunity to make sure the project was done 100% the way I wanted it before they were finished.  Now my backyard has a significantly bigger usable area than it had before, and the fence is ready to go in.  I am considering hiring them again if we end up choosing paver stones for our patio area, my first experience was definitely good enough that I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

My experience with Madrona Brothers on our patio project was outstanding from start to finish.  I highly recommend working with Madrona Brothers. I worked directly with one of the two co-owners, Marcelo Madrona.  From our first meeting, and throughout the project, Marcelo took the time to explain all the possible options, pros and cons, and recommendations.  He was very patient and sensitive to our need for information to help in making decisions.  This was true not only in developing an estimate and securing a contract, but extended throughout the project, and Marcelo remained available to assist all along the way.  Marcelo was available on-site, and he also returned phone calls and emails promptly and consistently throughout the project.  This high level of attention to the customer and effective communication all added up to give me a lot of trust and confidence in working with Madrona Brothers.

It was also clear from the very beginning that Marcelo was very experienced and knew his business very well.  I really appreciated his attention to detail and his careful explanations of the technical and aesthetic options and choices related to the size, location, materials, and other aspects of the patio installation.  This really built and added to the trust I had in working with Marcelo.  He advised us well on the height of the patio, length and width in relation to landscaping and other features in the yard, and the nuances of slope, pitch, and drainage that would keep water moving off the patio and yard in the right way.  Marcelo knows his materials and advised us well as to the right kind of pavers for our needs.  He also installed structural retaining walls where needed to support the patio for the long term.  Marcelo also recommended and constructed a dry well to direct water from the downspouts away from the patio and adjacent lawn.  Again, he explained the options well and helped us make the right decision.

Madrona brothers was not the least expensive of our estimates, but they provided much more than any other company in terms of
structural integrity, materials, and quality of work.  I don?t regret spending a single dollar.  The overall value of our investment was very high.

And finally, I was extremely pleased with the final outcome and the quality of work.  The patio is a huge success.  Not only is it exactly
what we wanted, attractive, well designed, artfully installed, and functional, but I also feel it is extremely well-built and made to last.  The dry well is working perfectly.  I couldn?t recommend Madrona Brothers more highly.

Marcelo and his crew were punctual, thoughtful, courteous and neat. Marcelo carefully discussed the few issues that arose during the course of the project, and made adjustments according to our preferences. The crew did a meticulous, professional job. We couldn't be more pleased.

Marcelo is very professional and knowledgeable about landscape / hardscape construction. He was able to under bid the others because he has a bobcat machine that he used to breakup the old patio and carry off huge chunks of concrete. This was 1/3 of the expense but had to be done. Also, he very cleverly uses coupons. He is a very good communicator.The workers were prompt and courteous. I was very impressed with Marcelo's engineering skills. He pitched the patio in such a way that water drains away from the house and wisely suggested protecting the cellar window, and he installed the devise. He also suggested a small retaining wall so the patio is neat and easy to maintain. It is clear that he has lots of experience and I certainly needed his advise!The workers did a wonderful job cleaning up. They raked all the areas that were disturbed and planed grass seed. I am happy to report that is grass is up and growing!

Great, prompt service.  Came out to discuss job before giving estimates on several items, letting us choose what to have done and what not to do now.  Got the job done in 1 day.  Price was high, but fair.  We will use Marcelo and his team again!

We had a great experience with Madrona Bros. Marcelo made the entire project very easy for us and made sure that we were happy with results at every phase of the project. While my husband focused on the construction details, I focused on the design. My husband (who works in construction himself) knew in speaking with Marcelo that he would do the job right and would not cut corners to get in with a lowbsll bid. They had a common appreciation for the construction aspects, like the depth of the concrete foundation and the amount of crushed stone and sand required to ensure the work would last with minimal maintenance for many years to come. From a design standpoint, I had an idea of what I wanted but couldn't visualize how it would work. Marcelo offered great recommendations and provided me with physical samples and options to ensure I was comfortable with the selections before he ordered them. I appreciated that Marcelo took the time to discuss the pros and cons of each option, made suggestions and gave us the latitude to make our decision. He also ensured that the design was to our liking by laying out the walkway in piping that we could shift, laying out the fieldstone and bluestone designs, marking where the steps in the walkway would go, etc. Marcelo outlined exactly what his crew would do on a daily basis, what we needed to approve and when. We spoke every morning before I left for work and came home every evening to review the work done that day. Every stage of the project was completed as Marcelo said it would be. In fact, he was very apologetic on how long the work was taking, which from my perspective was pretty quick given the size of the job and the horrendous heat wave we experienced. Overall, the experience we had with Madrona Bros. was excellent. The crew showed up on time every day; they were hard working and respectful of our home, family and neighbors. Marcelo was always available when we needed to talk with him, coming over on weekends and early mornings (6 am!) to accommodate our work schedules. We had just two issues where the work completed during the day was not to my husband's standards (pitch of one step and layout of some pavers). Marcelo was very responsive to our concerns; reviewing the items in question with us and promptly making them right. We highly recommend Madrona Bros. for masonry work and will be using them in the fall to landscape the front yard!

Wish everything in life was as easy as working with Marcelo and Madrona Brothers.  Very quick to respond to request for estimate.  Came to house and had some nice suggestions.  Very responsive to change to permeable pavers.  Quick with estimate that was consistent with other company quotes.  Very clear with time frame for start date (3 weeks out- which was delayed a little due to lots of rain days) and completion (2 weeks which ended up being a little less).  They had a nice balance between offering suggestions and respecting your wishes.  It felt like a nice partnership.  Very responsive to calls and questions.  Marcelo would show up most days and give us an update and discuss any potential changes.  The project was expensive but also very labor intensive,as it was a tight space and the excavation needed to be done by hand.  A crew showed up every day and did a nice job cleaning up.  Very pleased with the final product and would highly recommend them.
