I was a second time customer. After hiring them the first year, I decided to go back. I was late in calling them and was told I should have called earlier, however they would do the work. I thought businesses would call with a reminder, looking for business. In any case, they came. The clean up was well done, however they edged a tiny garden with very ugly grey stone. I am not very experienced in the garden and hadnt thought to ask about style and what options there were. They came out with grey bricks and it looked more like a grave than a garden! I had wished we had had more conversation about what I was looking for beforehand.

Chris was very patient with us as our condo took months to decide on the work to be done. He transformed the front of our building and it looks great. We would use him again in a second.

Chris Gallagher answered my first call within a day. We discussed the project in detail and he gave me an estimate at the outset. He kept to his estimate, and our budget, even though things were changed somewhat during the job. He continued to communicate with me throughout the job to be sure that he was meeting our needs at each stage of it. He was always accessible, easy to talk to, and a pleasure to work "with" as was his crew. He really improved and made our property look great. I look forward to working with him again. I can highly recommend him to anyone.

Chris met with us in May to take a look at our walkway and front and side yard and discuss what we wanted done. A week later Chris came back and gave us a detailed proposal which included tearing out and installing a new walkway and drain and landscaping the front and side yard. His proposal included a plant and tree list that ?hris described in detail. He suggested we review the plantings and get back to him with any changes we would want to make. A few days later we emailed Chris with our changes, which Chris promptly reworked into his proposal. We met a week later to go over the final design and schedule the installation. The landscape and walkway installation was performed without a hitch, due in no small measure to Chris and his crew's expertise and team work. Our experience with Chris and his associates was outstanding. Not only is Chris consistently responsive and professional, but his entire crew was a pleasure to work with.

We contacted Chris Gallagher and he promptly came to our home to look at our yard and listen to our plans and hopes for landscaping. Chris then drew up an impressively detailed 'blueprint' for our property including specific plants, cost of the individual plants and estimated labor costs. He returned to our home to provide us a copy and discuss the project. We were thrilled with his expertise and creativity. At that point we decided what aspects of the plan we wanted to move ahead with and any modifications we wanted to incorporate. Work on our project started slightly after the projected start date due to extensive rain. However, as soon as Chris and crew started working on our landscaping they remained focused on our job until it was complete. They are very hardworking and were truly enjoyable to have around! Our property was rapidly transformed and we were very happy with the process and the final results.

Chris came out within a couple of days after I called and gave a very detailed proposal. His price was very competitive as well. He and his coworker did a good job lowering the dirt level around the house, rearranging the plants, and grading the lawn. The hydroseeding went as planned and grass started to come out in about 1 week. Chris came out again yesterday to take another look at the lawn and overseeded areas that have seen less grass. Overall, Chris was very responsive, responsible, detailed about his work. He is great to work with.

Chris called me back immediately and came out within a few days of my original call. Very nice, personable man. I told him what I wanted and to please work up a proposal. He had to come back out to measure, but that kept getting pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances. He called several times and I did speak with him on occasion. Chris seems to be overwhelmed by trying to deal with too many customers and once. He usually sounded flustered. I believe that the work he would have done would have been excellent based on his reviews and his conscientious manner, but I had to push to get a proposal so I could make a decision. I never gave him a deadline myself except right at the end. I counted on his own deadlines but was put off a few times. I often felt that I was not a priority, but I think that is because he bites off more than he can chew sometimes. He also intimated that the reason he had not been able to work up a proposal was because he could not get me on the phone. This was not true as the conversations did not do anything but reiterate what I had told him the first day, and usually the calls were to inform me that he would do this or that sometime within the near future. What I wanted never changed. We had some communication issues as well, but he was very kind to resolve them with me and did work me up a brief proposal as quickly as he could so that I could make a decision.

Chris was a pleasure to work with. He's a very nice, decent guy. He came to our house, listened to what we wanted and came back a few days later with a layout and price quote. We changed some of the plants he suggested based on our personal preferences and scheduled the work. There were some very minor delays in getting the job started as originally scheduled, but Chris was always great about communicating with us about these small schedule changes. We were very pleased with the outcome and thought his prices were very reasonable. Also, he helped us out by taking some trash from an interior project (that Boston's trash pick up wouldn't take) to a recycling center for us and passed along that charge, but it saved us a lot of headaches!

Overall, the project went extremely well. From the moment I contacted him, Chris was extremely responsive and kept me continually apprised of when our project would begin. Chris Gallagher and Pat Keniry, a member of his crew, remained with the project until it was completed. Chris reviewed the scope of the project and developed a landscape design plan in consultation with us. He and Pat were on site daily. Chris Gallagher coordinated the project and recommended various associates who handled site preparation including tree removal and pruning services, stump removal, installation of dry wells, stripping and reshaping of front, rear, and side yards, removal of asphalt walk way, removal of old fence and installation of new stockade fence, installation of a lawn irrigation system for all new lawn areas, and installation of new wrought iron railings on concrete stairs of front entrance. Chris continued to follow-up with us after his portion of the overall project was completed to insure that we were satisfied with the quality of the services provided by the individuals he had recommended.

This was the first time I fully counted on Angie s List for anything. I was impressed not only with the number of positive responses, but also how Chris responded to the reports. Timing wasn t an important factor to me. I cared only that the planting was completed before it got too cold, and that once the job was started it didn t drag on. I had some thoughts on ways to relandscape the front, but also wanted to work with someone who could make good suggestions. Chris measured the site and created a design drawing with specific plantings that we worked from. With more consideration we both made some adjustments to the original design. The end result was great. Chris and his team were very professional. They kept in touch on scheduling and any issues. Came when they said they would and worked daily on the job 'til it was completed (we were lucky with weather). They were fair about pricing, did a few extra things to make the final design look better, and gave good advice for getting the plantings established and protected.

They did a great job with the drainage system. Very professional. Offered me a couple choices for the system. Answered my many questions. Some of the hollies did not survive the transplant, but it was not guaranteed that they would, and Gallagher and colleagues replaced them for a few hundred dollars more.

Chris was very attentive and gave me the names of people for services he didn't cover (adding stairs to my deck). He was great about follow up and extremely pleasant to work with. I decided to wait until Spring to do the work (because I had to replace a roof ).

They did a fine job. They did what they were supposed to do. The did arrive when they were suppose to and they were very easy to work with. All in all, we are happy with everything and very well may be using them again.

An excellent overall experience. Chris prepared a thorough estimate and was less expensive than alternatives. He agreed to a timeline which he ultimately hit and kept me updated about when he would start the project and provided daily email updates during the work. The project looks as good as we hoped and he was a pleasure to work with.

Chris was terrific to work with. We contacted him in February to completely redesign our yard and went over the final designs in March. Although bad weather backed up his other jobs, he was able to start work at the end of May and worked straight through until he completed the job, regularly working Saturdays and even one Sunday. His crew, particularly Pat, were pleasant, skilled and hardworking. When we left on vacation for a week, I had no qualms about leaving Chris in charge. During the time we were away, a severe lightening storm knocked a neighbor's tree into our backyard, destroying one of our new trees and several other plants. Chris helped remove the tree, replaced the plants and re-mulched the area. It was a lot of work and he charged only for the materials he needed to replace. One thing I learned from this experience is how difficult it is to predict and maintain a landscaping schedule in the New England climate. During the time we worked with Chris, the weather ranged from rainy to extremely hot to severe thunderstorms. Chris stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process, letting me know how the schedule looked and when he anticipated starting. Other landscapers I interviewed ball-parked costs considerably higher than Chris and the final price was within a few hundred dollars of the initial estimate. These were anticipated overages given the need to replace the damaged tree and our decision to add additional plants and build a raised vegetable garden. Chris stops by regularly to check on the plants and lawn, even hand watering when he thinks it necessary. We had a very positive experience and would definitely hire him again.

Chris did an excellent job! The plantings are lovely, the approach to the front of my home is exactly what we had hoped for. Chris was very flexible with new changes and always kept in close contact by phone. His workers were polite and knowledgeable as well. I was perfectly happy with what Chris accomplished, it was better than expected.

Did a good lob on clean up and mulching and delivered for price quoted. I will likely have him back soon to loom and seed a part of my yard where an above ground pool used to sit. Dependable and timely work

When we met with him on April 30th, we told him that if we could not have the work completed by June 20th, we were not sure that we be interested in completing the work this year. He assured us that the time frame was reasonable, but then in mid-May, he told us that he had clients since November that were still waiting to have work completed and that he had "relationships that were 20 years old" that he needed to do work for. He pushed back every meeting that we had with him (including our initial meeting) and was unable to meet any deadline that he set FOR HIMSELF. By the time we decided not to use him at the end of May, he was still unable to give us a time frame that he had would be able to do the work. He did keep in touch with us periodically during the entire time frame, but each touch point was only to push us back further. In the end, we feel that although he was a nice person and his plan looked good, he lacked the professionalism to schedule our job or indicate that he would be unable to complete it in a reasonable time frame and whether or not he believes he did it, mislead us in regards to his other commitments.

This was our second experience with Chris and it went very well. He did the work exactly as promised in a timely and considerate manner. The new bed looks great.

Chris was overly communicative (a good thing) starting with quotes, timing they would start the job all the way through when he would pick up payment, etc. The team worked for 1.5 days and did a very nice, clean job removing all rotting wood, debris from the property and generally cleaning up the plot.

Chris has good ideas and listens to the client. He works hard until the client is satisfied. He and his team are hardworking, professional, and polite.
