+ -1 moreI checked them out beforehand and they had a beautiful showroom and their price was unbeatable. There were a couple of issues with the doors opening when they weren't supposed to but they came back and fixed everything right away. It was a large job and they handled it well. The sales people were very knowledgeable and I really like that. It's a family owned business and they make sure to be honest and they do excellent work. Their website is also great.
Description of Work: They installed two new garage doors and disposed of the other two old garage doors. They also replaced some of the old rotted wood with pressure treated wood around the door. The hooked up the door to the electricity themselves. They also installed a keypad on the side of the garage to open the door and gave us two remotes for the doors.

+ -1 moreDoor Systems made two visits, one to provide an estimate, one to install a new garage door opener. For both visits, the representative was on time, and even called ahead. The installation was done neatly, on time, and as promised. The new opener is significantly quieter, as promised. The only problem, a very slight problem, was that although I had requested and paid for two remotes, only one was delivered. But the additional remote was mailed and in my hands two days later.
Description of Work: Estimate for and replacement of garage door opener. Chain-drive opener replaced with belt-drive opener.

+ -1 moreEveryone we dealt with at Door Systems, from start to finish was professional and very nice. We got a competitive and thorough estimate. The doors were installed with zero disruption to our day. The old doors were disposed of and there was absolutely no mess left behind, spotless. One of the panes of glass shifted and broke shortly thereafter and Door Systems fixed it promptly, no questions asked. Highly recommend.

I had contracted for this about a year ago and never got around to having them back until recently so the estimate they had given me was a little below what I had to pay, but I thought it was a very good price. Hank gave me advice on the different choices I could have and was very respectful of my wishes.
Description of Work: They replaced my single garage door with a new steel insulated garage door and opener. The opener has a quick turn bracket for a low garage.

+ -1 moreThe folks from Door Systems Incorporated were prompt in both returning my phone call and in getting all the work done. They were pleasant and cooperative while they were at the house and also did a fantastic job of cleaning up as they went about their business. The doors they put in were exactly what we wanted and I would certainly recommend them to others. I do not recall the total price as we paid them in several payments but they were very reasonable.
Description of Work: They installed an steel exterior front door, a wooden back exterior door and an eight foot glass slider door with a screen to our house.

+ -1 moreI spoke with a representative over the phone about what I needed for a garage door opener, as well as the current condition of my garage door. The springs and rollers were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. I also needed and opener, keypad entry, and emergency power shut off lock box; the garage door is the only way in and out of the building. Their quotes for the prices of openers were right around what I found at my local hardware store, so I didn't suspect a large markup. Once we determined all this we set up an installation date within the week. Because my garage is detached, they insisted it would not be necessary for anyone to be at home. I left the manual garage door unlocked that morning and went to work. When I returned that evening, the installation was complete and the paperwork was left for me neatly in the middle of the floor, I couldn't have missed it. They left the garage spotless too!

+ -1 moreThey came to demo in December & when attempting to anchor the bolts to the concrete block, the blocks all split (old/badly built garage structure & the original masonry) Paul the installer let me know right away & Ian and I canceled the door install for the next day while I got my act together with redoing the masonry. Long story short, it took a great deal of time scheduling the mason & by the time the concrete structure frame was redone, it was May. I called back DSI to reschedule & they came back & needed to make some additional adjustments because of the building was not even/square. Needless to say, the doors look phenomenal as does the molding/install. This was an extremely difficult install (at best) & DSI were never any less than completely professional. By the way, they're very competitive w/their pricing. I received quotes (not including framing!) for $1-3K more than DSI. Thanks for the great work DSI!
Description of Work: Back in November, DSI (Hank) provided me with a quote to remove two old, rusty garage doors & tracking & replace them w/new tracks, PT wood frame with composite finish & two new raised panel automatic doors with remotes.

+ -1 moreI really can't recall the whole process of what they did to fix the motor on my garage door but now it works. It didn't take him long at all maybe about an hour or so to do the work. He did give my some type of lubricant for the motor so it wouldn't rust or lock up anytime soon. I haven't had any problems yet so I am pleased.
Description of Work: They fixed the motor on my electric garage door opener as it was not opening and shutting like it should.

+ -1 moreHe did not test the wireless keyless entry, and it would not respond when I tried it a couple of times, after he left. Then my son came home, and he got it to respond. The representative was nice enough. When I called to complain to the company, they said that they are a family owned business, and that they didn't understand what happened, as this representative is never like that. Well I responded that obviously he was having an off day, and they responded that of course should not matter, and that she would have the representative call and apologize to me. It's been two days and no call. I had not received the bill yet, but was told during my call that the price would be adjusted.
Description of Work: Door light was coming on and could hear it humming, could not get it to go up and down from wall switch nor from garage door opener. Service tech came out within 2 days, he hit the wall switch, moved a latter that I had out, into position and starting banging away with his hammer on the cover for the chain. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that he needed to free the bolt that the cover was stuck to. After a few more strikes of the hammer, he decided that he should probably remove the light bulb cover, which was within striking distance of his hammer. He fiddled with the cover, pulled on it, because it wasn't releasing and broke off a side of the cover which holds one of the corners in place. Then a couple of more strikes, and he hit the bulb, so now it's obvious that the bulb won't work anymore. He frees the bolt, readjusts the chain, lubs the runner, wheels etc., hands me the can of lubricant and says I can keep it, then asks for a new bulb.

+ -1 moreJob 1: Called Door Systems and reported the problem. Appointment was made right away. Service personnel called to say an approximate time of arrival. He was on time and repaired the problem within a few minutes. He answered a few questions that I had and made some recommendations. Overall very professional and a very pleasant service call. Job 2: Very easy, one call, installer showed up promptly on appointment date and installed the door opener. One of the best products I have ever purchased. Should have had Door Systems install the opener when they installed the new garage doors several months ago.
Description of Work: Job 1: One of my new garage door's cylinder locks was very loose. Not something you would expect from a product only 1 week old. ($0) Job 2: Installed electric garage door opener. ($350)

+ -1 moreThey were very quick to schedule an appointment for the free estimate. Showed up when they said. The installer was very professional and took pride in his work. He swept my garage when he was done. He showed me how everything worked and how to change the code on the outside remote opener. The new door and opener is whisper quiet compared to what I had before. The door seals and insulates well, which was important given that my garage shares two walls with my living space. My home is warmer now thanks to the insulated door and my heating costs should be somewhat lower.
Description of Work: Replaced existing, poor quality wood garage door and opener with a new Garaga insulated door with new door opener. They also replaced the runners.

+ -1 more1. Unit fixed, however company left without telling us how to re-program codes. Had to go to web, not difficult, but would expect them to walk us through the process. 2. They scheduled & missed first appointment, technician that showed up at second appointed time immediately saw the piece was not the same as the rest of the door (strange since they came to the house originally to see it) but installed it saying it could be used while they get the correct panel. They called to say they don't have the exact panel but could ''fix'' another one to look like the others. Several days later called to say they couldn't fix the other one. Choice was to have an unmatched panel or a new door. We went with the unmatched panel. Should point out that another company came at the beginning to give an estimate and immediately noted that the style was no longer made & would need a new door which of course would not match the door on the other side.
Description of Work: 1. Power opening unit no longer worked (lightning hit); 2. Bottom panel on one door loose, needed to be replaced.

Shortly after installation, I found that the wall switch inside the garage was inoperative. They came out to fix it promptly, but I was surprised that the problem was not noticed at the end of the installation. Overall, however, my experience was good.
Description of Work: Removed and disposed of existing heavy wood door and opener. Reframed existing opening and installed new Garaga steel door with Lift-Master electric opener and remote controls.

+ -1 moreI opened my electric garage door and entered my basement. I heard a loud noise and the garage door stopped. I looked into the garage and noticed a cable hanging and a spring on the floor. Lucky for me, I wasn't in the garage at that instant. I called Door Systems in Framingham for service. The mechanic from the company should me that the old springs weren't properly installed. The mechanic installed two new springs with safety cables, changed a couple of pulleys, lubed all moving parts and adjusted the door. It works great!
Description of Work: One of my garage door springs snapped during the door closing. There was a little damage to the ceiling. Thank goodness, no one was hurt. Door systems sent a mechanic who replaced both springs. Checked all pulleys and lubed all required moving parts.
