OMG....Barry is "The Carpet Whisperer." He calls himself an obsessive, compulsive carpet cleaner and his results certainly show that. He made the carpets look brand new despite years of living with multiple cats. He's a really nice guy and his price is very fair for such amazing work. No need to replace carpets.

Excellent. Barry responded quickly to my call and provided an estimate over the phone. He was familiar with the home-style (Campanelli) so knew room sizes, etc. He arrived on-time and completed the work quickly. Bicycle grease stains disappeared and the carpets look great. Barry was also very friendly while focusing on his work. Would hire again and highly recommend.

The owner of the company Barry Lichenstein did all the work by himself. He came when he said he would. He was very professional. He did an excellent job. All the carpets came out clean. He moved the furniture himself and put everything back where he found it. The front hallway carpet was very dirty looking and he made it look like new. I would highly recommend him. He did an outstanding job.

Barry had come highly recommended by a neighbor. Initial phone call was promptly returned and visit was arranged in the next few days. A confirmation call was received the evening before service. Thorough evaluation of furniture pieces was made and at the risk of losing a job Barry expressed concerns that a thorough and aggressive cleaning could, and likely would, ruin the badly soiled microfiber upholstery. Instead asked that he clean other pieces in our living room which he did meticulously over the next 4 hours. Attention to the surrounding carpet, and contact of hoses with walls was addressed with coverings and buffers. Issues met along the way were discussed before proceeding. Concern for pets was expressed as front door would remain ajar. Price was discussed before proceeding. Additional $120 protective sealant for 3 pieces optional. The most thorough and professional upholstery cleaning experience I have had. A+

Barry did an amazing job! He is knowledgable, friendly, and thorough. My dirty carpet looked a million times better and I am so thankful that I found Barry through Angie's List. We have used him several times and he does a great job.

Mr. Lichtenstein arrived as scheduled and proceeded to inspect the carpet. The entire carpet was vacuumed and detergent applied, as required. After waiting the prescribed amount of time for the detergent to work, the cleaning and rinsing equipment (water supply and vacuum equipment) was unloaded and used to thoroughly clean the carpet. (Compact fluorescent lamps were plugged into the wall receptacles in order to monitor the work as it progressed.) The water stains were gone. Mr. Lichtenstein has over 30 years of experience as a carpet cleaner. He performed his service in a friendly and professional manner, and I would not hesitate to recommend his company.

Amcho did a terrific job. He came the day after we called. I was moving into an office suite and the carpets were a mess, including spills (coffee and what looked like wax) and heavy usage. When he was done the carpets looked almost new. I will definitely use him again.

We had to reschedule twice due to snow but he did eventually come when it was snowing rather than reschedule again. He prefers not do certain types of rugs but I convinced him to do ours because they are not expensive. He did a very thorough job, vacuming the whole house first and moving all small furniture. He even cleaned behind our bed which hasn't been clean in 10 years. He was able to get rid of some stains that a prior cleaner had not been able to get out. Overall very happy and will use again.

He showed up on time and got straight to work. He was extremely thorough, and took his time to make sure everything was done correctly. I’ve used them before. I would have been more comfortable with someone new who just cleans the carpet but he is here and I was able to get hold of him. He was able to schedule around mine. My schedule was just fine. I don’t even know if it is a little more money. He is extremely techie and very thorough. He does a really thorough job. It isn’t just a quick in and out thing. He’s not cheap but if you really need a great job on something, he’s the guy.

Barry was terrific. He was there precisely on time, and then took over on his own moving furniture that needed moving, putting things up on foam pads, and then taking on the cleaning of some carpets that were pretty badly soiled and stained from the dog we used to have (R.I.P.). He did an excellent job. The carpets look a hundred times better than before. And for the one area that was impossible to improve (because it had some bleach spots on it), he recommended a repair by another fellow -- James Hesnan -- who turned out to be an absolute magician. We're very pleased with the work by both of these guys, and recommend them very highly.

Barry showed up 10 minutes early, and jumped right in to help us take the electrical lines off the carpets. He slid ALL furniture around as he vacuumed all rugs. Then he soaped the rugs, then hand brushed the soap everywhere, then machine steam cleaned, then scotch guarded, brushed again, and moved all the furniture back to where it was when we arrived. The difference between Barry and the $99 for 3 rooms carpet-cleaning companies is Barry does each step individually. The others do ALL these steps in one step with one machine. Barry spent 4 1/2 hours on all our rugs. His price included the stairs. Other companies have additional fees for the stairs, scotch guarding and all the feet of carpet not included in the $99 deal. Some charge to move all the furniture around, and some companies won't move the heavier furniture. Barry has owned his own business for decades does all the jobs himself and expects 110% from himself. To us he is worth every penny. This is the 2nd year we’ve had him come to clean our carpeting, and we will continue to use his service yearly. just leave a glass of water on the kitchen counter, and he's off to his 110% work.

Barry did a great job cleaning the white carpet throughout our home. He's very personable, an excellent communicator, was very easy to contact, and always showed up exactly on time. He handled cleaning our entire house in one day, elevated our furniture, and was able to clean all the trouble spots that have eluded us for years. Yay! After the carpets dried, a couple issues popped up that weren't initially visible. We gave Barry call and he promptly came over to investigate and scheduled a follow-up cleaning of those areas. Awesome. We're happy with the result and would recommend Barry to our friends and family.

What can I say - he cleaned our carpets at the office at a good price. Fairly heavily soiled in high traffic areas, but got them reasonably clean. Spot treated where needed and moved a few tables around in order to get access to everything. Was a little late in getting there but it was towards the end of the day and he was coming from a distance. Would use him again.

My husband spilled an entire glass of red wine on our light blue family room carpet. Barry responded quickly to my frantic phone call and came to the rescue as soon as he could schedule it. Not only did Barry remove the entire red wine stain, but he made the whole carpet look brand new. We saved thousands of dollars by not having to replace the carpet. My husband calls Barry the rug whisperer, but I call him a miracle worker!

Barry was prompt in responding to my phone call. He came when scheduled and explained exactly what he was going to do. He masterfully handled isolating my dog so that he wouldn't get on the wet carpet. Our carpet looked great!

came all the way to west roxbury to give estimate. called day before to confirm appt. came on time and cleaned all rugs.. vacumn, wash by hand esp. on each step. put protectormoved furniture to clean underneath. put plastic sheet under each foot of furniture so less indentation onto carpet. vacumned after dry.

I assumed they were too difficult to get clean, but Amcho did a phenomenal job. I have used different carpet cleaners in the past and no one is as thorough as Barry Lichtenstein is. He moves furniture and cleans every area- not just the easy to reach ones. He protected items he moved and placed protectors under the furniture when he put pieces back. There was no odor from the cleaning chemicals at all. He is very professional. He arrived when he said he would. He cleaned up when he was finished so there was nothing for me to put back or wipe up after. The carpets( one that I thought I would have to remove and replace) were given a second life! Amcho prices are a little higher than some other companies, but when you consider the possibility of having to replace carpeting versus paying to get it clean, you end up saving money! Excellent and professional.
