Tom, you and the guys were a pleasure to work with on our granite steps and patio project. Our first contact was an almost immediate return of my call even though you were on vacation. And by the end of your initial visit my wife and I agreed that you were the one. As the design evolved and arrived with a meticulously detailed proposal, our initial instincts were confirmed and we immediately accepted the proposal. The project itself took a week start to finish, and it was fascinating to watch Tom and the guys do there thing. I made the comment more than once, "You've done this before!" so obvious was their mastery of the craft. The end result looks amazing and we're looking forward to using our new outdoor space. We've already signed up for a second project with Tom to replace our front walkway the same pavers used for the patio and know that we'll be in good hands once again.

The crew did a great job. They were on time, hard working and professional. They have a great eye for detail and were absolutely meticulous.

My wife and I could not be more satisfied with the granite steps and walkway that Natural Path Landscaping installed to our front entry. From the initial contact through to follow up visits to ensure satisfaction, Tom Kraus was the ultimate professional who demonstrates experience and pride in workmanship. Our initial meeting was to review the landscape and discuss our thoughts about what we were looking for. Then Tom drew up some very well thought-out professional, engineer-like plans of the stairs and walkway. He came back for measurements and brought stone samples and then sent us to his supplier to look at other stone options; the supplier was very inviting and spent ample time with us showing us options, as well. When actual work was taking place, the workmen were always on time, very professional, neat, polite, and cleaned up the worksite every evening before they left. They started on the day they said they were going to start and finished on the day they said they were going to finish. And, the workmanship was fantastic. My neighbors were coming over to admire the work immediately and inquire. Everyone who visits comments on how beautiful the workmanship is. We would not hesitate to hire Tom and Natural Path Landscaping for any other projects we need done in our yard and we would recommend him without hesitation to anyone and everyone in need of stairway and walkway work.

Tom was very responsive and detail-oriented. We worked closely with him from design to installation. He is meticulous with measurements. Our backyard space for patio had some difficult aspects and he reworked the design to our mutual satisfaction. His crew was amazingly talented and professional with installation, and finished in the estimated number of days. Tom also worked on installation himself and hand-placed stones around our newly installed granite steps to make them blend with other, older stones we have. They look great. He even spread some leftover gravel in our extra homemade “parking space” next to our driveway, which was running a bit bare. The patio, walkway, and steps are beautiful and will last.

We are extremely pleased with the work that Tom and his team did to build out our stone patio and firepit. We hired Tom and his team right after he provided us their quote. Tom was always incredibly responsive when we wanted to ask questions (which was absolutely not the case with his competitors). From patio design through material selection, Tom was there for us the whole way. You can definitely tell that Tom and his team truly enjoy what they do, and they take the time to ensure that a job is done right. Once it came time to start the work, Tom and his team did a fantastic job with the patio. Even working weekends and sometimes late to deliver it to us in a timely manner. They even went above and beyond and helped patch some holes we had in our lawn with some of the leftover dirt from the excavation (and including seeding it for grass!). I would highly recommend Tom and his team for any patio/walkway/etc job that you need. And I look forward to working with them again for any future jobs at my house.

We hired Natural Path because of the great Angie's List ratings and we were not disappointed. Tom Kraus was very helpful in planning our new walkway and front steps. He provided samples of different colors and textures for the paving stones when he arrived to assess the project. Within two days he produced a design and provided an estimate, along with an approximate time frame to start the work. He was very knowledgeable and responsive, very focused on making sure we got what we wanted. The removal and installation, performed by Tom and two co-workers, was done very competently and efficiently. A permeable subsurface of crushed stone was installed underneath the pavers to allow for drainage. The area around the walkway was completed with new soil and grass seed. Afterwards, they cleaned the area thoroughly. The project was completed in about two days time. We have received several compliments from our neighbors about our new front walkway. Overall an excellent experience for us, and we would recommend Natural Path Landscaping.

Tom, the owner and the his crew did an amazing job. Tom suggested materials and design that fit perfectly with my house. His virtual portfolio was a big help in envisioning what the end product would look like for my application. While his price was higher than others, I could tell by talking with him and by looking at his past work/portfolio that he was the right person for the job. Tom of Natural Path was great to work with. He is quite communicative, making sure to follow up with every step of the process. Best of all, he is extremely bright - he came up with a clever alternative (making the sidewalk ramp up so we would need fewer granite stairs) that got us a gorgeous sidewalk + stairs for not much more than the original stairs we'd requested. His thinking outside the box made a huge difference in the cost and what we were able to achieve. Then, he and his team followed through with very high quality work. Highly recommended.

Tom and his team were excellent. Tom provided drawings prior to the project to make sure we agreed to the plan and provided excellent suggestions for design ideas. The team was punctual and very professional leaving the project clean each day when they left. The job went very quick and came out just as we had expected. We have already hired them for the next job!

Tom is meticulous with his design plans and construction, creating detailed plans that worked perfectly to fit our existing space. Tom and his crew did an amazing job removing my dilapidated deck and installing a new stone patio. Tom is meticulous to the last detail and cares greatly about the quality of his work. Tom and company did an amazing job with the removal of our old deck and installed an outstanding patio. With our uneven backyard, Tom was able to design a create solution and he and his team executed it to perfection. We were away while the project was getting done but Tom was sure to send us pictures each day to show us the progress. Once we returned, we were in awe by the finished product. I would highly recommend Tom based on this work and would definitely hire him again.

Tom was truly great to work with. Even though ours was a smaller job than some of the others you see on his site, he talked us through different ideas on the job, different materials we could use, the process, and answered all our questions. He was great with follow up, calling us to set up times, keeping us up to date on materials, etc. The days of the installation, his crew was great. The installers worked non-stop all day, and worked very hard. They were very friendly and Tom often came by to make sure we were happy with the installation. It was a really good experience and came out really nice.

Thomas and his team were amazing. From initial design to final clean-up, I was thoroughly impressed with his team's professionalism, punctuality, and responsive. While I had an initial design in mind, Tom was able to take my suggestions and improve on them with a beautiful and unique design. I chose to use natural cleft full color bluestone and couldn't be happier. Tom actually went to the stone yard and hand selected the stones. From there, the project progressed on time and on budget with only one small change order -- the addition of top soil to cover the excavated material. The change was disclosed immediately and accommodated without too much trouble. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of the final patio. Natural bluestone varies quite a bit in dimension and color, but his team was able to accommodate this and the end product is stunning. Clean-up went well and, as they were leaving, I requested a bid on my next project. I'm looking forward to working with them again.

I was very impressed by their professionalism, the quality of the design and the work, and the amount of communication. The new permeable patio is beautiful and very well done. The granite steps should outlast my house. The yard was cleaned up well and all disturbed areas were re-seeded or covered with new soil. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience and the result.

Tom Kraus and Natural Path Landscaping performed the work with the highest level of professionalism and with a focus on satisfying the customer.  From the development of the detail plans through execution of the project all decisions were made jointly and we had NO surprises along the way.


The old stoops and brick materials for the walkway were removed and a fresh base was installed.  Concrete pads beneath the stoops and compacted gravel and stone dust formed the foundation of the walkways.  The pavers were installed with a concrete edging designed to prevent any slippage or erosion of the base.  The old stone steps were cut out and fresh granite steps were installed in the retaining wall.  The second tier retaining wall was added to prevent erosion of the planting beds in front of the house.

All project debris was removed and the property was treated with respect throughout the project life cycle.  Also, Tom was kind enough to remove some non project related debris, which was very helpful. 

Throughout the project when either Tom or his staff were asked questions, they took the time to answer the question and provide the reasoning for performing the work according to the methods they were using.  They kept us informed regarding schedules and when they would be working and they showed up promptly when they said they would be there.

This was the most well managed project that I have had done and we have owned, improved and maintained this house for over 30 years.  I have no hesitation in recommending Natural Path Landscaping to other homeowners!    

Tom was quick to respond to my inquiry for an estimate on some landscape lighting we were looking to add to the front of our house. When he came out to meet with us, he was on-time, professional and provided an estimate in the time that he said he would. We felt very confident in his services and chose him for the project. He did a wonderful job on the lighting and despite a good amount of digging that he had to do, left our yard clean and everything in it's place. When we asked him for a few adjustments afterwards, he came right back out and completed the work quickly for us. Our experience was extremely positive and I would highly recommend Tom for your landscaping needs.

Tom was very responsive when I called and was easy to work with to schedule an appointment. When he viewed the property he asked many questions to see what I wanted, viewed and measured the area and gave some ideas as well as suggested materials to be used. Within 2 days he provided me with a detail plan for the landscape update as well as a quote. The contract Tom provided was extremely detailed and precise as to what he would be doing. The retaining wall and the landscape behind it is amazing and truly changed the look of the landscaping! The crew also made some other minor landscaping updates that was not part of the contract but it truly enhanced the look of the yard. In the area they excavated, they took large rocks (instead of removing them) and built a natural stone wall around the border of the property, I am so glad they did this! Tom and his team were all very professional and easy to work with. I will definitely hire Tom and his team again for future landscaping projects.

Awesome work, we love the new patio and front walk.  We worked with Tom and his crew to design the new patio and front walk.  He was meticulous in his preparation and design work.  We paid him up front for the design services which we were able to iterate a few times to get it just right.  We worked with him on installing conduit for the sprinkler systems.  He used mats in the yard to insure his equipment did not rip anything up.  The area was cleaned up every day neat and tidy.  The project was completed on time and within budget.  We worked with them on installing some lighting as well as an add on which turned out to be very nice.  I would use him again.   

It went great! I would recommend, and work with again, Tom Krauss and his team. Tom was extremely responsive, organized, thoughtful, professional and honest. The whole process was easy from the first call to installation. His team was very nice, respectful and kept the workspace clean. Our new walkway is flawless.

Tom and his team provided the best contracting experience we have ever had. Communication, from initial contact through job completion, was timely; there were no surprises at the end of the project.  We especially appreciated getting detailed drawings before work began.  The use of a detailed contract made it clear what each party's responsibilities were.

Once work began, the team was here each day (Monday through Saturday) at 7:00AM and worked until 5:00PM or sometimes later. The quality of the work was outstanding; attention to detail was exceptional.  In some instances the team made suggestions for small tasks they could do that would make our yard better.  Justin and Matt cleaned up the work area every day before leaving.  Due to their efficient work habits the 3 week job was finished 3 days ahead of schedule.

We would recommend Tom and his crew without reservation.

Overall the project went well despite some problems with the cutting of the stone by the granite supplier and cracking of the front sidewalk by the concrete delivery truck. 
Tom Krause was exceptionally detailed and professional in his up-front design drawings and contract and he was responsive to all design requests and concerns.  He was extremely accommodating in our search for and selection of specialty granite. His engineering background and exceptional expertise was evident in both his design and in his execution of the installation.
I feel that I got a superior foundation and finished masonry from Tom.  The finished product looks terrific.

Tom and Justin at natural path landscaping did exactly what they said they would do, on the exact dates they said they would do it, at the price and per the terms they thoroughly described in writing up front. Each tweak to the project along the way was discussed as if we were part of their team. Zero surprises, miscommunications or disappointments. The project hit a hurdle navigating town regulations, but this was on me, and throughout the delays, Tom was flexible and constructive, even showing up to town committee meetings well prepared with multiple updates to his design work until we found a solution that worked for me and the town. All of this extra effort was outside what I described up front, yet their commitment to getting it done to my satisfaction never wavered. They managed the scheduling and never compromised the work product. The project involved a new patio including a couple walkways, lighting and railing and several sets of granite steps, and the design work to turn a tight space into a great outdoor area. Final product is high quality and I am very happy that I picked natural path landscaping for this job. Highly recommend them as the best experience I've had hiring anybody in any area.

The work began meeting with Tom and discussing options. One of the best things about how Tom works is that he creates a plan with you. Seeing our ideas on paper really helped us iterate and settle on the final design. He worked with us through various scenarios and always provided suggestions and feedback on our ideas. This was very important to us.

The contract was detailed and on-point. There were no surprises during the project. Tom had advised us before we signed the contract on a couple of potential variables. He kept us up to date the entire time. His team was professional and friendly. The job site was always left neat. When Tom and team said they were going to be here, they were. Tom and his team are true to their word.

Our project completed last May and since Tom has stopped by a couple of times to check that all is still working well for us. This statement should tell you what level of professional you find in Tom. I don't know many individuals that come back to a job just to check in. Natural Path does an amazing job and stands by their work.

We are excited to engage in another project with Tom and team. Looking forward to redoing our front walkway and steps next spring!
