Tom, the owner and the his crew did an amazing job. Tom suggested materials and design that fit perfectly with my house. His virtual portfolio was a big help in envisioning what the end product would look like for my application. While his price was higher than others, I could tell by talking with him and by looking at his past work/portfolio that he was the right person for the job. Tom and his team were excellent. Tom provided drawings prior to the project to make sure we agreed to the plan and provided excellent suggestions for design ideas. The team was punctual and very professional leaving the project clean each day when they left. The job went very quick and came out just as we had expected. Tom and company did an amazing job with the removal of our old deck and installed an outstanding patio. With our uneven backyard, Tom was able to design a create solution and he and his team executed it to perfection. We were away while the project was getting done but Tom was sure to send us pictures each day to show us the progress. Once we returned, we were in awe by the finished product. I would highly recommend Tom based on this work and would definitely hire him again.

Tom was truly great to work with. Even though ours was a smaller job than some of the others you see on his site, he talked us through different ideas on the job, different materials we could use, the process, and answered all our questions. He was great with follow up, calling us to set up times, keeping us up to date on materials, etc. The days of the installation, his crew was great. The installers worked non-stop all day, and worked very hard. They were very friendly and Tom often came by to make sure we were happy with the installation. It was a really good experience and came out really nice.

Thomas and his team were amazing. From initial design to final clean-up, I was thoroughly impressed with his team's professionalism, punctuality, and responsive. While I had an initial design in mind, Tom was able to take my suggestions and improve on them with a beautiful and unique design. I chose to use natural cleft full color bluestone and couldn't be happier. Tom actually went to the stone yard and hand selected the stones. From there, the project progressed on time and on budget with only one small change order -- the addition of top soil to cover the excavated material. The change was disclosed immediately and accommodated without too much trouble. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of the final patio. Natural bluestone varies quite a bit in dimension and color, but his team was able to accommodate this and the end product is stunning. Clean-up went well and, as they were leaving, I requested a bid on my next project. I'm looking forward to working with them again.

I was very impressed by their professionalism, the quality of the design and the work, and the amount of communication. The new permeable patio is beautiful and very well done. The granite steps should outlast my house. The yard was cleaned up well and all disturbed areas were re-seeded or covered with new soil. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience and the result.

Tom Kraus and Natural Path Landscaping performed the work with the highest level of professionalism and with a focus on satisfying the customer. From the development of the detail plans through execution of the project all decisions were made jointly and we had NO surprises along the way. The old stoops and brick materials for the walkway were removed and a fresh base was installed. Concrete pads beneath the stoops and compacted gravel and stone dust formed the foundation of the walkways. The pavers were installed with a concrete edging designed to prevent any slippage or erosion of the base. The old stone steps were cut out and fresh granite steps were installed in the retaining wall. The second tier retaining wall was added to prevent erosion of the planting beds in front of the house. All project debris was removed and the property was treated with respect throughout the project life cycle. Also, Tom was kind enough to remove some non project related debris, which was very helpful. Throughout the project when either Tom or his staff were asked questions, they took the time to answer the question and provide the reasoning for performing the work according to the methods they were using. They kept us informed regarding schedules and when they would be working and they showed up promptly when they said they would be there. This was the most well managed project that I have had done and we have owned, improved and maintained this house for over 30 years. I have no hesitation in recommending Natural Path Landscaping to other homeowners!

Tom was quick to respond to my inquiry for an estimate on some landscape lighting we were looking to add to the front of our house. When he came out to meet with us, he was on-time, professional and provided an estimate in the time that he said he would. We felt very confident in his services and chose him for the project. He did a wonderful job on the lighting and despite a good amount of digging that he had to do, left our yard clean and everything in it's place. When we asked him for a few adjustments afterwards, he came right back out and completed the work quickly for us. Our experience was extremely positive and I would highly recommend Tom for your landscaping needs.

Tom was very responsive when I called and was easy to work with to schedule an appointment. When he viewed the property he asked many questions to see what I wanted, viewed and measured the area and gave some ideas as well as suggested materials to be used. Within 2 days he provided me with a detail plan for the landscape update as well as a quote. The contract Tom provided was extremely detailed and precise as to what he would be doing. The retaining wall and the landscape behind it is amazing and truly changed the look of the landscaping! The crew also made some other minor landscaping updates that was not part of the contract but it truly enhanced the look of the yard. In the area they excavated, they took large rocks (instead of removing them) and built a natural stone wall around the border of the property, I am so glad they did this! Tom and his team were all very professional and easy to work with. I will definitely hire Tom and his team again for future landscaping projects.

Awesome work, we love the new patio and front walk. We worked with Tom and his crew to design the new patio and front walk. He was meticulous in his preparation and design work. We paid him up front for the design services which we were able to iterate a few times to get it just right. We worked with him on installing conduit for the sprinkler systems. He used mats in the yard to insure his equipment did not rip anything up. The area was cleaned up every day neat and tidy. The project was completed on time and within budget. We worked with them on installing some lighting as well as an add on which turned out to be very nice. I would use him again.

Tom and his team provided the best contracting experience we have ever had. Communication, from initial contact through job completion, was timely; there were no surprises at the end of the project. We especially appreciated getting detailed drawings before work began. The use of a detailed contract made it clear what each party's responsibilities were. Once work began, the team was here each day (Monday through Saturday) at 7:00AM and worked until 5:00PM or sometimes later. The quality of the work was outstanding; attention to detail was exceptional. In some instances the team made suggestions for small tasks they could do that would make our yard better. Justin and Matt cleaned up the work area every day before leaving. Due to their efficient work habits the 3 week job was finished 3 days ahead of schedule. We would recommend Tom and his crew without reservation.

Overall the project went well despite some problems with the cutting of the stone by the granite supplier and cracking of the front sidewalk by the concrete delivery truck. Tom Krause was exceptionally detailed and professional in his up-front design drawings and contract and he was responsive to all design requests and concerns. He was extremely accommodating in our search for and selection of specialty granite. His engineering background and exceptional expertise was evident in both his design and in his execution of the installation. I feel that I got a superior foundation and finished masonry from Tom. The finished product looks terrific. Tom's price was fair in view of the effort involved and build quality

Tom and Justin at natural path landscaping did exactly what they said they would do, on the exact dates they said they would do it, at the price and per the terms they thoroughly described in writing up front. Each tweak to the project along the way was discussed as if we were part of their team. Zero surprises, miscommunications or disappointments. The project hit a hurdle navigating town regulations, but this was on me, and throughout the delays, Tom was flexible and constructive, even showing up to town committee meetings well prepared with multiple updates to his design work until we found a solution that worked for me and the town. All of this extra effort was outside what I described up front, yet their commitment to getting it done to my satisfaction never wavered. They managed the scheduling and never compromised the work product. The project involved a new patio including a couple walkways, lighting and railing and several sets of granite steps, and the design work to turn a tight space into a great outdoor area. Final product is high quality and I am very happy that I picked natural path landscaping for this job. Highly recommend them as the best experience I've had hiring anybody in any area.

The work began meeting with Tom and discussing options. One of the best things about how Tom works is that he creates a plan with you. Seeing our ideas on paper really helped us iterate and settle on the final design. He worked with us through various scenarios and always provided suggestions and feedback on our ideas. This was very important to us. The contract was detailed and on-point. There were no surprises during the project. Tom had advised us before we signed the contract on a couple of potential variables. He kept us up to date the entire time. His team was professional and friendly. The job site was always left neat. When Tom and team said they were going to be here, they were. Tom and his team are true to their word. Our project completed last May and since Tom has stopped by a couple of times to check that all is still working well for us. This statement should tell you what level of professional you find in Tom. I don't know many individuals that come back to a job just to check in. I was extremely pleased with the service provide by Natural Path Landscaping. During our first meeting I was looking to replace a deck that had been torn down with a new patio. Upon seeing my backyard Tom suggested moving the patio to a different area further away from the house in a more open area, and then to build a path connecting our rear door to the patio. That was the first of many great suggestions Natural Path made to improve on the final project. Other suggestions that I never would have thought of included building drainage underground from my gutter downspouts to a bed of crushed stone, providing better drainage away from my house, building a wall around the patio that could be used for seating, and adding lighting to the wall that provides a beautiful alternative to the flood lighting that we had before. Natural Path provided a detailed diagram of what was being proposed for our patio and walkway. Once we decided to proceed, a contract was drawn up detailing the work to be performed and payment terms. It was estimated that the project would require two weeks to complete. Once the project commenced, work began promptly at 7am every morning throughout the duration, and the project was completed within the two week estimate. The project team members were professional and very hard-working. The final results exceeded our expectations. The design of the patio and walkway included subtle curves that provide a natural flow and look great. The colors selected for the wall and the pavers for the walkway and the border complement each other well. I was overwhelmed by the choices, so I asked Natural Path to make a recommendation and I'm pleased with the results.

The project went great. We are very happy with the finished results. Tom is very detailed and thorough with all his work. His contract details all aspects of the job. He does exactly what he says he will do. I did quite a bit of research for months preparing for the project speaking with numerous contractors. Some had different methods of doing pool copings and setting pavers. Tom did it right as a few others said it should be done, setting forms and pouring concrete around the pool to set the coping. The end results came out beautiful, we have received hundreds of compliments and people asking who did the work. We will enjoy our back yard and pool for many years to come. Mr. Kraus responded immediately to my request for an estimate for this project. On the first visit he spent some time discussing the scope of the project options for materials to use in the walkway and steps, and a timeline for the project. He then took time to take measurements to develop a proposal and budget. Once we decided to have him complete the project, he mailed a contract for us to sign. The contract for the project was clear and concise. It contained a payment schedule with a deviation of +/- 10%depending on unforeseen issues. I liked knowing if there would be cost over runs, then it could be no more than 10% of the budgeted cost. Our project was completed within the timeframe Mr. Kraus offered. His crew were polite, professional and cleaned the work area at the end of the day. The walkway and granite pad at the front door change the character of our home giving it some real curb appeal. I had Mr. Kraus recommend the colors we used for the pavers and granite and they both really compliment the red brick chimney the dark roof shingles and the hunter green shutters. One downspout to the left of the front door drained right beside the steps. He took the time to bury the downspout and bring it out onto the lawn away from the steps and the foundation. I am very happy with the quality of service from this business and I would not hesitate to use them again for another project.

We spoke with and received multiple quotes and designs from several highly rated contractors, and it became clear after meeting with Tom that he was the best choice for us. We felt that his design best matched what we were looking for in an outdoor space. Plus, he was also the only contractor to design an auto CAD drawing (basically a PDF with measurements) of the patio space. This allowed us to physically measure and visualize his vision for our patio, and to make minor adjustments were we felt necessary. The cost of the drawing went towards the project once we signed the contract. The demolition of the old deck went smoothly and excavation of the dirt was remarkably clean. We fully expected our lawn to be destroyed in the excavation process, based on what we?d seen from other patio installs. Not the case with Tom. Because of the precision and care that Tom took, our lawn had almost fully regrown in three weeks. The main installation of the gravel, sand, and pavers was handled by Justin, who did a wonderful job on the installation. Tom service doesn?t stop after the project is done. About a week after the patio was finished, I noticed several chipped patio stones. Not a big deal, but not something you want in a new patio. I contacted Tom and he came over two days later and replaced the damaged stones. We fully recommend Tom and his crew at Natural Path and plan on using him again for a front entry and walkway soon.

We hired Tom and his company to install a backyard patio and front walkway using Cambridge pavers; install granite steps at our front door, mudroom door, rear porch door, and entrance to our pool; redirect our downspouts to an underground drainage system; and excavate a trench for a gas line to connect a pool heater. We then hired Tom a few weeks later to prepare a large area of the rear yard for a shed, which included the installation of nine concrete sonotubes. We have completed a number of projects at our residences over a 16-year period. Of all the contractors that we?ve hired over the years, Tom and his crew clearly stand out as one of the best. Regarding the patio and walkway work, Tom worked closely with us during the planning stage of the project, which was very important to us. He provided a detailed price estimate that included a complete description of the work and a breakdown of all of the costs. He had creative design ideas, and he gave us several options regarding materials for the patio, walkway and stairs. He also encouraged us to visit his material supplier to help us select the style and color of our pavers. The project started on time and was completed in the estimated time frame. During the course of the project, Tom and his team were professional, respectful, and in daily communication with us regarding progress. The final result could not be better. Tom and his team are genuine craftsmen. We have a beautiful patio and walkway and striking granite steps. Regarding the shed preparation, the work was challenging given the slope of the yard. We also have quite a bit of rock below surface, so digging for the sonotubes was difficult. However, Tom did an excellent job providing a level surface for the new shed. The area looks great, and Tom completed the job on time. We highly recommend Tom and his crew for any landscape job, and we hope to have him back in the future for more outdoor projects at our house.

We are grateful that Tom and his crew were available to work on our project. We received a number of estimates and ideas regarding how to create a walkway that would function well in all weather, and Tom's solution to our drainage issues was both simple and elegant. His price was competitive. He installed two Goshen stone walkways for us that are both functional and beautiful. Tom is a great guy, he does what he says he will do, his prices are very reasonable and his work is truly beautiful. He was willing to work with our aesthetic, even though it meant adjusting the size of the stones he put into the walkways. His crew is professional and super nice. Cannot say enough good things....so glad we found him.

Our home now looks like a temple! We are happy and the neighborhood enjoys walking past our building everyday! Tom and crew are wonderful and easy to work with; gave us a good price; and they were reliable!

So this was a very brief experience, I had reached out to Natural Path Landscaping via Angie's list regarding a granite lamppost (as I didn't know the range of cost) as well as some landscaping work. Tom at Natural Path wrote back very quickly, providing me with a quote based on a photo I had seen on their website, as well as clear expectations for what they did and didn't do as part of the installation. He also let me know that his company didn't typically handle the type of landscaping that I was hoping to have done. While I haven't pursued any work with Tom at Natural Path, I was quite pleased with the responsiveness via email, and if we do decide this spring to go with a granite lamppost, I will certainly be reaching out to him.
