We replaced a large old pressure treated deck with a natural stone patio in addition to a new front walk (pavers). Between the patio and front walk, it included new granite steps at a total of 4 doorways (2 sliders, front door, and another rear entry door). They handled demolition and removal of my previous deck and front steps. We worked mostly with Justin. He’s absolutely great with communication staying in daily constant contact throughout the project. During planning and quoting, he was very honest and transparent about pricing and the breakdown between materials, labor, and time needed. He provided plans, drawings/elevations, and many pictures of similar projects/materials helping us make decisions before project start. He was also great at advice and recommendations, which is great if you were ever unsure about what exactly you want. His small team of workers were true professionals, very courteous, punctual and hardworking. I felt super comfortable with them at my home and with my children. They take pride in their work and I can’t rave enough about their transparency. Justin will tell you from the start that they are not the most expensive, and they are not the cheapest either. But there’s no question that they are one of the best at what they do (specifically at natural stone and paver based patios, walkways, driveways and other hardscape projects). Natural Path handled things that you (or at least myself) would not even think of when installing a new patio, such as drainage, drywells, flashing near steps, garden beds against house, etc... The stuff that you normally wouldn’t or don’t to think of. These things are not afterthoughts to them. They are undeniably great people to work with and would absolutely recommend them for any hardscape needs. I wouldn’t think twice about using them in the future.

Working with Tom to design a front walkway that matches the aesthetics of our historic home was effortless. He had great ideas and understood which material would be a good fit for the home. When it was time to install, Justin and his team proved to be skilled working with the various stone we chose and were efficient at completing the job. When my husband and I decided to redo our patio and walkway we looked up quite a few landscapers and easily decided to go with Natural Path Landscaping. This is the second time we have hired Natural Path Landscaping for masonry work. We initially hired them in 2020 for a massive job of replacing a 80 foot wooden retaining wall, wooden stairs and brick patio with a Techo-Bloc wall, granite stairs and a permeable paver patio. During the planning stage, they provided us with a detailed CAD design drawing and a detailed price estimate which included a complete description of the work. They did a great job on this project… it looks beautiful! We recently hired them again in 2023 to replace our existing front brick walkway and concrete stairs with granite stairs and a curved permeable paver walkway. They also created an underground drainage system that redirects water buildup in the walkway (which was always a past problem) to the house downspout drain. The walkway and stairs look great and there is no more huge puddles at the foot of our stairs thanks to the new drainage system! The crew at Natural Path Landscaping were professional and always in communication with us regarding each project’s progress. They take pride in their work and go out of their way to do a quality job. We highly recommend Natural Path Landscaping for any landscaping job. Justin and his team did a terrific job installing our new walkway. They not only performed well on the main task, but also kept in mind that we had other work coming up with different contractors. They provided us with revised architecture diagrams with details and notes for those later contractors to use, which saved considerable time and hassle. Our 50-year-old front steps and walkway had multiple issues. The precast cement stairs had sunk five inches, plus a couple of steps had begun to crumble and to develop holes. One of the concrete walks had a big crack in it and had also sunk. The stone wall along the driveway was crumbling. The soil was eroding along the foundation due to the steep slope. Tom of Natural Path Landscaping designed a solution that was beautiful and safe. He and his crew were here for twelve days working on our project. They are a hard-working group, very professional, courteous, and always willing to answer any questions. They removed several shrubs, the old concrete landing and steps at the front door, and the old concrete walkway and rock wall. They installed five granite steps and a landing at the front door. They built two retaining walls with granite steps. They installed two walkways with pavers. They re-routed the downspout underneath the stairs. They spread loam on both sides of the walkway. They also installed LED lighting for illuminating the stairs, walkways, and walls. We are very happy with our beautiful, new front entry. We highly recommend Tom and his crew.

Exceeded all expectations! Tom was (highly) recommended to us by our good friends, who had a front walkway and patio done by him. This was a challenging job, especially getting the grading correct to replace a seriously heaved front walk. Plus the time spent removing our existing concrete stairs and replaced with granite. We were extremely happy with the design, punctuality and commitment of all the Natural Path staff, especially Tom and Justin. They worked extremely long hours to make sure the job was done to their exacting specifications. Our home has definitely been given an upgrade. The granite compass that Tom placed near the front stairs is a highlight. We would definitely hire Natural Path again!

Natural Path did an amazing job from start to finish. Tom has great design sense, deep knowledge of the materials and work, and gave excellent advice while working collaboratively on the proposal and plans. On the job, he and his team were highly professional, courteous and helpful. They clearly cared about the long-lasting success of the project and getting the details right. Everything was done on schedule and it came out every bit as good as we hoped.

The project went really well. Tom worked closely with us on the design and planning and they went above and beyond when small changes were needed to the original plan. the quality of work and final result is absolutely exceptional.

The job was to demolish some old brick steps that were falling apart and replace them with 3 enormous single-piece granite slab steps. Tom came out twice before the job to measure, draft, and review with us. He eventually decided that some of our stone walkway needed to be cut back and replaced with stone pavers in order for the granite steps to interface correctly. Tom and his crew spent 3 days onsite, and they were extremely courteous, meticulous, and professional. Our stone walkway turned out to be slightly unlevel at one spot after being cut back, and the crew spent quite a long time getting their pavers to match the existing walkway there without any kind of lip or interface showing at the beginning of the pavers. I'm pretty detail oriented myself and watched almost all of the work, but even I was getting to the point where I wanted to say "That's more than good enough," but the crew persisted and continued to refine until the pavers somehow magically matched the stone walkway's height and angle all the way across. I'm still not sure how they managed to accomplish it, but I do know it took a lot of their time. This was also done without their boss (Tom) being onsite or telling them to work this hard. I'm very impressed at how autonomous his crew is and how well their attitude and workmanship matches Tom's. The granite steps ranged from 1,700 to 3,800 pounds each, so a large crane-truck had to be brought in to lower the steps. Tom personally oversaw the laying of the steps, and there wasn't a single brief moment where the process wasn't going very slowly, meticulously, and under absolute control. Tom is what you'd consider to be a stereotypical good engineer (I've known bad engineers): detail-oriented, precise, over-achieving, measuring, calculating, drafting, careful, and analytical. When I had doubts about the project, I told him in no uncertain terms, and he always listened carefully and respectfully with calmness, even when I was not being level-headed or calm. Despite my attitude at times, he always took what I said to heart and always did his absolute best to accommodate my concerns and made me feel listened to, even when it turned out that my concerns were entirely a nonissue and irrelevant to the job at hand. In all of the houses and projects I've enlisted over the years, I have never encountered an outfit as high quality as Tom and his outstanding crew. Despite the difficulties of working with an old house that has bent and worn in imprecise ways, the stairs came out amazingly well with astounding precision and accuracy, and the entire crew was extremely easy to talk to and work with. 7 stars out of 5.
