Rob and his team were very professional and deeply knowledgeable about the Trex product. Rob was personable, very responsive (emails and calls were returned very quickly) and super detailed. He was also quite passionate about the Trex product and the quality he puts into his job for the customer His team was friendly, payed attention to details and provided great clean up of the site. They always checked in to see if we felt things were looking good and surprised us with some extra freebies (extra lights). Its not that often you run into contractors that are this great to work with and we would highly recommend RP Wilkinson and Rob and his team.

RP Wilkinson Construction did a fantastic job. Rob followed up with me immediately following my inquiry through Angie's list, scheduled time to review job a day or so later, provided me with a thorough design and estimate that evening. I had a couple of estimates and decided to go with Rob's company because he is a structural engineer and he his designs are sturdier and actually provided more deck space because his railings are constructed differently opening up about a foot of space on the new deck. Initially Rob told me he'd put me in his work queue and said he would not be able to get to me for a few weeks, and then contacted me a couple days later to say that he could squeeze me in due to a delay with another job. The crew, dumpster and materials showed up as promised in a very coordinated fashion. The work was completed over a couple of days, each day the crew cleaned up and organized the work space. The final deck is beautiful and very sturdy. One railing seemed bowed to me, it was not obvious, but Rob checked it out and the crew came back and fixed it the next day (they made time even though they started a new job). I love my new deck. I decided to go with Pressure treated wood since I was not ready to invest in Trex at this point in time since I will be moving in the year or so. I would definitely hire RP Wilkinson again, and probably go with Trex materials which is the company's specialty. They guarantee the work, educated me on care and maintenance and what to expect over time. I had a great experience and have complete confidence in recommending this company, they do quality work.

Rob and his crew were fantastic. He spent almost three hours with us going through design and materials options even before he knew he would get our business. He helped me better understand the most efficient use of space and materials so that we got the best bang for the buck. We opted to take a winter build date to save a little money and he actually ended up giving us a late-fall slot for the same price. Rob shepherded all the permits through the town office and provided a clear and concise description of the project scope, materials, timeline, and payment milestones. His crew hit their building milestones spot on even with several rain days in the mix. They also showed up bright and early the Monday after a hurricane! They were always courtesy and respectful of my wife, who works from home.Their work was meticulous and Rob checked all the work himself every couple days. We tacked on one option at the end of the project - full under deck screening. Rob and his team easily accommodated the request. They really went the extra mile framing the screening fully to match the contour of the lawn. It was certainly worth the extra money. On the final day, everything was cleaned up and the dumpster hauled away promptly. More importantly, the deck looked incredible! (See pictures) While Rob's prices are excellent for the high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, the jury's out on whether the integrated Trex lighting is worth the additional cost. I'll wait until next summer to make the final evaluation, but it leans decorative (versus functional) for my tastes. That said, the decision to add the lighting package was mine and mine alone - Rob did not push it. The fact that its covered under the warranty is great. I will not hesitate to recommend RPW Construction to anyone looking to replace their deck, especially if they're considering Trex.

From the minute I called RP Wilkinson Construction I received A+ service. Rob took time on the phone to discuss my needs and set up a home consultation within a week. As we were discussing my style and what type of deck I was looking for, Rob made recommendations and suggestions that were 100% on target with what I wanted. Rob also informed me of some structural/safety concerns related to a deck that was enclosed into a sunroom by the previous owner of the house. He pointed it right out and made suggestion to correct it as part of his proposal for minimal cost. He provided me with a quote that was competitive and extremely detailed. His design was exactly what I was looking for and the price was right so the contract was signed. Throughout the whole process Rob kept me informed of the timeline in which the work would begin. His crew showed up on time, every day and went right to work. They were professional, tidy, and respectful of our space (parking, noise, etc.) In just over 2 weeks I had a beautiful new deck! It is exactly what I had pictured and the privacy screen design that Rob suggested is gorgeous and ties in so well with the house. I would highly recommend RP Wilkinson Construction for anyone looking to invest in a high quality, beautiful deck.

He helped in the design our deck, selection the materials/colors, getting the necessary approvals, and he delivered the final project ahead of schedule. The deck is well built and looks amazing. Great! Rob walked us through the whole process, and met us to visit the home of a previous client so we could make informed choices on colors and styles. Rob made a detailed plot plan, covering in detail all of the structural changes and requirements. He took care of all the town permits, and confirmed requirements specific to our town before construction began. The materials and dumpster arrived on schedule. The crew arrived promptly at 6 am each morning, but held off on "noisy" work until 7 am. The foreman, Mike, patiently addressed any questions I had. They demolished the previous deck, then poured new concrete footers, and built out the rough frame. Preliminary inspections passed without issue. They completed the construction on schedule, despite having to work around a couple of rain days. Rob did a final walk through with us and addressed a couple of blemishes. We are extremely happy with the final result.

From the design and estimation thru completion of the project, Rob kept us well informed, came up with great recommendations, and listened to our preferences. The team worked quickly and attentively, ensuring everything was done properly and was aesthetically pleasing. Rob and his crew built us a great deck. He spent several hours with us explaining materials and build options, then gave us a very detailed price quote. He handled all aspects of the project including architectural drawings, building permit, pouring concrete deck footings, and the actual deck construction. He updated status on a regular basis and was always available via phone / email for questions. Deck was completed exactly as promised and on budget. Rob and his team are excellent. We have done many remodeling projects and dealing with Rob has been our best experience with any contractor to date. High quality, professional, very timely and his communication is always excellent! Even two years from our deck being built we had to call him for a quick fix (it was our fault) and he called me back within minutes! We highly recommend this company.

The deck looks amazing. Every detail was pretty much perfect. When one board had a dent in it they took it out and replaced it with a whole new board. We are so happy with our new deck and the kids love being able to run out on the two levels and enjoy a part of our yard that was once gross to them!

If we were asked to conceptualize an ideal construction project, we could simply chronicle R.P. Wilkinson’s construction of our new deck. The initial contact and design phase: Rob was punctual and prepared to work with us. He patiently offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. His guidance through the design and decision process made it far easier than we had anticipated. When we had a final concept in mind, he took us to a similar, new deck in a nearby community. The owner of that deck expressed complete satisfaction. Rob provided us with references who were currently building decks; they enthusiastically recommended Rob and his crew. The contract and construction schedule: Rob’s proposal and design documents, which became the basis for the contract, were complete and understandable. In preparation for building our deck in January, footings were dug in early December, before the ground froze. Once construction was scheduled to commence, Rob was outstanding in communicating with us about what would happen and when. The construction of the deck: A two person crew of experienced carpenters worked efficiently and skillfully to build our deck. We were fortunate to have good weather during construction. They were highly organized. Mike, the construction foreman, pointed out and corrected a number of problems from a prior siding project. This was above and beyond. The final product: We are delighted with our new deck – the design, the materials, the construction, and, best of all, the process.

After shopping about five deck builders, I decided on RP Wilkinson based on how responsive and thorough he was throughout the process. The owner, Rob, was the only one to come out multiple times to help figure out the best layout, took time to understand not just our current needs but future plans, and designed a deck that will allow us to enclose half of it at some point in the future. The crew built a deck well above the high standards of the town's inspector and worked seamlessly through several challenges that my property posed, namely end-of-life aluminum siding and a set of concrete stairs under where the deck was to be built. They were also courteous and friendly around my small children and dog. Everything was ahead of schedule, right on budget, and my deck looks great. They were not the cheapest, but they offered by far the best value in the area. The final product exceeded our expectations and we look forward to enjoying many years on it.

Rob was thorough from the beginning. He was very knowledgeable about every aspect of my deck from the footings to the support beams and what my previous builder had missed. He instilled a sense of confidence in us that we were getting a solid, quality product that would look beautiful and last without any concerns. We love our deck!

As far as the outcome, there’s really only one thing that I can say – Rob and his team did an excellent job on our deck. His crew was hard-working, courteous, and professional. And from the start of the process right up until the end, Rob did an excellent job of communicating with us to insure that the job ended as a success. He even offered some advice on finishing under the deck as we used the Trex rain gutter system along with creating a use able space under the landing with framed privacy fencing. Bottom line is that we would highly recommend Rob, his craftsmanship, his professionalism and the product. Once we complete the landscaping under the deck this spring, we will post pictures.

R P Wilkinson construction calls themselves "Your Dream Deck Builder" and they certainly turned my dream of a beautiful deck into a reality! They listened to my needs and designed and built a fabulous deck to last and look gorgeous for many years to come. The deck is well built, the crew was very professional and punctual. They came and did their work on the dates we agreed upon and completed in the time expected. They cleaned the space and left no traces of a construction crew having been in my yard. RPW Construction was a pleasure to have done business with and I highly recommend before you decide on any company to build your deck, you call them.

The job went very well. Rob and team were extremely thorough, knowledgable and did exactly what they promised. Rob identified several items up front that 4 other deck professionals I met with missed. These were serious issues requiring an engineering design and if not figured out up front could have cost a huge amount of money and time. Luckily due to Rob's knowledge and background he was able to design for the issues up front. Huge job was finished on time and on budget. The quality of the work was great, even in areas that you wouldn't always expect. The new structure is extremely well built and looks great.

We could not be any more thrilled with how our deck turned out! At every step along the way - from the first time I spoke with Rob until the final walk through and inspection - Rob was personable, knowledgeable, and unapologetic about the fact that he was going to build us a deck that was thoroughly sturdy, entirely up to code, and would last for decades to come (structural soundness was at the top of our priority list). Before signing with Rob, he was completely available to us. Whether it was fielding calls to answer the myriad questions we had, or taking us to see three different decks in three not so close by towns, no request was too much for Rob to deliver on. His accessibility and attentiveness was second to none. A month and a half later, we now know with conviction that we made the best choice possible going with Rob and his guys. If you're looking for someone who cuts corners and skimps on materials to save a few bucks, Rob is certainly not your guy. They did an incredible job. He was very particular how the work was done. I wanted a flat roof and he was very instant that it was engineered correctly so I would not have issues with snow build up on it. He was very particular that the cuts and the spacing of the decking were exact and everything was perfect.
