June 2020 I paid $7500 to have my driveway paid. 2 hours after they left I had puddles. Owner assured me he would come out and take a look. 2 months later he finally came out. Said he would be there to fix and seal driveway. Fast forward to Nov 2021 and still has not shown up. Driveway is cracking, puddling and I even have tree roots growing up out of it because it’s so thin in some areas. We always communicated via text and I have a long trail of messages. The owner will now not reply to messages. He says he’s only a phone call away. I’ve called numerous times. I’m not the only one who has a driveway that has been done by him with problems either. Very sad.

I contacted O'Donnell Paving to provide a quote for a driveway replacement and relocation. Upon meeting John, he was respectful and precise. The quote was far below other quotes and I chose him for the job. Even though his part was a small part of the overall project, I informed him that I need a concrete date to start so I can relay the information to other contractors, and plan accordingly. I supplied them with a deposit of $4,200 on 5/24/14 and was informed by Ms. O'Donnell at that time that it would be about three weeks. I explained again about the deadlines and asked her to give me a heads up about a week and a half before they show up so that the landscape designer has time to mark the new driveway. After about a week and a half, I called the office to confirm the start date and was told by Ms. O'Donnell that due to rain delays, it was still about three weeks out. I explained again how important it was for us to remain on schedule due to the other contractors' schedules. Another week and a half went by and again I called to confirm the start date, Ms. O'Donnell, now frustrated, again explained that they were extremely behind due to rain (It hadn't rained in almost two weeks). Although annoyed, I excepted the excuse. On 6/26, after another week and a half with no word, I called the office again. Ms. O'Donnell, now extremely frustrated, Informed me that they were still three weeks behind and that there were eight jobs ahead of mine. She went on to explain that she needed to talk to John and call me back with a date if she can get one. John never called that night, nor any other night. On Tuesday, 7/1, I informed Ms. O'Donnell that I no longer wanted them to do the job and would like my deposit back and that I would be there the next afternoon to pick up the check. She told me that she had no way of getting me a check since John is the only person that writes checks and in fact John would like to talk to me that night. I waited by the phone, but no call. The next morning, Ms. O'Donnell called and told me that in fact she processed the check and it was in the mail. I received the check, made out by her, that Saturday 7/5. I thought she didn't write the checks and couldn't give me one? Also, the way they are set up, funnels all inquiries directly to one phone number. No e-mail or cell phones, and the one phone number you have, doesn't except unlisted numbers.. This way, they can avoid your phone calls if you want to complain. Bummer. Seemed like a nice guy.
