 + -1 moreTwo parts ordered one after the other and neither part solved the problem. Techs were unable to repair the washer. Decision made to buy new washer and scrap the broken washer. Service owner only charged me for the initial service call since they were unable to repair the washer.

He provide wonderful, helpful, friendly, competent and prompt service. Who could ask for anything more 😀?  + -1 moreNot bad. Set up was easy. Diagnosed problem but needed to order parts. Waited a couple of days to complete repair. Not a huge issue but the tech got the hot and cold hoses backward when reconnecting. My wife said the laundry was coming out weird for a few days. We checked and felt cold water on a hot cycle and vice versa. No biggie just shows a little inattention to detail. I connected them back the right way myself.

 + -1 moreOutstanding Service! Noticed at 6 am that the refrigerator was not working, looked on Angie's List and found Steve. Called after 7am and left a message, he called back within 10 minutes. He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. He fit me in before his first call, replaced the broken part (which he had in the van) and quickly had the refrigerator up and running. Pricing was very reasonable and made sure to fully explain the bill. He also took a quick look at the stove which has been giving me problems. Was able to diagnose the problem, and will have him back to fix that. Highly recommend for any appliance repair.

 + -1 moreGreat! The lid on my washing machine was stuck in the locked position (with wet laundry in the machine, natch). The person who answered the phone when I called Day & Evening was very helpful and professional. Steve came out the next day, found the problem, and also found a malfunctioning hinge that contributed to the lid locking improperly. Steve ordered the lock mechanism and took the hinge home to try to fix it. He came back on a Saturday (above and beyond) with both parts to fix my machine. It now works beautifully and easily. Steve is a great guy; he loves dogs. And is a most excellent appliance repairman.

He returned the next day to install the new dishwasher and discovered that the new one was damaged and had to be returned. When the replacement dishwasher was delivered the following week, Steve came right out and installed it. Outstanding service. We had used Day and Evening Appliance previously for freezer repair and will continue to use this company for any future appliance repairs.

Although I had a medical emergency and was not home for the appointment he was completely understanding and we arranged another appointment.  + -1 moreGreat Job! I never thought I'd get this issue taken care of completely inside of one day. Yesterday we heard a noise and smelled smoke. Emptied out the refrigerator figuring we have a big problem. Found Day & Evening on Angie's list. Next morning (today) called him literally at the crack of dawn. Got his machine and left a message, and he promptly called me back. I gave him all the details and he agreed to come same day. He arrived right when he said he would. Checked out the fridge and quickly found the problem. Changed out the part (had one with him) and we were in business. I highly recommend Day & Evening Appliance Service and I'm sure we'll be calling again.

 + -1 moreSteve called me the morning after I wrote to him on Angie's list. We ade an appointment for a specific day between 4 & 6. At 4:00 my phone rang saying he was on the way, 10 minutes later he was there, and 1/2 hour later it was fixed and he was on is way. I would definately use him again.

 + -1 moreTested dryer (6-7 years old) for operation and noted the grinding sound that had begun a few days before. Disassembled the dryer, found the buildup of lint that had thrown the spin off balance, spent 15-20 minutes cleaning the entire unit and lubricating the drum. Works fine. GE refrigerator's (10 year-old) ice maker had stopped working entirely. Tested it, removed and replaced it. Put it through ice making cycle. Works fine. $80 service fee, $65 labor, $148 in parts (plus tax). Less a $10 Angies list discount. Real gentleman and an experienced professional.

 + -1 moreSteve was prompt, called before coming to give a more exact time than the 2-hour service window he'd given when we made the appointment. He fixed the washer's not-spinning problem, and also two small leaks, and looked at the dryer which was making a funny noise. His knowledge of appliances--what the particular weak spots of particular things are--was obvious and very helpful. I hope I don't need any more appliances fixed any time soon, but I do this is who I will call.

 + -1 moreI called late Saturday AM. Steve returned my call Monday about 8:30 AM. He asked for description of problem and model numbers. He said he would be there between 2 & 5 PM and would call 30 minutes before his arrival. He did . He had the part for the dryer and installed it. He had to order the dish washer parts. He said that he would call when the parts came in and that he would not charge the $70 service fee for the return visit. It was an excellent experience.
Description of Work: Electric dryer -thermistor (temperature control) dish washer -door latches for soap dispenser.

 + -1 moreFrom the telephone call last night, to his early and prompt arrival, to his clear expertise in appliance repair, and over all professional and courteous manner, this was an excellent example of how appliance repair should work. I would certainly call on Day & Evening Appliance again for future repairs and highly recommend it to anyone else who has appliance problems.
Description of Work: Today (8/7/12) was the third time in the past 8 or so years that I have called upon Day & Evening Appliance (formerly Evening Appliance). Previously it was to repair a dehumidifier and a dishwasher. Today it was my Kitchen Aid refrigerator. Late yesterday afternoon I noticed that items in my freezer had thawed out and that food in the refrigerator was warm. After trying without success to correct the problem with the trouble shooting options in the owner's manual, I called Day & Evening Appliance about 6:00 pm.and spoke with Steve Salvas. He very knowledgeably discussed the options and costs and we agreed that since the items in the freezer were probably already spoiled, it would not be worth paying the $149 evening service call fee, and that he would come out on a regular call ($70) the next day between 10-1. I told him I would need to leave for an appointment by 2 pm and he said he would come as early in that time slot as he could. This morning he called around 10:15 to say he would be here in abut 20 minutes and arrived right on time. Since he had diagnosed the probable problem from my description the night before, he had the needed replacement part with him and proceeded to complete the repair in about 20 minutes, all the while giving me some good information energy efficient refrigerators. The total cost was $197.12 (fair, I think) and based on his suggestion, I will keep rather than replace my current refrigerator since he says it should run without problem for another 20 years and the replacement cost would greatly exceed the minimum electric savings I would get with a new model. While he was there, I asked him about repairing a damaged timer panel on my stove and he took the information so he can fix that the next time he has work in my area.
