From the first contact I found Dave Smith to be a great person to deal with. He took the time to understand my needs and to explain the various options that I should consider including giving me an "education" on security upgrades that I had in mind. On the day of the installation he arrived on time and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. The work was done professionally, neatly and the work area was thoroughly cleaned up when he was done. We were very nervous on Saturday evening when the doorknob of our house broke. We were able to replace it with a temporary knob that we had, but the door would no longer lock. I found Smith Lock and Safe and left a message, and he responded that evening. He told us that the cost of the service would be higher if we had it done on Sunday, so we opted to have one of us stay home from work on Monday and have the work done then (I was very appreciative of that!). David came promptly when he said he would, and did a great job on our locks, even offering to do the front door for a small upcharge of only $40. I'm so grateful that we found him, and he was very accommodating.

Job Well Done. David was extremely professional from the first time we met him in his shop to the final installation. He explained all the differences in materials and solutions and helped us to choose the locks that met our needs and our budget. He was competitively priced and had a nice selection. He ordered the hardware and installed it with a quick turnaround time and kept us informed of the order status. He and a helper installed all the hardware for us for a reasonable price and was very diligent and professional. The locks work smoothly and look wonderful. They were very concientious and cleaned up after after themselves. We would highly recommend Smith's Lock and Safe. Very courteous, professional and trustworthy. After several no shows by an auto locksmith to enter a new transponder-chip key into my Toyota's memory, I did a search a search on Angie's List and found Smith's Lock and Safe. Because he was leaving for an appointment, he couldn't spend the time to program the vehicle. He suggested that I just clone my existing key. I didn't know that it could be done. It took just a few minutes and was cheaper than reprogramming the car.

At each service call, Mr. Smith was thorough--checking the quality of the door function in regards to the locking mechanisms, clean---always mindful of the new floor and door finishes as well as cleaning up all shavings from fitting the latches correctly, and courteous. We highly recommend Smith's Lock and Safe based on price, punctuality, quality of service and knowledge.

David Smith came out to change the locks on my house late on a Sunday afternoon. My car had been broken into and my purse stolen. When I realized that the thieves had my driver's license with my address on it, and a spare house house key that was also in my bag, I got very nervous. I checked Angie's list for locksmiths with 24 hour service. I hesitated calling Smith's because they are located about 45 minutes away from me. But Mr. Smith was here in less than 1 hour and changed out 2 sets of locks in 2 separate doors and made extra keys as well. He did all this in about 20 minutes. I rated A for everything but price, that was high because it was a Sunday evening but it was money well spent because it gave me peace of mind knowing my house was secure that night. I would definitely use this company again!

They are very efficient. They are quick they are in and out and don't leave a mess. My family has been using them for over 25 years.

They were there early . Rekeyed the doors in about 20 minutes. Even recycled my old keys.

Over all I was pretty satisfied with this service. Although I'd called ahead to say that we'd want to "rekey" the locks on a house I was buying there was confusion about it late in the afternoon. The error was corrected with a minimum of fuss. The job was different than anticipated: the locks could not be "rekeyed" but needed to be drilled out and replaced. This required two trips to the house, on different days. The work was efficient and the products excellent quality. Ed and an employee were polite and friendly but professional.
