Description of Work: I ordered 2 replacement sliding glass patio doors and 4 replacement sliding windows in September 2014. I gave them a 50% down payment. The promised to install in November 2014. They called and said the material was backordered, and installation would be in December 2014. Then they said that weather prevented installation. Starting in March 2015, I started calling, texting, and emailing, asking to get my installation done. By July 2015, they said installation would be soon. In September they gave me a date in October. In October, they gave me a date in November. When they cancelled again, I started legal process against them. They promised to return my down payment with interest within 30 days. I still do not have my money back. I will be taking them to court in January 2016.

They shoveled snow off of our roof...to the worst possible places. They buried the dryer vent, the oil intake tube, and put so much snow on the deck that the house started shaking and BOOMING (it was like a cannon going off; loud enough to frighten the dogs.) By the time my wife and I were able to begin removal from these areas, everything had turned to an icy crust that we needed to use a crowbar, the claw of a hammer, and a dirt shovel/spade to remove the mountains of snow. This is ongoing and has taken us almost as much time personally as they originally spent removing snow from the roof. We now have cosmetic damage inside due to the pressure exerted on our deck, with cracks in the paint and separation of crown molding from the ceiling. They also shoveled several shingles off of the roof. We called them repeatedly, but they did not respond to our calls. They did immediately respond on facebook when I left a bad review on their page to try to salvage their reputation and minimize my problems that they caused. In the spring we found several "nips"-those small bottles of alcohol-right where they were throwing some of the snow. Apparently someone was drinking at least 6 rootbeer flavored Schmirnof bottles while on the job.
Description of Work: Shoveled snow off of the roof.
Everything was initially fine. I've spoke to an individual in July. I asked to come back and he said he would. He never came. We have moss on the new door he installed and the gutters are not functioning correctly. I never heard from them in months.
Description of Work: NEw roof gutters bulk head, replaced shingles. and fixed a bent pipe.

They did the job okay. I wouldn't give them a high grade because some of the things that they did they kind of blew it for what we found would be acceptable. The windows were fine. Their installation part, some of it was okay but some of it, they did some serious mistakes I think. One of them got cut, he just smeared the blood and didn't clean it up. We found that on the offensive side. The person that we contacted, he supposedly jumped all over the installer for doing that whether he did or not, I don't know. The windows are all done. We won't call them in for anything again. I thought that the price was okay. I wouldn't give anybody an A. B is the highest rating I would give. I will probably not use them again.
Description of Work: They installed the windows.

Stevens gave us the best of several quotes. They charged exactly what they quoted. The quality of the work is outstanding. Our only complaint is poor communication and the job took longer than expected but the results certainly outweigh those minor issues.

My overall experience was below average. The initial contact, estimate, and scheduling were excellent. Met one of the owners, himself, for the estimate. Offered a ten year warranty on labor. Was impressed...initially. Waited several weeks, due to weather problems (certainly not the fault of the contractor) and day of install, went fine. Needed second day to finish, also not a problem, but did not start at agreed time. Problems began 4 days after installation of roof, when it rained, and LEAKED! Immediately called customer service, who were nice and professional. They came back, assessed the roof, made a plan, and then did not follow through in a timely manner. The roof leaked several further times, in the same place, and it took several weeks to get the problem resolved. Ultimately, there has been no further leaking, the problem was fixed for free, but the hassle and multiple phone calls it took, were FAR from worth it. They did offer to paint the ceilings, but I really don't want anything to do with them, at this point. I just hope and pray that we never have another problem with this roof.
Description of Work: New back half of roof installed. Less than 30 degree slope, so "rubber" roof placed, with new ridge vent.

Contacted Stevens in March 2008 to replace an existing porch and change out our front door. Two weeks later, contractor came out to survey the site. Was promised estimate in 2 weeks. After several calls, finally received a verbal estimate in six weeks (mid-April). One month later (mid-May) we finally had a face-to-face meeting where a contract was signed, stating the work would be complete mid-June. Mid-July the work was finally started - again after several calls and emails to "motivate" the contractor. The crew disappeared, leaving the work incomplete. In fact, the support columns which held up the roof above the new porch were misaligned and the moulding on top and bottom overlapped the perimeter of the roof and deck - looked horrible. There were several excuses and reschedules that took place over the summer and into autumn. These included: a death in the family, crew car accident, door on back order, door frame low quality-had to be re built, there was a rain storm that took place, scheduling conflict leaving another project unsafe, the carpenter they usually use was not good at doors so they need to schedule their "best carpenter", scheduled the best carpenter, but didn't put it on the production board... It is now mid-October and I have an incomplete porch and still no door. Tired of staying home from work with no shows, no return calls, and seldom returned emails. I just fired the contractor, and am now working to get my $1,800 deposit back. Even after a phone message and email stating they are fired, no response after four days.
Description of Work: New front porch, replace double front doors with single door/sidelights.
