call for appointment, within 24hrs had a response. They came to my home, the person listened to what I wanted to have done. He walked around and took notes. He also made a few suggestions that were very reasonable. I asked for a formal draft to be sent to my address ,I wanted details of what would be done. Before he left he showed me color schemes of shingles and explained the quality and warranty by the factory. Within 48 hrs had a draft and the price. The team showed up on the dated req. They were very professional, polite and very clean in picking up after they were done. One day it stated a lot of rain, I had a message on the phone, telling me they would not be coming, they wanted to keep the roof dry and not exposed to heavy rain. Within 2-3 days, the team of 5-6 people finished the job and cleaned up, nicely. Now with the tropical storm season, I can sit back and relax about rain and wind. "THANK YOU CARE FREE HOMES "

The sales representative was more interested in telling me how great he was and in selling me the most expensive roofing materials. He totally dismissed my questions about other products. He refused to give me a written estimate stating it "was too much trouble" and "when you decide on using us I'll send a contract with all the details." During our discussion he changed the "estimate" three times and finally wrote a figure on the back of his business card. (His figure was $3,000 more than others). I felt like I was getting hustled. I did not and will not use this company based on his shabby performance.

Could not ask for a better experience. Great commumication, allways ontime, and first class work.

Overall, the work, done on time and according to the estimate provided, was well done to begin with. On review of all of the work with the owner before final payment, I noted a few areas that I wanted redone--e.g., in a few places, moving of seams connecting thin pieces framing the siding to less noticeable areas; and making a column on the front porch more exactly perpendicular to the porch roof. They were redone to my satisfaction.

After tenants left, I needed repairs and improvements to my Cape Cod rental property, including a cracked bay window, some rotted trim and siding, Carefree Homes had previously installed all my Harvey Windows many years ago at a very good price, even though I was down on Cape Cod, so I called them back this time. I was pleased that they still do business in my area, and they promptly gave an estimate that they honored. The work was done well and on time. They showed up when they said they would. They even came back when I had a concern that the bulkhead seal didn’t set right, and they corrected it right away. They will do the work they say and get it right.

The Salesperson was punctual and knew his products. Gave us ideas and choises. After accepting the offer, took approximately 3 weeks to come in. Scheduled a time and date to perform the work. The companies employees showed up on time. Were very congnizant of any construction dust and debris. Performed the installation expeditiously and professionaly. Cleaned up at the end of the job and left giving us his card and if we had any problems to call and they would return. I would use this company again.

This went very well. They were fast and good. They picked up after themselves each night. They did a good job.

They were good. They came and did what they said. We have had no problem since. Their pricing was reasonable. We had a small issue after they were done, but they came out immediately and fixed it.

The windows were nice. There was one window that was a different color. Other than that, they were good. The windows look great.

They were more professional and more respectful to my property than I could have hoped. They performed the work in a timely fashion. They worked every day all day. They were especially careful around my gardens doing very little damage. It was the best experience I have ever had with a company.

The roof was a good job. For the painting they subcontract it out and the guy took a month and a half to do the job. He did a decent job.

They made an appointment to come out and look at the roof and gave me an estimate in a very timely fashion. They came when they told us they would and did an excellent job. Even though it was Winter they completed the job in the time they had estimated. When they left you would not know they had been there. The work was completed on time and on estimate. They were very friendly and easy to deal with.

Carefree Home builders were putting up vinyl siding to existing siding but were suppose to replace all soffits but they only covered it up which I caught them doing and had to clarify again what was in the contract. They guys that were working on sidings came to work around 10am but the boss claims they start work at 9am. Its very important to write everything in the contract and have them clarify what the work is involved and also not be sold by words they promise you. This company also replaced all our windows but finished work was not perfect had to nag them about paint job afterwards that we had to pay extra for. I also had a leak in the roof while they were working on the siding at the time and all they wanted to do was sell me roof job but they had no idea why I had a leak in the first place. I gave the roof job to Dougherty Roofing Inc(not on Angie's list) and they did a great job and finished day early than expected.

I contacted Carefree Homes in August to get a quote on James Hardie siding after finding them listed as a Preferred Installer on the Jamies Hardie website. The office set up an appointment. A day before the appointment, I was called and gentleman who told me approximately how much the siding would cost without the trim based on his estimate of the size of our house which was higher than other quotes I had already recieved . I felt he wanted to see if I was truly interested in having work done based on the cost. He told me that it was an hour drive to our house and I felt that he didn't feel that it was worth it to come for the appointment. Weagreed to cancel the appointment. I had already received 2 other estimates from James Hardie Preferred installers. We decided to get siding done so I called again to get a quote and Dana Pickup did come out to the house. He talked about vinyl siding and ways to lower the cost by using PVC or vinyl for trim boards and to wrap the windows. The difference in cost was very small about $300 and I didn't like the idea of mixing material for the job. James Hardie has a good warranty and mixing products didn't seem idea to wise to keep warranty. He did not want to meet with me without my husband being home. My husband was here but didn't sit in on much of the meeting as it was my decision. He also quoted us pricing on vinyl that we were not interested in. Seemed a bit of bait and switch from the product that we inquired about to inferior or less expensive products. We decided to go with another installer also James Hardie preferred installer for a few reasons: 1. Angie's list reviews on Carefree were not as high 2. Canceled our first appointment after calling to judge if we were interested 3. Appointment with push to change products and mix products Estimate varied from $25500 for vinyl for a December special to over $37K for James Hardie plank We did find that prices in December for siding were lower than the prices we received in August.

Everything went fine as usual. Care Free Homes has done all my remodeling work in my home, which is almost everything. The workers are friendly, professional and efficient. They are very accommodating making sure that everything is what I expect. They always use quality products, always show up on time and they make sure everything is cleaned up when they are finished.

Carefree Homes installed mahogany decking on the floor of my porch and painted part of my house. They really did a very good job. I was satisfied with the price as I had gotten another estimate that was higher. They responded quickly to my request for an estimate, and the job was started exactly when they said it would. The workers were professional and did an excellent job overall. The quality of the work was excellent and I would definitely use them again.

An excellent experience from initial visit to completion of work. Carpenters and metal workers professional, competent and efficient. Russell Pickup made multiple visits to the house discuss the project, made reasonable recommendations about what work should be preformed and took the time to educate the homeowners (spouse and I) about how the work would be completed and remain watertight (our primary concern). Workmanship is excellent in all phases. The price of the project, with two high quality custom doors, was reasonable - not the lowest or highest, and definitely worth the product, workmanship and service we received. You certainly get what you pay for. Russell even adjusted the quoted price when one window did not require removal. Care Free Homes will be our first call when we remodel our basement.
