We recently won the $25,000 home make over with care free homes! The experience from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. From our first meeting with Stephanie, I knew we would be in good hands! She makes you feel like you've known each other your whole life :) We won a new roof,vinyl siding, and replacement windows! Every person we dealt with throughout the home makeover was so friendly. Any question I had about the work that was being done was always answered right away. The workers were awesome, very professional, and cared for our property as if it were their own. We were blessed to win this home makeover with such an amazing company! Thank you care free homes for making our home look beautiful :)

I live out of state so Nate and I did a lot of email, texting and phone calls. He is a very patient man. My family said they cleaned the work site up beautifully. My Mother was very impressed with the interior trim work. She said my father would not of found any fault with it, he was an interior finish carpenter.

Price was much higher than competitor. We used a different company. However, they were responsive and professional

Let me start by assuring everyone that I am not related to these people, although my review might sound like it. I would also like to note that they were NOT the cheapest people we spoke with, but the quality of the materials and the initial presentation impressed us. We were not disappointed. Nathan walked us through the project, took a great deal of time to answer all of our questions, and waited a year before we were ready. In that amount of time, his price quote did not appreciably change, either. From the first day their site crew showed up to the time we made our final payment, the crews were on time, polite, efficient, and highly competent. The vast majority of workers we saw were company employees; only the electrician was a subcontractor. I've always considered that important in dealing with large projects. On examination, they decided that the existing deck was not stable enough, so they tore it down, putting in New footings, etc. as they went along. No increase in the estimate! Allowances for things like flooring were more than generous. We decided on some fancy flooring that we had our own flooring guy install. Even he commented that the flooring allowance was more than fair. The finish work was just SUPERB. No sloppiness or slap-dash, "Let's get this finished and get out of here." Many times I saw their installers fuss over small details until they were happy with them, and their standards were light years above mine. At one point, they accidentally installed the wrong color shingles on the architectural roof. I called and the entire roof was replaced AND I received an apology! Now, that's integrity! These are VERY easy people to deal with. No surprises, no gimmicks, no slight of hand. The room is MAGNIFICENT, perhaps even better than we had ever hoped. Yet the style and design was so good that it looks like a natural extension of our home, not an add on. All materials are maintenance free; truly a care free home. I am a great believer in the old axiom, "You get what you pay for." We got a beautiful, maintenance free three season room, backed by a solid warrantee from a solid, honest company that more than just delivers on their promises. We'll go back to Care Free Homes for all of our future projects.

We had the quote on extending our deck. the price was reasonable so we signed the contract on April 7, 2015. From that point on we had to initiate all contact. We finally got tired of waiting and on July 24 we sent the the following email. Hello Russell, We have been very disappointed at the complete lack of communication from your company concerning our deck extension. We signed the contract on April 7, 2015 with an estimated completion time of 6 - 10 weeks (IE by June 15th). As of the beginning of June we had not heard from you so we phoned to inquire . We were first told that we were next in line and it would be done the week of June 8th. We didn't hear anything after that and on June 22 we called again and were passed on to your brother Dana's voice mail where we left a message. He finally replied on the 25th saying that they couldn't find a site plan that was need for the permit. I replied that I thought that I had one and would send it by email. This in spite of the fact that you said that you would take care of the plans and permits. I found one that afternoon (June 25) and sent it to him at 2:00 PM. It was not returned so it is on your server somewhere. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU SINCE. Your company has not behaved in a professional manner giving the impression that you do not care about our business. You have breached the contract and we are therefore cancelling the contract and will be posting this email on Angie's list.

They worked in a tidy fashion, cleaning up as they went.

The workers were professional and timely, and worked in brutally cold and windy conditions. As near as I can tell they did a great job! The roof looks fantastic. The clean-up took a while longer than I had expected, but that was mostly just because of a lousy pattern of weather (snow, heavy wind, rain). I did end up cleaning a fair amount of debris myself because I was uncertain when they were coming back, and I was impatient. However, they did come back and finish reasonably promptly. So I'm still giving them all A's, despite that one minor complaint. I would recommend them, and I also would hire them again.

The patio was done by someone the company contracted. It came out out very nice. They were professional and efficient. There was extra work in digging up the old patio and they did a great job. The first deck was completed with no issues and came out fine. We had one shed demolished and removed and another pre-made shed built. They built a foundation and put together the new shed. They did a good job on both. The pool deck took quite a while to construct. Overall it is fine. A couple of issues: nails were left sticking out and unfinished, pool cover wouldn't fit even after it was mentioned that the deck was too close to the pool rim. A service person had to come back out and try to cut away some of the decking to accommodate the cover. Latch on the gate was not installed properly and a service person had to come back out. Replaced a window. Work was completed by a different worker. There was no call to arrange the installation prior to day of install and he just showed up. Window replacement trim was left unpainted. I was told I could paint it. There was a lack of communication with the foreman / coordinator. I had to continue to call to get start date and work started.

Fine all was done in a timely fashion , Workers polite and friendly. Great clean=up

The finish with details on trim. They kept drop-cloths on the work and living areas.They cleaned-upvery well also.

It went very well. They were very efficient and very quiet. They came on time and left on time. The workmen were very, very nice. The price was a little bit more than the competitors.

The job turned out to be more complicated than anticipated. Jason adjusted to the unforeseen difficulties with professionalism. Additional materials needed were quickly secured and the work proceeded despite seriously adverse weather conditions. Installation of the floor was tricky as we did not want to lose out trumpet creeper vine that has grown on and around the deck supports. The deck is second story level, further complicating the work. Nevertheless, the work was finished in the estimated timeline, the yard was cleaned up, and the deck is beautiful. I would definitely hire Care Free Homes again.

See above. I was happy they called and came out right away but was disappointed thereafter and truely a waste of time.

Excellent - 2 men did the job . They were professional , punctional, and cleaned up as they worked. Excellent job with all aspects of the window install.

My mother always said, if you have nothing nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all...Sorry mom. We were quoted 3 weeks for completion it took 3 months, with no changes to scope of work. All workers are sub-contractors, not employees of Carefree. These guys found the rocking chairs on my back patio to be very comfortable. The majority of the day was spent smoking butts, talking on cell phones and watching the helpers do the work. Dana Sr sold us with the gift of gab but Dana Jr dropped the ball. I think Sr has an immense knowledge of building but Jr spent his days in back of the truck looking for the left handed screwdriver inside the bucket of steam. Not one aspect of this job was done right the first time, the roofers came back at least 3 times, siding was not installed to manufacturers specs and will not be warrantied because we got twice dipped shingles instead of 3 times dipped. The only reason I'm writing this review now is because my subscription is about to expire and I wanted to save anyone else future anguish.

They did a great job. It was a custom look for the house. They were attentive and personable and they didn't find ways to come up with extra charges. They were very professional. They took the length of time that they told me it would take. I would definitely use them again.

It went wonderful. They sent me pictures. Russell was very nice. I'm in Florida and they did my work in Mass.

This is a great company! From the first meeting with Dana Sr. through to the completion of the project, everyone from Carefree was professional, efficient, friendly, and thorough. I have a very long ranch style home that we anticipated would take a few days to re-roof. My yard didn't look like anything had happened as it was as cleaned up beautifully. Dana gave me his recommendations for the roof colors, a list of installs to look at so that I could see them, and I took his first suggestion. It's beautiful! I would and have gone back to them for other projects and will continue to. This is the type of company you go to in order to have a long term relationship with can-do contractors who are honest and reliable. Love them!!

For that we are grateful. But I wanted a different placement on the front downspout but he knew better. Right. Now we are worried about the huge icicle that forms every year over our front porch. We did use them to rebuild the front porch but that was before the icicle problem.

I didn't have a very good experience with Care Free Homes Inc. They were slow to get out and visit me. By the time they came out, I gave them a description of what I wanted to have done. It took them several weeks to get back to me. When they came back with the estimate, they had missed a whole part of what I asked for. I asked for an estimate for a bulkhead and an outdoor shower. He came back with an estimate for the bulkhead and nothing for the shower. And I wanted like three weeks. The price was exorbitant, too. He wanted almost $6,000 for the bulkhead, alone. I was like, "Really? I waited all this time and you don't have the whole thing and it's way too expensive. I was disappointed. My bulkhead is still a mess and I have to wait until the Spring, now. I think they do a lot of bigger projects, and I sort of got the feeling that they were overpricing it and trying to discourage me. They're probably thorough builders. They were really thorough when they had come out and took down all the information. If you had a big job for them, like adding a new room or something, they would probably do a good job. They weren't very fast, though.

They said they'd do in within two weeks, and they did. They did a good job, and were very pleasant, neat and tidy. I recommend them.

Great company to deal with. No surprises when job was complete. The price quoted was the price that was due when the job was complete. House looks amazing. Love how they made the windows look like they were installed along with the siding. The new house look makes me smile every time I get home.

Care Free Homes is great to deal with. No surprises, the quoted price was the final price. They do a quality job and always address any concerns. We initially had new windows done and then went back to Care Free for wood shingle siding and then a brand new Azek deck. We have been very pleased with all the jobs!!! We plan to have more work done in the future. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality job at a fair and honest price !!!

They have only been here two weeks. I asked them to fix a leak on the chimney and also move the satellite disk. I did talk to them today and they said they will do it. They are currently doing shingling. In contracting, things happen. They showed up when promised. They are very pleasant.

The provider did an excellent job. The windows are great and the service was excellent.
