 + 6 moreThe cost for this project is 80 000, which is ridiculous (more that half the price of the house itself), considering everything is cosmetic. I know that when I see that the price to refinish the floors is about 10 times the competition and the walls about 2 times more. Throughout the "surveying experience", he seems a bit angry and does not want the job. If he does not want the job, he should have just told me instead of giving me an insulting estimate.
Description of Work: Removing built-in shelfs throughout a 2200 sq ft 2 family home. Removing wainscoting in the kitchen. Removing and installing 2 toilets, 2 mirrors, 2 sets of fixture lights and 1 sink in the bathroom (note not a remodel - since tub, tiles and anything else is not redone). Installing some doors around the house. Reboard, tape and skim coat walls throughout the house (does NOT include ceiling). Sanding and refinishing the hardwood floor. No new trims, but use old trims. Painting the house.

 + -1 moreOverall, the porch/deck/patio projects went wonderfully. Nick Vrapi was able to roll with the punch and handle all the little nuances/roadblocks that came into play with older homes and corrected them with ease. When installing the porch, we found rotten beams and structural elements that were no longer sound. He remedied that with a lot of care and made it a great place for the family to enjoy. With the patio, we ran into an issue with piping for gutter drainage pipes moving water away from the house that were easily remedied as he moved them to better accomodate the deck and still serve their original purpose. Both porches are wonderful and we have had a great time enjoying his finished product.
Description of Work: At our summer homes on Cape Cod, Nick Vrapi restored our farmer's porch on our 80 year old house with new support beams and made it level again as it seemed to be sinking into the sand below due to years of erosion (hurricanes) and older building methods no longer proving to be sufficient. After he was done ensuring it was structurally sound, he installed Azek Procell decking for the porch floor and Azek Beadboard for the porch rail interior that is shingled with cedar shingles on the outside. We also had him install a patio/deck off the family room of our second house, a ranch, to provide wonderful outside seating. It was built with pressure treated beams and Azek Procell decking and came out absolutely beautiful. We are extremely happy with it.
