Within one month of my Aire Serv of Reading and Statewide Mechanical of Everett reviews, another problem occurred... our AC stopped working! The compressor began making terrible noises and the AC vents within our home started blowing warm air. Thank goodness we now have a reputable AC contractor who cares about his work and follows through for his customers, unlike Dave Coviello who never followed through on the leaking handler issue in May of 2018, 3 years after the install in May of 2015. We knew we could not rely on him with his past unprofessionalism in not showing up at our home when he said he would be there nor returning any of the calls we made to him regarding our handler leaking this past spring. After the lack of customer care by him the AC contractor we were fortunate enough to find took care of our handler leak which happened to be a quick fix. Apparently there is a brush/tool attached to the side of the handler in case there is a clog that one can use to push out any type of blockage (which is not uncommon). This little tool was never shown to us by Mr. Coviello or his crew of installers after the install was completed as this was something we could have trouble shooted ourselves had he taken the time to show it to us or told us on the phone when we called him for help with the handler leak. The handler is in the attic so the little tool on the side is not something one would notice or know about unless we were told. Now, just one month after the handler leak which stained a ceiling in our home our 3-year-old Carrier compressor failed! Although under warranty the labor cost to install a new one was $1200.00! I recommend to everyone who needs an AC install or service to stay away from Aire Serv of Reading and Statewide Mechanical of Everett also owned by Coviello. Needless to say David Coviello ignoring our AC handler leak and now the failure of our 3-year-old Carrier compressor could have been avoided if he cared about his installs and kept his word about showing up to inspect the handler problem, but instead he never showed up while we waited for him all day and never responded to our numerous calls to him. The only time he responded to a text was when he asked, "who is this?" on the pictures I sent him of the handler leak. When I responded who we were he NEVER replied back. What kind of a reputable contractor does something like that? Obviously not someone who provides customer care for the workmanship his company provides. It is very unusual for a compressor to fail after 3 years. Most issues with AC systems do not start happening until 12-15 years old. We own 3 other properties that had AC when we purchased the homes. These systems are much older and we have no problems with them. I am wondering if the compressor was defective when it was installed as the way we have been treated by Mr. Coviello makes us suspicious of the workmanship and quality of the parts that were used for our AC system. It seems he "takes the money and runs" so to speak, but has no interest in servicing the AC units he installs. My husband and I don't have the time in our lives right now to take this man to small claims court for what we consider to be inferior work and lack of follow through, so at the very least we want to save others from making the mistake we did by hiring him!

I think this company should be removed from Angie's List as they are not worthy of it. Nor should their other company StateWide Mechanical be allowed to present itself as worthy of customers as the owner is the same which makes me believe once they get the money to do the inital install of work they do not follow through and offer customer service to their customers.
Description of Work: we hired Dave Coviello, AireServe Reading to do our AC install. He seemed friendly and eager to get our business. We felt he was also conscientous and would follow through so we went with his company after thinking about it overnight. When they came to do the install, Dave sent his son with the crew who does the work to install the system. Dave apparently unbeknown to us at the time has another company caled StateMechanical. He said he had another job to do but that his son would be in charge. we had no reason to doubt hm at the time so the job went on as scheduled. It took them about two days to do the complete install of the AC system. Everything seemed to work fine. The day after they left when my husband and I put all our clothing back into our closets where the duct work was installed we found a large hole cut into one of the closets hardwood floors. Apparently the worker made a mistake and then made a cut in the opposite sie of the closet. I was very disappointed that the worker who did not speak english very well did not at least tell David/s son as it would have been nice for us to know a mistake due to a language issue may have caused the mistake as we would have accepted the error. As it turned out I called Dave to tell him and took a photo of the hole made in the hardwood floor. He sated he was surprised it was not told to him. That's how it was left and my husband had to take the piece of hardwood flooring that was cut out and glue it back into the closet. Thank goodness it was in the closet and not exposed as it is still noticeable of the error that was made. Still we felt we would have faith in Dave and his company. We had an issue with the AC return vi brating which was very noisy and at night kept us awake. We called Dve to come and look at it for us but it took close to the warranty period to even get him to come back an look at the problem. Apparently the return was initally put on on incorrectly facing the stairway which was dangerous. It was turnd around and the filer was then appropriately placed back inside which seemed to contribute to the problem It was resolved but it took many calls to Dave to get him to come out and address the issue. Two years after the install my husband noticed a water stain on our ceiling under where the handler sits in our attic. He called Dave who told him he would come out later that day to take a look. We emptied out our masterbedroom closet so Dave could access the push up entrance to the attic. My husband also brought up a ladder for him to use to enter the space. Not only did Dave not show up, he never called to say he was not coming nor did he return John's callswhen Hohn reached out to him after he did not show. This upset me terribly so I emailed Dave several times about this and he never responded. Today Isent him a picture of the water stain on the ceiling and the water in the tray under the handle to show him there is a problm that needs fixing and that we realize we are no longer under warranty and expect to pay for the servicee repair. I got a text back from Dave saying, "who is this?" I said it is Judy & John Arrigo and I have tried reaching out to you by email several times when you never showed nor returned John's calls when you did not show. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that he did not repond after that.

They just did fantastic job, we were very please.

They responded immediately, and got my system back on that day. I was very impressed that they called before they came, telling me the name of the technician who would be there, and when they arrived, showed me ID. We had no heat on one of the coldest days this winter. I called Aire Serv of Reading, who was recommended to me through a friend. The technician (Dave) came right out as promised. My very old burner needed to be replaced. Dave took care of everything -- replaced it with a high efficiency burner which will save me money in the long run. I found Aire Serv of Reading to be extremely professional, reliable and the cost was very reasonable. I would recommend Aire Serv of Reading without hesitation.
