They completed half of the work and received full payment. At that point they became unresponsive and left the remaining work unfinished for over a week. They then missed their next appointment. After 3 weeks I had to find an alternative provider to complete the work.

At first I thought the floors looked good. While they were refinishing the floors we had to be out of the house for 3 days so I did not see any work in progress after the hardwood was put down in the living room. Due to the lighting in the room, the fact that we had just moved in and were still unpacking, and the large open space it took me about 2 months to notice 2 flaws in the floor and to contact the owner. There was a bubble next to the marble "surround" in front of the fireplace that peeled and another spot where it looked like the applicator was stopped and a large amount of polyurethane was deposited. Then I also noticed that the first floor bathroom was not even done although I paid for it. The first floor was now gloss and the bathroom was satin. For about 4 months Dottie (owner) kept emailing me back saying they were not in the area to look at the problems and she denied that the bathroom was not completed. Finally I informed Dottie of my intent to inform the Better Business Bureau. After filing my complaint and getting a response, Dottie sent me 2 money orders totally $27 and information how to refinish the bathroom myself. She said it cost $.50 per sq. ft. to refinish (35 sq. ft.) and the $27 covered that (I paid $1.50 per sq. ft.). I since then noticed another area in the living room (about 12"x12") that is satin. I do not know how Fred could have missed the same spot 2 times since it was suppose to be 2 coats. Now I wonder if 2 coats were applied. I understand that mistakes can be made. I expect that if they are, they will be repaired. Also it is wrong to charge someone for work that is not completed.
Description of Work: Provider put down hardwood in the living area and then refinished first floor floors to match.

We were a little panic stricken as we were getting furniture delivered and decided (at the last minute) that it would be a good idea to get the floors finished. After calling a couple of local places, I remembered we had used Eagle Floorcraft many years before. They were very accomodating and charged us less than the others had estimated.

This is a family operation, with all the personal attention you always expected from tradesman, but never seem to have gotten. They are experts at their craft, friendly, informative and a pleasure to do business with. When I mentioned the 2 closets, Fred said "Of course we'll do those. It's not a complete job without doing them." That's SERVICE, and always with a smile. Very important--there was NO MINIMUM CHARGE, like the other guys. This was a small job, but they handled us like we were a big whole house job. I will insist that all my friends talk to EAGLE, before doing any hardwood refinishing or installation.
Description of Work: This was as good an experience as can be had, when your house is all upside down and you're in a hurry to get your floors done! From the start, talking to Dotty, on the phone, about my one bedroom job, was pleasant, informative (they literally have 45 years experience installing and refinishing floors) and reassuring. She was able to give me a "ballpark" quote over the phone, for refinishing AND repairing old holes left by radiators. Amazingly, they are ONE-THIRD the price of the fancy dustless guys. Also, I was originally quoted $500 for just the wood repairs, by the other guys. Fred Sr. and Freddie Jr. spent 2 hours, doing a meticulous job on that repair and charged just $60. Dotty was able to fit me in just 6 days after my phone call. By the way, they arrived on time and kept me informed both day and night about their progress, over the 3 days that the job took. I am very fussy about work on my house, and Fred and Freddie did not disappoint me.
