He performs the work in a very timely manner and does an outstanding job cleaning up the work area when finished. I will hire Lee again as the need arises and highly recommend him.

He is meticulous, talented, resourceful, fair, professional, of high integrity and extremely talented. He solved problems that others might have avoided in an economical and responsible manner. He left not even on nail behind him. NO MESS! You may have to wait to get him but it's well worth the wait. Summer Winter Fall or Spring...this man does the job. He quoted the job in a timely fashion, was upfront about his schedule and when he could get to do the work and then did what he said he was going to do at the price he quoted. He kept in contact with me throughout the project to make sure I was aware of his progress and issues that came up. I was very satisfied with the result and would use him again.

+ -1 moreExcellent! We called 3 local roofers. One told us he would do the work but never showed up leaving the attic of our unoccupied home exposed to the elements for a month. The second contractor told us we needed to replace the entire roof. Thanks to our third call. Mr. Howarth came by the same day we called (Saturday) and gave us a very reasonable estimate. He then returned that afternoon and completed the job. He was pleasant, prompt, neat, and most of all honest. We could not be happier. Hire this man!

+ -1 moreIt went wonderfully from the time I first spoke with him on the phone to the first time that I saw the new roof. I could not have been happier with the entire experience.
Description of Work: Lee installed a new roof on my house and during the inspection process pointed out just how poor the ventilation was in my attic. There was absolutely no pressure to do extra work, but I also had him install soffit vents and vent my bathroom exhaust fan through the roof, instead of just venting into the attic. I have some experience in construction, so I knew what he was telling me was correct. He also added ridge vent to the roof, which had never been present since the house was built 26 years ago. His price was reasonable for the work performed, but it was his professionalism and the quality of work that really stands out. He came to the house when he said that he would and inspected the roof. He told us that the front of the roof was all cracked, but that the back of the house could probably go another 3 or 4 years. We ended up doing the entire roof all at once, but his honesty was very much appreciated. He asked for and received a 25% deposit and did not ask for another penny until the work was done. He started work when he said that he would and he finished when he said that he would. One other note on something that set him apart from the other contractors. He hand nails the shingles, rather than using a nail gun. He does it the "old fashioned way", which results in a better installation. It takes longer, but it also produces better results. Lee recommended stripping the old roof off, which I wanted him to do, but it was nice to see that he did not want to cut corners in order to reduce the price. My experience in the end was that Lee is a first class gentleman and contractor who is a man of his word. He will do the job right the first time. He has whole heartedly earned my recommendation.

Description of Work: My roof was leaking in the bathroom. He replaced a vent. He gave me an estimate that was the correct amount. He came the day he said he would. It was raining in the AM. He called to let me know he would be there at noon and he was and was done quickly. I was happy with the results.

+ -1 moreAlthough no work was done on the house, I was impressed with his general knowledge of the roofing business and his honesty in stating my roof did not need to be replaced at this time. I would definitely recommend him for a roofing project.
Description of Work: At the date and time scheduled Mr. Howarth came to my home to provide an estimate for a roofing job. He measured and inspected the roof and told me that in his opinion the roofing shingle was in fairly good condition and did not need to be replaced at this time. He also noted that the flashing around the chimney was in poor condition and should be checked by a mason. Mr. Howarth was pleasant and seemed to be knowledgeable about roofing materials and various options that were available.

The most important piece of the job was removing the ridge vent and widening the opening in the ridge so that the attic can vent properly (it was too small previously). Lee installed flashing to prevent water from pushing back up the vent. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. Highly recommended.
