Description of Work: work completed in 11/2009--repairing & repointing granite stairs and repairing decorative brownstone detail surrounding front entrance. all other mason's I contacted would not repair the detail & recommended chipping it away. OJ Misdea rebuilt the deteriorated moldings by hand & did a beautiful job. Tony is great to deal with, her prompt & trustworthy. We had some minor cracking on the stairs after winter & they came back to fix them. We recently received another quote to rebuild a retaining wall & will definitely use them to do this work.

The porch work was the entrance to my home and the foundation stone is visible all around the house, so I was especially concerned about the appearance and quality. For the porch it was necessary to end up with fieldstone pillars that would be or look like exact restorations of the originals and for the new concrete not to look too different from the old portion that remained. For the repointing I was particularly concerned about that the appearance of the width of mortar between the stones would not increase and cover more of the stones. I chose Misdea based on the recommendations of others and the feeling I got from the principals, even though their price wasn't the lowest. They performed the work on time and quickly, their team was courteous and friendly, and the final product looks great. It's only been through one full winter at this point, but it still looks great. I would gladly use Misdea again for other masonry work.
