+ -1 moreThe workers were good, quality of work was great, but they are expensive. We considered having them refinish our basement for us as well but estimate was really overpriced. Dave is great and attentive to customers needs and the quality of his team's work. the door blends in perfectly with the surroundings, looks like it was always there.

Description of Work: RJ and David Chapdelaine built a custom home in East Longmeadow for my husband and I in a neighborhood of other custom Chapdelaine homes. All homes different from another, they took plans that we found and were able to use their CAD programs to make changes to the outside of home, while maintaing the integrity of the plans we liked for the inside floor plan. Our home is beautiful, the workmanship is stellar, top of the line products, the finishes totally upscale. They worked with us every step along the way, allowing us to add walk in closets to areas that might have been just attic space, etc.. We have enjoyed this home for the past seven years, and entertained many guests and family. They were pricey, but from the custom stone work, custom wainscotting, molding and trim work they have made a very special home for us! It was a very positive experience.

+ 0 moreWe never heard back from Chapdelaine, and as it turned out, that was lucky for us.
Description of Work: The representative from Chapdelaine visited us and made suggestions for remodelling three bathrooms in our house. He recommended that we leave the floors in place and instead focus our attention on making the bathrooms beautiful. He suggested that we talk with an interior decorator who works with the company; this would be an additional charge. The representative said that the company was very busy at the time of his visit, but that he would get back to us; that was nine months ago. We hired another builder who told us that tearing up the floors was absolutely essential in order to get at serious plumbing problems. He was correct. We are fortunate that Chapdelaine did not get back in touch with us.

+ -1 moreVery well. The decorator I used was professional and thorough. I did not always agree with his tastes but he provided enough options for it to work out. I am still waiting on completion of the drapes.
Description of Work: I ordered new bedroom furniture and got help designing and selecting drapes.

+ -1 moreAfter spending approximately 20 minutes with me evaluating the possibility of turning my existing back deck into either a 3 season room and/or a screened in porch, gave me a rough estimate of $22-25k. The gentleman stated that he needed a week to do a proper estimate of costs and ideas and would call me and or give me a written estimate. He, nor his company ever called me back or sent me a written estimate. That was almost 5 weeks ago. Very dissapointing especially considering the job itself may have yeilded the company a large sum. Dissapointing that they never got back me as promised, would not use them for that reason. If they cannot even return an estimate as promised....how can they be trusted to do the work as promised?
Description of Work: None. A gentleman arrived on time as scheduled for an estimate.

Each project involved several months of contact with the principals and their employees at every level, and I was never disappointed with their attentiveness, intelligence, and professional approach to each project. My clients consistently expressed their pleasure working with the Chapdelaines.
Description of Work: Chapdelaine & Sons has been the general contractor for a number of residential projects over a span of 30 years, for which I served as architect hired by the homeowner. I can recommend the company wholeheartedly.
