After having three different estimates, we decided to proceed with Tom and his company. Tom was, and continues to be, extremely responsive to questions and any issues before, during, and after the work was completed. The work was expertly done and exceeded our expectations. After completion of the job, there is a drainage issue i'm having. Tom has already been out to help solve the problem and told me to contact him if the problem persists. Just excellent service. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for future landscaping needs.

I love my new Patio! Tom was professional, very accomadating and patient while I tried to find the pavers I wanted. He returned messages quickly, arrived on time for the estimates as well as for the work being performed and did a great a job on the patio. He even did another small job for me that I had not thought to ask about unil the day of the installation. Prices I felt were reasonable. I hope to use him again in the future when I am able to expand the patio.

Tom did an outstanding job in every way. The patio looks great! As requested, he included a darker design stone around the perimeter of the entire patio. His price was reasonable. He showed up as scheduled. The project was done quickly and efficiently. An area once filled with weeds and debris is now a beautiful inlaid patio, with foundation. Thank you Tom! Plan to hire him again for other landscaping projects.

We needed to have a our lawn repaired after removal of 27 large trees that left the lawn with deep ruts making the yard unusable. After three attempts with other contractors we used Angie's List and met with Tom from Environmental Design and knew immediately we had found the right contractor for our project. They expertly installed: two patios, a curved versa block wall, fire pit, planted shrubs and Ginkgo trees and relocated perennials. Tom graded our yard for proper drainage and seeded a new lawn. Tom is a pleasure to work with he is flexible on design changes and had the confidence and equipment to complete our project in a timely manner.

I asked this contractor to come provide me an estimate. After what i recall being 3-4 days, I received a call asking me to schedule an appointment. He gave me a date another 3-4 or more days out. If memory serves, it was a Tuesday. He came early and I'm giving him a N/A because of it. After a brief discussion of what I wanted accomplished, he took no notes other than my email address and stated that by the end of the week, I would receive a written estimate. It has been over one month since my initial contact (8/7/19) and I have not received that email or a call back.

After receiving multiple estimates, we decided to go with Environmental Design & Landscaping LLC because they gave us a fair price and Tom was very responsive when I called him to 1st come out for the initial estimate and to subsequent followup questions. Tom and his assistant Mike were very respectful of our property as well as my neighbor's property. They took special care to minimize damage to the surrounding areas. They were on time and their work was simply beautiful. The job took approximately 4 days to complete and we could not have been more satisfied. We needed a small matter taken care of after the work was done and Tom came right over and took care of it. We would hire Environmental Design & Landscaping LLC again in a heartbeat. Thank you Tom and Mike for going the extra mile for us.

Well the design was computer aided which gave us a visual of our house, so there was no guessing at what the plants would look like.

The provider seemed to understand my needs but never returned with the quote. I paid $50 for the quote but never recieved it. I would not contact this contractor again.

It didn't cost more than the "Big Deal." He's a nice guy. The drawing that he supposedly did was so amateurish. It wasn't professional at all. At that time, I was getting ready for a big landscaping job and I had other people give me a professional drawing and had those people do the work. He shouldn't put that out there unless he has a computer and he does some CAD.

The job went very smoothly. We have a tendency to want to get into the details and at times micromanage if things start slipping, but the job went so smoothly that we never had to get involved. They listened to us and helped develop a plan and all the details that really transformed our property and gave us the curb appeal that we (and our neighbors) really enjoy. I could not have been happier with the results or with working with Tom.

It could not have gone any better! We only had a vague idea of what we wanted, Tom came over and told us his ideas, we picked out the colors/pattern and a few short weeks later the project had begun! It only took them a few days, and now that it's done we're in absolute awe. ED&L has truly exceeded our expectations and we simply could not have asked for a better experience. Based on Angie's Lists deals and consumer recommendations - I chose Environmental Design & Landscaping LLC to construct a paver patio for our backyard. Our home is a 1930's Tudor style house, made of stucco & brick. I wanted something that would be a nice addition to the home, yet keeping in the look/feel of the home's aesthetics. This projectalthough relatively small, was important to us and a bit challenging - as most paver materials within our budget did not look great when placed next to our house. But when Tom came out to review the project with us, he was able to give us a couple of options to explore for both materials and designs. He then kept in touch through out the planning process to fine-tune the material choice, always working hard to stay within our budget.Tom was extremely professional and prompt on keeping his appointments and he did a super job on the installation. The patio came out gorgeous! It is EXACTLY what we had envisioned and with his guidance, we were able to achieve results that exceeded expectations. I can highly recommend him and his services. I would use Environmental Design & Landscaping again in the future.

I had initially had Tom come out in early spring, March 2014, for an estimate; he was good about getting the quote to me in a timely manner. I had many other quotes done over the next couple months in order to make sure we were getting not only a good price but someone who was capable of doing quality work. Tom was good about getting back to me when I had questions about the quote, i.e.what would the price difference be if we had done seeding rather than sod, was he fully insured, etc. We felt very comfortable with Tom's quote and his visual design he had submitted (he was not the cheapest quote we got nor was he the most expensive. Which is what me and my husband felt the most comfortable with.) I had emailed Tom on June 7th stating we were accepting his quote and asking when he would be able to start. My husband called a few days later to see when we could be expecting him to begin or if he was even still interested in doing the job any longer. I am assuming this was a busy time for him because he went from responding to my emails by the next day to waiting more than a week for him to respond on whether or not he was going to accept the job. I still wish he had been more communicative at this point of the process. However he came mid June to do a final survey and said he would be sending a contract in the mail. Which he did, I signed and sent with a down payment (emailed him July 5th notifying him that I had done this step and asking for a call.) He emailed back July 7th saying he would begin work late July and if anything opened up he would be able to get here earlier. While we were waiting for the work to begin we decided we were going to add the shed pad, and mark off areas for a patio and a swing set that my daughter received as a birthday gift; I emailed Tom on Jul 11th about these changes and he responded by the 13th with a few more questions about the changes but he didn't seem bothered by the new layout since we were still a few weeks out from work being started. Work began August 1st, with him ripping out our old grass and grading most of the lawn. We had to wait for the sprinkler system to be installed (which Tom referred us to the people that completed our sprinkler system and they were excellent.) Work was completed on August 11th. I have beautiful dark green grass now and an impressive design in front; which includes black mulch, attractive shrubbery, and beautiful lighting that really makes our home look grand (especially at night.) I would say the only thing I was disappointed with was the placement of the shed pad and the swing set area. I felt I had made myself clear of where the swing set was going and the direction the shed was going to be installed (wanted it perpendicular to the house rather than parallel.) In retrospect perhaps I should have clearly marked it off but also I am not an expert in codes of building structures (how far away from the house/fence it needs to be etc) or in design so I didn't feel qualified to make markings by myself. But I still went out there with him and clearly showed him where I was planning on having the shed installed (which he notified me i couldn't have it right up against my fence for code reasons. Which I understood but still wanted it perpendicular to the house.) I had explained the position of the shed to the sprinkler guy as well but because now that the placement is different we have to have the sprinkler guy come back out and move a few heads in order for it not to be watering my shed only. I will also say that my husband wishes the backyard was a tad more level. All in all my yard did do a complete 180; it went from being the ugliest lawn on the street to the envy of the neighborhood. I am very happy with the results and quality of the work. I am constantly getting compliments and feel very proud of my yard now. I only am offering constructive criticism on Tom's communication; I wish he had been more detailed about the process and walked us through it since it was our first time having a major landscape job done. I feel we were constantly going out there and asking questions and double checking. And when we didn't we found that the work wasn't what we had discussed. I am still very pleased with the work and would use him in the future but would be more on top of him about staying communicative.

Tom set the appointment with me within 30 minutes of my request and arrived on time. He listened to my ideas for what I wanted to accomplish with my backyard which included a large stone patio and 4' high, 30' long raised wall. He left me with a catalogue of the stones and bricks he works with so I could have better input in the process. Within a few days I was presented with a rendering of what my backyard would look like. It was good quality, not top, but it gave me a good idea of what I might have at the end. He presented me with a second one after some input from me and that took about two days from my initial response, which I thought was timely. I did not decide to have the project done because the project was not the best use of my money. I paid for the design help and that was provided to me with great professionalism. Thank you, Tom.

Came to give us a landscape design and estimate. Had to contact him again for a response. The design he gave us looked like he just threw pix of shrubs and a few flowers. Obvious very little time or thought was spent on it. We were not aware we were entitled to a refund for this until Angie's List called us. Very impressed with AL! Thank you.

The landscaping work was performed adequately and timely. However one of the bushes died and several did not come back very well over the winter. Tom did come by and say he would replace the dead bush, but that was two weeks ago and he has not returned to do so. I left him a voicemail but never heard back.

Prompt and professional. Tom (seems like the owner) stomped around my back yard when it was still filled with snow to get all the measurements. They showed up for the first week of May (actually the last few days of April) as promised - actually a little early. The job was completed on time and completely to my satisfaction. Tom was on the job himself most days. They delivered and planted 40+ arborvitae around the pool and back property line. They delivered 20+ white azaleas that I planted myself later to liven up the pool deck. The combination of the dark green arborvitae set off by the bright white azaleas is fantastic. The quality of all the plants is top notch. They also planted a total of four dogwoods, two on either side of the pool and outside the fence line. And then created a landscape area where two of the dogwoods are visible from the street. The net effect is to screen the fence around the pool and create exceptional privacy for the pool deck. The walkway was constructed of very heavy pavers and looks great. The whole result looks very classy - replacing a horrible overgrown hedge that was cut down by others last Fall. Thanks Tom!
