+ -1 moreI called this company based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. I left a message and never heard back. A few weeks later I tried again and the owner called me back and explained he had had surgery and apologized for never returning my first call. He arrived on the agreed upon date to give me an estimate, which was in line with another quote I had received. When I tried to contact him to schedule a date to do the work, he never returned my call. Weeks later I tried again and he answered the phone and said he'd look up the quote and call me back. No call. Same thing a week later. I guess he just doesn't need the business but it's a terrible way to run your company,

Description of Work: "In June 2014, E. J. Villamaino Paving installed a new driveway at my home. All last winter, I faced an on-going problem with ponding snow-melt and water on the side of the driveway next to my home and in front of my steps. I had to use more than 12 bags of salt, plus kitty litter and sand so no-one would fall and get hurt on my property, including myself. When the ice did melt, it seeped into my garage and everything there was frozen in place and the floor is ruined. Summer rains also pond, forcing visitors to back into my driveway and then try to navigate across it to my door. It is still a nightmare. All this year, Vinnie Villamaino promised my son who lives out-of-state that he would take care of my problem. Kept stalling by saying he needed a special piece of heat equipment. Finally, in mid-August he said he had the equipment and would have the repair done in 2 weeks. He failed to show or even contact either one of us. I called and his answer was, ""Your driveway looks flat to me."" (Well, so does a road look flat until it rains and half is flooded.) And so far, he has refused to rectify the situation. I'm a 92-yr. old widow and dread facing another winter like the last one. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND VILLAMAINO PAVING TO ANYONE."

Description of Work: It took a year from the time the first contact was made until the service was provided. Well worth the wait. We had our driveway completely redone and added a paved driveway where we had a stone driveway. So now we have two paved driveways including landscaping around the driveways and grass seeded. |The workers were efficient and got the project done as quick as possible once they were available to do the work.

+ -1 moreWe called back to discuss the difference between the first quote and the second one only to be given the runaround. The owner made several promises to call us back and never did. We kept calling back and asking what was going on only to be told that he will call back again and again. Terrible service from a company on Angies list.

Description of Work: Made an appointment for October 11th, between 9:00 & 1:00. Never showed up and never returned my call. So unprofessional! Good thing I had made other appointments with the electrician, plumber and window installer for that day. Would never use him.

+ -1 moreE J VILLAMAINO PAVING was quick to respond to our phone call and to come to our home and give us an estimate. They were extremely fast to provide us with a written estimate via mail as well. We got a second price from another driveway installer which was almost twice the price of E J VILLAMAINO PAVING, and as a result, they priced them self right out of a job. Our job was quickly and professionally done, and we highly recommend E J VILLAMAINO PAVING. We would definitely use them again.

+ 0 moreAs stated above, we were very pleased with the entire project and would gladly recommend Villamaino for any driveway or other paving project.
Description of Work: Replaced 40 year old existing asphalt driveway. They arrived at 7:00 AM, dug up the current driveway, added required gravel, installed 2 layers of asphalt and rolled all layers. They also pitched the driveway so that water would flow in the proper direction. The crew was very professional and were completed in about 5 hours.
